I think he was just talking some random stuff but in the beginning Todd mentions an Inside Out pinball. How cool of a theme could that be? I mean the whole movie is about a pinball addict and how they store all their memories as pinballs in their mind.

This game... Or some upcoming game, needs to tie into an app on your phone.

Imagine getting an alert: "Hey BOB, pinhead JEK just beat your Grand Champion score on Dialed-In at Bill's Barcade on Broadway."

Followed up with a location or operator customized message: "If you can beat JEK within the next 5 days Bill's Barcade will give you a --FREE SODA AND FRIES--"

Or how about this one: "Hey PAT, come back to Bill's Barcade and get a free game on Dialed-In. Offer expires in 7 days."

Or maybe even: "Player JEK has invited you to compete 1v1 at Bill's Barcade on 10/1/16 @ 8:00pm. Do you accept this challenge?"

---Insert Meme Guy Accepting Challenge Here---

Pinball manufacturers need to try and start winning the hearts and minds of people who have not only grown up with the internet, but social media also. The only way to do that is by integrating peoples phones into the games somehow. This also would give operators new marketing avenues and potential for revenue growth. Could Pat Lawlor and Jersey Jack be the first to successfully explore this? I guess we'll find out soon enough!

Quoted from Crash:

You missed what matters most: text message maintenance alerts for operators....THAT would be revolutionary.

Yeah that would be amazing!

Quoted from merccat:

I think what dissapointed me the most was that I was left confused about what it was supposed to be. I see a cell phone, bob the builder, future city, einstein theatre, a spider man insert, wizard blocks inserts, drones doing package delivery and I'm left wondering what the heck ties all these things together.

This sums up my feelings perfectly.

Has anyone started a pre-order club post yet? All these other threads have mostly become bitch fests. It's fine to go ranting about how Jack and Gary are destroying pinball and these games all suck but I'd like to filter that out from more constructive and interesting conversations about the game.

Quoted from Baiter:

It's a shame this detail needs to be repeated multiple times in every Dialed In thread.

It is a shame but ultimately JJP hasn't ::cough cough:: dialed-in their marketing efforts. The primary message I got from JJP before and during the launch was that it was a Pat Lawlor game and it involved phones somehow.

Stick a phone toy in there plus a guy holding a phone and boom people think "it's a phone game!"

Now obviously we know they've thought the game and it's theme out really well... But they have to message that to people and that's where they've missed the mark. Throw in the sticker shock of $9k and all the angst makes perfect sense. I hope they adjust price by at least $500 and figure out how to promote their games better.
