Quoted from PghPinballRescue:

That was me looking to see if you guys had come up with a better solution than replacing it with the same value.
JJP is aware of the issue, and my suggestion was to add code to allow the magnet to be run at a lower rating similar to the power levels on flippers and pop bumpers. So keep an eye out on future revisions.

I had my original and a replacement fail after a game or two each. Asked for another replacement a couple times, but never got one. My magent has literally worked for a total of 3 or 4 games and I've owned the game since January. I've given up for now. They clearly don't have a solution at JJP which is mind-boggling.

Quoted from Symonz:

The thermal fuse on my magnet went as well, and have a replacement coil on the way, but I’d like to have a back up if I can.
I’m trying to source a replacement thermal fuse and mount it across the lugs rather than placed alongside the coil itself in order to reduce heat. From what I’ve found online, it appears to be rated at 85deg with +5deg tolerance, but I have no idea of amp rating. Has anyone replaced theirs? Would appreciate any assistance in sourcing a replacement. I’m based in the land down under… Oz. Cheers

The fuse (or switch) pops when the heat exceeds its limit. If you mount it so it's not alongside the coil, it will be useless, as it will never heat up even if the coil is locked on. But at least the damned magnet will work!

If they can't get the hardware to work (and they can't for some damned reason), they should allow the software to compensate for it, maybe a "disable magnet" setting that allows the player to collect the extra ball or "shoot the top lanes" shots needed in a song with an orbit shot.
