I’m in with a CE. #187

Now the wait begins!

#268 3 years ago
Quoted from RichieWrench:

I know that i was wanting to get a second one till I heard what happen and I withdrew my request so to give others a shot.
Crazy what happen - I only hope that they learn from it and this does not happen in the future.

Good on you. I did the same thing. Honestly though, I don’t think JJP was going to send out two games to the same person anyhow.

I know there were more guys like you and I that had our name on two. Hopefully when the dust settles, not too many people are left out of getting a CE.

#284 3 years ago
Quoted from ceterumnet:

I selected 128 for the number of my machine.

Why 128? I picked 187 because I figured my wife will murder me when she finds out what this game cost!

#286 3 years ago
Quoted from zaphX:

I requested 20 for the year of manufacture. (I did 19 for Wonka CE)

That's a good idea.

I actually wanted 85 (GNR formed), then 87 (appetite album), THEN 187 (well...ya know...murder....). Happy with 187 and honestly don't give a shit either way.

#310 3 years ago

CE confirmed here.

#406 3 years ago
Quoted from Freakyguy666:

Here’s an example of the PF Lighting clashing with the cabinet color....not awful but certainly not as great a match as the CE.
[quoted image]

You and Rai should hang out. You’d be a match made in heaven.

I was recently told these are hitting the line next week and they are running all 500 until they move back to LE or SE. I was also told they were hitting the line 3 weeks ago....so........who the hell knows....?

#642 3 years ago
Quoted from fnosm:

Some disti's will say anything and what they say should be remembered and discounted in the future based on their historical performance.

Quoted from Yelobird:

Might consider "Naming" the one with these hot leads and I suspect they will stop pulling your chain! lol

It was direct from someone at JJP both times. I would prefer not to name names.

#658 3 years ago
Quoted from Yelobird:

Then its not a valid story and Likely will continue.

How does that not make it a valid story? I’m taking time to share what I was told directly from JJP. That’s not valid since I won’t name their names since I know they likely aren’t supposed to share that information?

Got it. I’ll just keep it to myself next time...

Quoted from Concretehardt:

Sheesh for 20k I would sell mine, pay all my medical deductibles for 2021 and buy an LE!

Ha! No kiddin. If someone wants to buy mine for $20k, hit me up!

Quoted from DorkVonWaterfall:

isn`t it just 3d printed crap?

Yes. And I agree with you. It seems like everyone with a computer and 3D printer went into business making mods. They look cheap. I dislike seeing all those little lines in the mod.

Sculpted mods on the other hand are pretty cool. The stuff like Matt from Back alley does or the stuff Lior does.

This 3D printed plastic on the other hand, I’ll just never understand why someone would want to put that overpriced, cheap Looking, grainy plastic, on such a beautiful game.

To each their own...

Quoted from MT45:

Someone had asked for a video of the attract mode showing the new undercab and behind the backbox RGBW controlled lights
Here is a 60 second video that has most of the attract lighting action

Damn. That really is pretty incredible. Awesome coding by JJP.

#1702 3 years ago

Excellent post MT45. Thanks for sharing!

Quoted from andrewket:

Got the call to schedule delivery. They offered up Monday and Tuesday. As much as it pained me I had to delay to Wednesday due to the storm that’s hitting the east coast Sunday-Monday. To get my pin into my basement I have to cut across my backyard, and it will be impossible to do that with snow. One day earlier and I would have had GNR to play during the storm. Damnit!

Definitely not impossible. I snow blow a path through the snow around my house all winter! You gotta improvise!

My distributor requested final payment on December 29. I made the payment and have heard nothing since. I sure wish I had that money in the market right now...

Quoted from TaTa:

Somebody posted in the owners thread that they're shipping out SEs next week. I'm still waiting to hear for my paid in full from JPP

I’m going to be a pretty bummed customer if this is true. I was ask to pay in full 1.5 months ago and have heard nothing since.

#2955 3 years ago

I’ve gotta agree with this. I don’t like the posters plastered all over the side. It looks too busy. I love the powder coating, but the art just kills the LE for me.

CE for the win.

#2958 3 years ago
Quoted from Rolls-Royce:

I love those posters to be honest, I thought that the LE was the CE because of that when I saw the pics for the 1st time. The LE is a beautiful machine in my POV..... but I insist... the goddamned Coma Lock should have been in all 3 games man! There’s no reason to leave that nice touch just for the CE.
... each night this game gives me a lot of happiness NightTrain , my purple CE is bolted 100% in my house besides WOZ Yellow Brick Road, period!

That’s the beautiful thing about JJP GNR. There is a game for everybody’s taste and price level!

#3077 3 years ago

That is genius.

I don't have a 3D printer. If anyone is willing to print one of these for me, please shoot me a PM. I can pay you for your time/shipping/product.

#3080 3 years ago
Quoted from PinFever:

send the spec to JJP and have them send us one..lol . I was hoping , didnt get to it but to make that pop more sensitive. Would that work ?

Yeah that would be a lot better I suppose. It is a design flaw. Would be nice if they made the fix and sent it out.

#3084 3 years ago
Quoted from zaphX:

I like the idea - that area is indeed a problem. I worry though about the ball striking the post at pop-bumper velocity with no rubber to absorb the impact.
I had a fix that worked by putting a clear cabinet bumper on the pop skirt such that the ball couldn't rest in that nook.
It worked well but eventually came off.
On the topic of gameplay mods...I am frequently frustrated by balls that make it on top of the left plastic then into the drain.
I have been thinking of putting a post on one of the nuts holding the plastic down, and putting a rubber on there.

I’ve had a few of those too. I think it’s happening after hitting the left ramp left standup.

I think I saw someone made a clear shield to block the ball from being able to get on top of that plastic.

#3103 3 years ago

Count me in if you’re going to sell this.

#3108 3 years ago
Quoted from Mattyk:

I bet you could cut this to work. Home Depot sells for $3.50
[quoted image]

Yeah that’s not a bad idea!

#3116 3 years ago

Yes

#3168 2 years ago

Just made my own today. Really easy to do. The wife was heading to Home Depot so I told her to grab one of those wall corner strips. Balls can’t fit through now. One nut to remove and slap it on.

This mod is so easy to make, it’s ridiculous. The plastic strip I bought was $2.50 and took me 10 minutes to whip up. Give it a shot guys!

#3177 2 years ago

For sure. Sorry my pics are sideways. You get the idea!

Played a few hours since the install and watched it save a ball twice. Awesome!

#3184 2 years ago

Those are pretty neat. Maybe a bit much on top of the machine.

Take that towel off the game! That play field is a work of art. It’s like covering up the Mona Lisa!

#3186 2 years ago
Quoted from PinballGalore:

Hahah this was during the days my game was waiting to be turned on after i toasted the varistor. Cover will serve its purpose, my games can sometimes stand untouched for weeks at a time

Every time I see someone cover their game up, I cry a little inside.

#3188 2 years ago
Quoted from PinMonk:

Yeah, I'm on it. The plan is to go with 1/8" PETG so it will be durable, and I'm going to initially try having the screw for the post with the circular plastic go through it instead of cutting around it so the part's secured on both ends.

I'm not sure I'd go that route. I was going to do this as well. You have to remove that entire left side plastic to get to the nut on the bottom of the plastic. When you remove the nuts on the left side, they screw on the bolts that actually slide into the Hot Rail. Lining those bolts back up inside the Hot Rail, with the holes in the plastic, would be a pain in the ass.

Maybe I'm missing something. Take a look at it and let me know what you think. I just decided to go the route of cutting out a notch for the post. The ball would only ever hit the protector from the one side, so I didn't think it would be necessary to have it secured in two points.

#3191 2 years ago
Quoted from PinMonk:

That's what test fittings are for. It *seems* like just removing the two nuts on the bottom end of the plastic should give you room to lift the plastic and get a needlenose plier under to hold the nut and move the post up enough to slide the bracket under. I have no problem with iterating until the best solution is arrived at.

Yeah I thought about that too. Didn’t want to damage the plastic though.

#3212 2 years ago
Quoted from Skyemont:

I was hoping I would not join this particular club but I’m in. I’m pissed and sad at the same time. GNRCE with a quick look over has these issues with the playfield. Left outlane and upper playfield. I put a ticket in. Has anyone had any communication with JJP about their CE?
[quoted image][quoted image]

That is insane. JJP needs to send you a populated playfield for a swap. Nothing less. It's not a matter of should they do that, they NEED to do it. The machine is faulty.

#3215 2 years ago
Quoted from fooflighter:

The populated one wil have the exact same issue, the Mirco process is flawed, right now it's washer's, preventative maintenance, or hold off buying

Hold off on buying isn't an option, since he already bought the machine.

As far as the populated play field having the same issue, you're right. It would. JJP needs to ditch mirco and find a new manufacturer. Then they need to stand behind these failed products and make the customer whole. If they don't start taking care of customers, this kind of customer service will eventually catch up with them. It always does.

#3339 2 years ago

I don't have any. Why do you need a picture?

I don't think a rubber there would help. I installed the clear PETG washers under my posts and it's been great. I would try to iron yours out and put one of those washers down.

If you really want a picture, I can sure take one for you. It looks the same as yours though, except there is no pooling.
