Quoted from NeilMcRae:

If they extend it to 600 nobody is going to drop out.

If they extend to 950 no one will drop out

Quoted from jake35:

did you order direct from JJP?

Crazy thing is,
Online ordering is/was up
However distributors have no idea
They are being left in the dark
Waiting for a direct email or call response from JJP sales with regards to a request.
Customer support please JJP

#500 3 years ago

No response as well

Oh I am very patient by the way
The lack of communication is disappointing

#539 3 years ago

In line for a CE , waiting.............................

no update at this tim e Aussie distro has been super benevolent as always`

Quoted from jonesjb:

Got word this week that my CE is locked in and confirmed!

I'm still waiting to hear about my CE.
It would be nice for JJP to open up some line of communication to our distributor please.

#574 3 years ago
Quoted from Skyemont:

Do you guys have specific numbers you requested?

I did request a number right from the get go, however I doubt that will come true.
I would just be happy to know whether i'm in or out so I can move on.
Been patiently waiting for over a month now.
Being on the knifes edge is no fun.

This will be my first JJP and I think the CE would be rad in my line up.

Thanks for the pics GAP
The CE looks awesome

Did you find out if # one going to Eric or Slash ?

I'm guessing the first 20 or more are on some special reserve list perhaps ?

You guys really wanna rush the CEs over Christmas ? Workers are distracted and thinking about other things.
Would you think a little patience may go a long way and give team JJP a well earned rest over the festive season.
They can come back refreshed and focus on the task at hand with more enthusiasm and energy to do a better job, rather than rushing them out the door.
I would rather wait than get a rush job.
We have other pins to play while waiting.
Flame on

#650 3 years ago
Quoted from Rolls-Royce:

Probably they were away for a long time and they’re actually have enthusiasm (not to rush either...), but to keep their business moving specially with a title that has lots of demand.
Obviously this is just my POV, but nothing worst than wait more than normal for something, I had to wait several months to get my Attack From Mars LE in green and it was a very long waiting...

Yes , I understand.
It sure is an anxious time for us hard core pinheads

The line will become more efficient as the team learns from mistakes and finds better ways to complete the assembly and QA tasks.
What is most important to me is the initial quality of materials is first class then the assembly process is completed with utmost care. Harnesses checked for integrity, Nuts tightened, components secured, loctite used where required and so on. Then a strict QA process that knows what problem areas to check.
Having a machine without issues caused by a rushed build for delivery will guarantee customer satisfaction.

#665 3 years ago
Quoted from Yelobird:

I think they are all fun but after playing all I could see not being sold on the SE. Fun game but after you have some time on the LE or CE there was simply to much missing in my opinion. My guess is there will be several SE games up for sale turnover relatively quick where as the LE will stick around most game rooms for some time same with the CE except for a few flippers. Still, an incredibly fun game at any level.

Once all the LEs are built and sold, im guessing by mid 2022 there will be at least 6 new titles from multiple manufacturers by then, there will be plenty LEs changing hands eventually.

Quoted from extraballingtmc:

lol no chance that’s the start date. January 4 would be more realistic imo.

Agree ebtmc
I think a start next year is on the cards.
Perhaps early January would be nice however
CE production can wait till JJP is good and ready.
I don't understand the impatience of some people. You really want this gem to be rushed ? Bet your the first to complain when something is wrong. Don't you have any other games to play in the meantime ?
Slash says have a little patience man.

Yes as per Yelobird and andrewket the soundbar is hardwired.

The instructions on down loaded manual are hard to make out, Resolution not to great for an ol guy like me, I tried to enhance as best I could.

Does the CE come with a printed manual ?
I nicely printed manual is a certainly a nice touch.

That lightening like light show on the playfield must be new. I had the LE for two months and never saw that happen. Looks amazing!

Off the charts !
The coder/s that did/are doing the light shows, I need to buy you guys a beer or 10 !
Wow, just wow

Hopefully JJP will do a shout out for the various team members involved with GnR. They all deserve recognition.

#1231 3 years ago

Ah here we go,
Thanks Pinside
Huge shout out for team GnR.

Back to GnR - one thing that I'm not sure that anyone has mentioned is that if you turn on the adult mode - hang on
It's not slightly adult ... it's full on, in your face, "F" bomb-a-minute adult. Just like it should be
Here's a few more pics[quoted image][quoted image]

This is awesome news ! and thank you for the amazing photo's
Super pumped for this title.

No active lights on the BACKBOX?!? WTF that was supposed to be a CE Feature.

Guessing it may still need code ?

#1325 3 years ago

Interesting way to fire the speakers ?
I'm a bit of an audio freak and cannot understand the logic behind this set up.
How can the mids to highs be clear ?
Perhaps i'm missing something.
I have never seen inside the BB of a JJP, were the previous games set up this way, sound good ?
Anyone care to share a picture of Bbox internals please ?

Quoted from PinMonk:

ur-stream, with most of the temps between 110-115F, well below the threshold for fade.
The crazy thing is that the much smaller left diverter coil (FL-11722, dual wound) beat the 11629 tonight with a 219.9F temp, and all it does is move a diverter. But it's on, holding almost all the time when playing, so even though it's dual wound, it's in "hold" power for probably 60-70% or more of Karl's stream it seemed like. So it doesn't get much time to rest and cool off.

Hi Vic,
I am unable to see streams for some reason
Just wanted to say thanks for your pick up re coil temps
im confused the diverter is cooking ? seems crazy to be on constant hold ?
There has to be a better way

Quoted from Skyemont:

Yes I understand IP, VPN, Mac etc.. I’m putting a WiFi booster in that room to see if the signal is the issue.

There is some good apps that may assist with diagnosing WiFi problems.
Good signal will be required for correct operation, downloads, network play etc.
From what I have read, at this stage the GnR WiFi problems appear to be related to the machines internal hardware and/or software.
I am sure the tech team is aware and addressing this.

With many new machines coming on line this link may help.
https://www.comparitech.com/net-admin/wifi-analyzers/

Edit, It may be in manufacturers best interest to install/code a basic network analyzer or some type of indicator to let the owner know WiFi CH and RSSI into the game.

Quoted from Pinballocd:

Please let me know what you figure out mine is still stuck as well

Have you guys checked how reliable your internet connection is ?
Are you doing a live update or downloading code first and then installing ?
My gut feeling is network connection reliability is super important.
Good luck getting your games sorted.

Quoted from Pinballomatic:

Game hasn’t seen it hit in awhile so it flags it to be checked

I think these auto doctor tests are great, at least JJP are working, its pretty rare for Stern tech alerts to work. I appreciate genuine switch alerts, good work thanks JJP

#2523 3 years ago

Also, hasn't the grade of solder used these day changed to suit UL ? requirements, lead free ?
Apologies I am unsure of legislation requirements of the States or EU. AU seems not so strict . ?
Personally I prefer the ol 60/40 ( less prone to cracking ) leaded solder, however life in electronics is more complicated these days with so many regulations
As I understand mixing solder types is not ideal.

Try not to judge or take out of context, This was the mid 80's remember.

#2648 3 years ago

Is JJP hardware an OS capable of coding / implementing an EQ ?

#2650 3 years ago
Quoted from PinMonk:

It uses Linux, so yes.
Here's a Linux-based equalizer program, for example:
https://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2017/06/install-pulse-effects-ubuntu-ppa

The app looks pretty awesome Vic
I was thinking a little more basic, similar to what Stern does.
Hoping the audio team at JJP might have the resources to implement some basic EQ options would be super cool.
GnR is a super worthy title for some audio upscaling.
No doubt that this would be appreciated by many and once developed could obviously be carried on to future titles.
Hope its in the works

#2725 3 years ago
Quoted from Skyemont:

I tried yesterday and within 1 second it said failed!

Im still leaning towards router protocol issues if you home network signal levels are solid. To fix this would require your home router configuration to be changed.
If you are having ongoing problems with WiFi updates I would highly recommend following LTG's advice and stick to the stick

I gave the boy'z a tune up last week to welcome their new brother from another mother.

Even after crying about crazy pinball prices, I had to have my name down for this title almost 2 years ago.

404 Found ! My first JJP arrived today

Big shout out to the Aussie distro for his patience, tenacity and integrity.

Thanks so much Eric, Slash and team GnR at JJP for a very special pinball machine

Congrats mate!
Pauls a legend!

Cheers, mate.
I find it excellent that Paul will remain so calm and level under such crazy circumstances.
The entire planet has gone off the rails with the covid crap

Paul has gone next level to manage difficult logistics with transport. Just a massive effort ! Thanks Paul.
Again it just shows how true and fair Aussies are.

Quoted from Mattyk:

Please follow up on how well the areas under PETG washers combo with cliffy carbon rings hold up. I was contemplating just using the cliffy and ditching the PETG

No worries,
Will do.
Only around 50 games in so far, I am inspecting regularly. So far so good.
I think that the spread and rigidness of the PETGs will assist with the posts stability.
Locking the 3 posts in the oversized holes is most important.

Love it !

Thanks Eric and Slash

Super cool concept and mech !
Adds excellence to the this title.

Slashs main riff from Coma has been my ringtone for well over a year now

#3366 2 years ago

Hey @PinFever, sorry to see your art torn like that. The Cliffy, PETG and stock washer is holding up fine and no airballs here. As far as ball dynamics are concerned I think if the game has good level and pitch there is no problem adding this washer combination.

#3368 2 years ago
Quoted from wackenhut:

When the machine has pooling around posts, how does it end up getting worse if the ball does not make any contact with the area?

Post movement from the ball hitting it will cause downward pressure at bottom of the post. This will put stress on the clear.

From pictures that I have seen it appears that the clear is too thick and soft on some playfields. My clear appears very thin and is rock hard.
Adding the PETGs increases surface area at bottom of post, minimising movement.
Tighten posts firmly, but do not overtighten.
