Quoted from sevenrites:Yep, a restrictive license holder is definitely Pat's fault. And because it's Toy Story 4, the shots and flow all must suck too. And because of Toy Story, all his other games now apparently suck since he now allegedly sucks. /s
Jack said they had license for ALL of the Toy Story IP. They CHOSE to make it TS4...Pat wanted to make a carnival game and shoehorned TS into it. Dialed in Shoots great, the theme is absolute shit. Mom jeans holding an iphone. Wonka didn't do it for me. Pat had an incredible run early in his career. The middle was terrible (may or may not have been his fault, but the games sucked CSI, Monopoly, Nascar, RCT) I don't really want to just bash the guy, he seems like a very nice dude and has had a great career. My issue is that the best games are ones where the designer and the theme match. Eric loved GNR and while the balancing could be better, the theme integration and layout is outstanding. Wouldn't it be better to have a designer who grew up, or currently loves the IP?
