Building a pin based on a mob whose legacy is killing everyone is where I have trouble with this. That's not on-brand with JJP's strategy to date.

Quoted from jamieflowers:Jack said they had license for ALL of the Toy Story IP.
Okay now THAT pisses me off most.
The fact that they had the IP for all of the films and still KNOWINGLY chose to only do TS4 tells me everything that I need to know about future licensing. What a shit choice. Gawd.
Quoted from Sorokyl:Maybe it's just me, but for the most part I don't care if my pinball machines match themes I was already in love with.
I'm the opposite. Theme matters to me. It's why I own STTNG and Wonka. It's also why I'll never own a POTC.
Harry Potter was a big part of my kids lives growing up, and my wife and I both enjoyed the franchise. Hell, Universal Studios FL has an entire park section dedicated to it. Yeah, it's big IP for sure. No doubt it'll sell if/when released in a pin version.
Honestly I'm still floored it's even a topic though. Rowling has been quoted more than once about not caring for pinball, at all.
Quoted from CLEllison:If he would know then every distributor would know right. Pretty certain he just had a photo opportunity to have some fun with ..... nothing more.
Is anyone actually interested in this title if it's going to be comic bookie based on the upcoming animated series or hogwarts legacy game based? That's a hard pass on both for me. And if it is based on one of those two, they better not call it Harry Potter if it's not rooted in the 7 HP books.
Sadly I expect the worst simply because the license costs associated. Nobody is in the business to break even.
Toy Story was all the evidence I needed. Hard pass.
Quoted from Zen_Monkey:I like how Toy Story is used as an excuse for passing all future games. Pat isn’t even at JJP anymore and Dialed in is a pretty darn good game.
I’ve never played Toy Story but really enjoy Godfather and Pirates. Godfather won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but I think it shows a promising new direction, less multi balls and better flippers.
I think JJP still has a lot to offer.
My comment is directed specifically towards the usage of a license in a game. GnR excepted (since Slash pretty much offers carte blanche access), their choice to highlight only TS4 was dead wrong, full stop. If you're going to license a pin, do it right or don't do it at all.
