If JJP made a game as good as GNR, i'd be temped to own one.

slash has good ideas too. GNR turned out awesome because of him.

    Quoted from Vdrums:

Pink Floyd would be amazing and a safe bet. I bet people would sell a machine or two just to have it.

pink floyd is my 2nd favorite band, but this is an incorrect statement. Never buy a game based on theme. It would come down to layout, rules and full package. Because there are plenty of games I love the theme of, but the game sucks balls to me. And others, I think the theme is terrible, but I own because it all works. SO making a blanket statement like this is just dumb, because nobody should be buying based on theme only.

CaptainNeo I've been called many things but "dumb" is not one of them. We're not talking about just "some" game with a pink Floyd theme... This thread is about JJP. Put JJP and pink Floyd together and you'd have something amazing.

most of JJPs games blow ass. I would not put confidence into him or stern. doesn't matter who makes it. Until you see the package, there is no guarantee it's going to be worth a shit regardless of theme.

And I wasn't calling you dumb, i'm saying to make a generic blanket statement like that is dumb.

    They've only made three!

so 66.6% of them are garbage.

    33.3% are good (dialed in)

WoZ is better than Dialed In, still. Dialed In can still improve, but WoZ has so much more to offer in modes, multiballs, and gameplay. The only one that's a bonafide turd IMO is Hobbit. Super excited before it came, but was done with it in a month or so. I don't see how it can be improved enough with just software to change my opinion of it. Can't wait to see JJP#4 in less than two months.

I can't stand WOZ. It's a color wheel mess of confusion. Hobbit, I wanted to like so badly. was interested from the first visuals we had, in the very early stages. Played it during every stage. The more it came along, the more I hated it. Rules and display are a shitmess of confusion. Playfield is wide open tundra of nothing. Buttons in the middle of the field in just the right spot to stop a slow rolling ball to go down the center. crap popping up in your face all the time for whatever reason, that you really don't care about. Had a great license, and totally missed the mark. Didn't capture the feel that LOTR had at all, which was the perfect balance between depth, difficulty and letting you know what's going on. JJP is not good at letting you know what's going on. Relys too much on the display, or reading the sears catalogue instruction manual. Not a fan of generic playfields that don't tell you what things do. Just an empty color changing insert, he can change in software to do what he wants whenever he wants. I still like to be able to read my playfields.

I don't like the gameplay either. Not a fan of the layout, not a fan of how it plays or feels. the left outlane feels like judge dredd, which I can't stand. Left side feels useless. right side is covered and only shows the ball at the very last second. Munchkin playfield is not fun. Castle mini is a good time. That's about the most fun in the whole game. I enjoy playing that little corner of the game. the rest I couldn't care less about.

well, now i know what to pick at mad rollin if we are in playoffs together again.

remember, the more I hate a game, the better I do on it in tournament. Mainly because i'm not used to playing a specific one, so i'm not muscle bound to a particular machine.

    Quoted from PinMonk:

You can see the ball on the right through the mini-pf so you know when it's coming before it appears.

you mean through that quarter size hole? :/

i only play them in private collections, as I would not pay money to play either one. All I have played have been leveled and playing correctly with flipper power adjusted properly. All the setup in the world can't save a shitty playfield layout and confusing as all shit ruleset.

But dialed in is pretty good. Gives me the same feel as roadshow did, in the way it played. Easier to understand than the other 2, as the display is used much better and not a shitmess of info.
