Quoted from Pinball-NJA:

Yes I did. I pilled the lcd out and made sure all black cables were attached firmly,
I will attempt again tonight.

If re-downloading the iso doesn't help, maybe try a different USB stick? I know the stick size and brand can cause problems sometimes. Probably need to start a keypost of brands/model/sizes that are confirmed to work and which have proven problematic.

Crisis adverted, I was able to reconnect to the wifi and give the download another try.
Success.
Thank you folks.

Following. I'm getting my delivered tomorrow too! What number are you?

#341 was delivered last week and loving the game.
This is my 1st JJP and absolutely amazed on the quality.
I have read a lot about increasing flipper power. Any suggestions if I need to increase flipper power on any of the flippers.

There is a W shaped metal gate on the left ramp. It should be clicking the arm of a microswitch when it is passed.
Has one side popped out and prevented the switch actuation?

Cliffies installed. Takes a bunch of finesse to get the fiber glass doughnut around the diverter to upper playfield other than that it's a slow tedious 3 hour job to get the upper playfield off and the protectors in place. Note I had to trim the scoop cliffie at the back as they push up against the two up and down posts for upper guitar neck ball locks.

Any gotchas about the disassembly we should know? What did you trim it with?

Did you add the cliff Switch Slot protectors or just the cliff GNR kit

pretty straight forward. I followed the removal of upper playfield guide from Vitty. I used very sharp scissors to trim the back of the scoop cliffy as it rubs up against the two moving posts that lock the upper balls onto the guitar neck. If you dont have issue with the diverter screws hitting the wood, dont' bother with that one as took the longest to get into position

did not do the cliff switch slots as don't think they need them. just did what's in pics!

Yeah I was lucky on that front and won't need to deal with it, the screws were not contacting and I moved them immediately to make sure they never do.

I agree that switch slots are not likely needed; Wonka and POTC needed them because the ball drops directly on the slot caused damage over time. Guns drops the ball on solid wood above the slot.

Is there supposed to be a spring here? This is the upper playfield flipper that is sticking on my CE.

Check the coil stop. The spring looks okay where it's visible.

You have one. See the thin red line above it in the picture.

Be sure the flipper bat has a tiny bit of up and down play ( not back and forth ).

GnR CE Folks! Excited to announce an update to the Scorbit app, v1.0.25, and a major uplift to ScorbitVision! This includes new leaderboards, new app features, and more.

Details in the Scorbit thread:

#3072 3 years ago

Revised Tibetan Breeze brackets are done, fitted and temp tested. I'll start slowly rolling them out to the jjGnR Tibetan Breeze kit domestic backorders this coming week. Once domestic are out, I'll do international, then open it up for new orders. Unfortunately with this side-mount Spike-style bracket, I have to make sure the brackets fit and customize the fit for each JJP if required, so this is ONLY for jjGnR at first.

#3073 3 years ago

Just got my call. Tomorrow is the big day for ce#188, serial #52.
Yes, a game that came off the first or second week of ce production is only now reaching its final destination. The gnr forum pages on pinside have made the wait bearable, I may even miss the waiting period on this title.

I don't have a 3D printer. If anyone is willing to print one of these for me, please shoot me a PM. I can pay you for your time/shipping/product.

#3078 3 years ago

I have the same issues with the ball just resting on the pop and that post. I was wondering thicker rubber but maybe also try the 3d rpinted part.

#3079 3 years ago

send the spec to JJP and have them send us one..lol . I was hoping , didnt get to it but to make that pop more sensitive. Would that work ?

Yeah that would be a lot better I suppose. It is a design flaw. Would be nice if they made the fix and sent it out.

#3081 3 years ago

I like the idea - that area is indeed a problem. I worry though about the ball striking the post at pop-bumper velocity with no rubber to absorb the impact.

I had a fix that worked by putting a clear cabinet bumper on the pop skirt such that the ball couldn't rest in that nook.
It worked well but eventually came off.

On the topic of gameplay mods...I am frequently frustrated by balls that make it on top of the left plastic then into the drain.
I have been thinking of putting a post on one of the nuts holding the plastic down, and putting a rubber on there.

I have experienced the same issue. My thought was they needed some type of clear plastic guard there. Something like they have in WOZ. I get air balls that go all sorts of places.

Are your flippers boosted? Maybe turn them down a bit, that one looks like it got there by sheer force.

I’ve had a few of those too. I think it’s happening after hitting the left ramp left standup.

I think I saw someone made a clear shield to block the ball from being able to get on top of that plastic.

#3085 3 years ago

"" I get air balls that go all sorts of places."

I do not get airballs much at all. If you changed your flipper rubbers be sure they are not the culprit . allot of times they are so tight it creates a bottom lip if not stretched just right and launches balls . the only times i get air balls are during wild multiballs ,which there are allot of but even in MB i do not get them that often .. Check flipper rubbers

Everything is stock at the moment. The stand up targets cause most of the air balls. Left ramp targets cause more than the right.

Just keep an eye out. I'll post in the thread when the orders open back up. I'm trying to keep a handle on them until I'm sure everything's kosher with the new design, so I'll probably open again, take some more orders, then close, repeat. Domestic orders from the original set are starting to go out this week.

I did this but in reverse for Pirates: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/jjpirates-of-the-caribbean-troubleshooting-tips-issues/page/50#post-5423069

Was super simple, but did require more than the manual would have indicated

i have fixed that problem like this. Have not lost a ball like that since i put it in and I can barely see it when playing. Hell i had trouble finding an angle to get it on picture.
