Quoted from rai:I’d like to see a closer look at the upper PF in action.
Can someone do a upper PF isolation video so I can see how it shoots? I’m thinking the lock is like tspp couch lock takes some skill to make.
Thanks
The lock is pretty easy to make. Not anything close to TSPP. Sometimes you can just shoot up the ramp and the ball ends up in the lock without using the upper PF flipper. You can cradle the ball up there also.
Quoted from rai:What about the bass ramp is that there for a reason? Do you need to make that shot or is it just an alternate exit?
Yes there is a VUK hole that you shoot. The VUK spits the ball out on the bass wireform.
Quoted from Freakyguy666:I’ll help you understand: The point is the light shows have a tendency to spend the majority of time in certain colors. It’s no coincidence that in most screenshots & videos you see the same colors as the pics I posted. This is programming and can change—but the MAJORITY of time the resulting colors are the red & blue combo (i.e. purplish) shown in the pics.
This is just wrong. The light shows are NOT purple. Just like the armor is not orange. Each song has a unique light show.
Fountain of misinformation.
Guys pinside has great features that allow you to silence posters that you don’t want to see. Not announcing anything specific. Just wanted to make sure you knew
Quoted from Freakyguy666:Thanks for confirming that your embarrassment knows no bounds.
I pointed out facts and you simply ignore them.
“Ignorance is bliss” must be your motto.
Keep telling yourself that “The facts don’t matter—I say it’s “RED” despite all the evidence to the contrary including from the manufacturer & designer” and that you won’t miss the iconic AFD artwork.
Oh but I forgot this is the same person who continually dissed Wonka until they owned it and they suddenly changed their mind.
Sorry but I can’t play a mind trick on myself to ignore the fact. Congrats to those who can!
Please stop with the broken record. We get it. You made your point many many many times.
Quoted from VividPsychosis:I recommend that for every JJP personally. Also jack the legs way way up.’like 7.5 on jjps to make it fast. I’d put the flippers up 1-3 per flipper based on preference. Also increase the main scoop by 1.
I first setup GNR at 7.4 - I think that was too steep because the ball plunge feed was not very nice at that angle, and I was getting a lot of cheap side drains. I went down to about 6.6 and it plays much better. It's still super fast, just plays more "fair" to me.
Line workers are humans. Just because a game is made 3 months into production doesn’t mean it will be perfect. Mistakes will be made. A nut or two won’t be tight, etc.
Quoted from Skyemont:Thanks bro. Boy I was hoping for a GNR Christmas. Looks like that’s impossible while am some SE and LE owners enjoy theirs.
Strange that you thought JJP would deviate from previous titles. CE buyers have always been the last to get it. 3 months is actually the FASTEST a CE buyer has received their game I believe.
Quoted from Vitty:Agree with my man zaphX - JJP needs to take a page out of the Stern playbook and make these CEs very quickly after the first batch of route targeted SEs. Would incentivize some CE sales in the process for people not wanting to wait for the LEs.
Yes. They should get CE models out the door early on. Don’t penalize your best customers. Stern does it right.
Quoted from Skyemont:Not that I saw.
You are right. That was just an LE with a topper
Quoted from magickeys:Mine left the factory yesterday....I'll be on the front porch drinking beer until the second it arrives! I just sent this to the factory....
So awesome. Love it!
Quoted from Skyemont:Those pics are my game room. No living room.
Gameroom, Kitchen, Bedroom. All you need!!
Quoted from Freakyguy666:Thanks for posting that!
Clearly the lights are active but not well-synced....yet. Also interesting that they don’t always match those on the bottom of the cabinet, which tells me they can be programmed independently—a good thing!
One could imagine these lights behaving in a much more complex manner as they interact with not only the gameplay and audio—but with each other! For example, a spotlight moving from the top of the backbox and rolling like a wave all the way down the rearcab and under the main cab towards the player and then reversing all the way back up. Just so many opportunities to take advantage of this especially given the Theme that my only fear is that JJP won’t devote the resources to make the CE exterior light show all it could be.
We’ll see....
But does the light show match the purple armor?
Quoted from rodcom:GNR CE 74 has arrived - beautiful game plays great.
Same sound bar issues as everyone else - no cord and then wrong replacement cord. Not sure it is a bad thing my wife is already complaining about how loud it is...wonder what will happen with the sound bar.
One very small thing on the bass center string the ball seems to get a smidge stuck (doesn’t happen on the left or right). Any suggestions?

How do you adjust the volume with the pingulp in the way?
I don’t understand the solution to the CE soundbar issue. Are they saying you need to swap a board out?
Quoted from bigsepe:Wah wah waaaaaahhhhhh.
Any JJP guys wanna chime in on this?
I’ve been pleasantly patient so far, and will try to continue.
[quoted image][quoted image]
Why don’t you use the other green jack in the middle of the backbox? You will need to split it.
687FFF24-AFF2-4DA3-9C55-9842B006CDFE (resized).jpegQuoted from bigsepe:To be fair, when I left JJP a message about the issue I did mention it may be as simple as that.
However that is not what the instructions tell me to do nor was there a splitter in the wire kits I received. I do appreciate the post as how to get it up and running!
Yeah I’d probably wait for word from JJP. After it exits the PC it goes through a noise filter and into the other board. I’d imagine there is a reason for the sequence.
Quoted from meSz:Wow that's a game that was built on a Monday!
Really makes you wonder what exactly JJP does for Quality Control. With your machine it appears NO ONE tested the topper to see if it worked.
So far all the issues you guys have been sharing are not big issues but in the same sense that's worse as JJP is no longer a startup pinball company. They've been doing this for 10 years now and continue to make startup company mistakes.
Perhaps none of these first 25 CE games have the jack in the instructions.
Quoted from fnosm:I believe but am not 100% sure that the company that makes the protectors is none other than Mirco, who make playfields for JJP and other manufacturers.
https://playfield-protectors.com/
Nope. Different person, different company.
Quoted from Skyemont:Question about jukebox settings. How do you know what song you are about to play? Nothing shows on the screen or anything. You have to remember the lineup??
You can choose “ordered” or shuffle. Ordered plays the songs in order by album.
Quoted from screaminr:I have no problem with horizontal transport .
As thats how the machine will live for most of it's life , with a shaker motor shaking the shit out of it , going over a few bumps in transport can't equal that .
It trips me out to see a pinball machine in the vertical position .
In a container it’s not the actual transport, but the loading and unloading process of it getting to horizontal and back vertical onto a forklift or pallet jack. Lots of chances for it to go slamming down.
Quoted from Skyemont:Only issue I’m having is with the plunger. I can pull it all the way back and it barely makes it past the wire gate to go into play.
In looking at many of the photos from CE owners, it looks like the outside barrel spring is too long to allow the shooter to make good contact with the ball and allow for hitting all the skills shots. Any other CE owners having issues making all the skill shots?
Quoted from zaphX:Yes, I couldn't clear the gate on a full plunge.
I changed out the shooter tip and it helped, but it's still not as controllable/powerful as I'd like. I may change out the shooter spring.
I’d go with a shorter exterior spring first. The Lior skull mod mandated a change to it and looks like JJP didn’t compensate on some factory CE games.
Quoted from Skyemont:To me the kicker in the ball trough is forward to much. It’s not allowing the pinball to rest near the top of the plunger rod. Therefore it’s barely hitting the ball. I can pull it all the way back and it won’t make it to the gate into game play.
That's how mine looked before I installed the shorter spring.
Here is it now working perfect. Not a CE but you can see that it’s not resting on the ball.

On the topic of the topper audio - has anyone experimented with the two internal wire connections that flank the audio jack and power molex?
I first plugged each speaker wire into the nearest jack. However I believe this inverted the L/R audio, which (combined with the cabinet speakers) would defeat the great stereo effects.
My theory is that when viewing the topper from the back, the left speaker wire should go into the right jack and vice versa.
I am about 90% sure I'm right, but it's hard to tell 100% when listening to L/R only test tones, since the cabinet is also playing.
Anyone else able to confirm this?
There are separate wires on the topper for L/R? I thought it was just a 3.5mm jack.
Quoted from Skyemont:Where does this go. Two blue speaker wires from the topper?
[quoted image]
Quite a few posts on this. Look at the connector on the lower left side of the backbox.
Quoted from Indusguys:Is the only way to score big on this game through multiball play? I am not the biggest fan of multiball and I am having trouble finding any other way to play. I typically do very poorly on multiball modes on all my games, basically just flailing around until I am back down to one ball.
Stop flailing. This game will make you better at multi-ball play.
Quoted from PinballGalore:Why have wifi if no computer? All that setup when you could just be using your 4 or 5G network if all you got is a mobile? Typing this on an iPad with no sim option lol
My understanding is that if you have 1.15 - 1.17 WiFi updates won’t work again unless you update to 1.18 via USB. Then WiFi will work for subsequent updates.
Quoted from twenty84:This is a known bug, 1.17 broke the Wifi so you need to do a clean install via USB.
Exactly. A Delta USB upgrade should work fine however.
Quoted from Jecco74:My upper playfield flipper is sticking on several times per game. Any ideas why? I have to hit the flipper button several times to get it unstuck. The bottom flipper does not stick when this happens.
Make sure the flipper rubber isn't digging into the ball guide and sticking. Very common on the upper PF. Adjust the ball guide or get a Superband (thinner).
