Yeah, I can F ing hear you now because I own a F ing I phone and not an exploder POS Samsung.
In fact, I just bought my Expo pins with Apple stock $$$, thank you very much F ing Samdung.
If you listened, bought in the 90's two months ago, now its $118 ladies.

DEEP DIVE = Nuclear Powered Submarine with nukes.
Lower playfield is filled with water or something like it.
You have to flip the balls in the water based lower playfiled into the holes to launch the missiles before some one DIALS IN to stop the launch.
(Vivid imagination - this is my guess..not what it truly is) or is it?

Everyone of those still sounds better than cell phones. Unless its about losing ur cell phone and the week of joy and bliss that would commence while waiting to get a new one, that might work. 
For those who are married to their phones, I guess it's scary when you have 2% battery power left. It would be funny if that was a mode... low battery and aspects of the pin begins to shut down until you hit certain targets to get your battery charged.

If it has some sci-fi included in the theme that would be something unique/different.
What if you use a cell phone to select different ways to play the game ? Different music ? Different voices doing call outs ? Multiballs ? No multiballs ? Timed game ? Not a timed game ? Or ask the game for advice to improve your play ? Machine giving you a hard time, machine being nice to you ?

One thing for sure, if we are spending around $8 to 10 grand on a pinball machine we do not want it to rely on 2016 cell phone technology. Based on my observations of computers and cell phones, in 20 years we will not be using the same bluetooth and wifi protocols we use today. I expect a pinball machine to work as long as I maintain them regardless of technology changes. I hope JJP is taking that into consideration with this game design whatever it ends up being.

My cell phone doesn't even go into the pin gulp
It isn't allowed in my man cave
Just good tunes, pinball and beer
And only as a last resort to my computer running out of battery
If this pin is cell phone centric then this is one non buyer at this time
My phone controls music via Bluetooth and wifi, that's one thing I can get behind, is having control of the ambient sound

Someone mentioned Safecracker 2 - which I don't think is likely - but I do think he will utilise the JJP screen in a similar way, ie make an interactive game up there somehow. He has form with using the backbox also with Banzai Run (in a more physical way of course)

I would guess that phone capabilities are a new JJP feature included with Pat Lawler's new pin that has nothing to do with phones besides it being a new JJP feature.
I have no knowledge of anything to do with leaks excect for all the GD pinside rumors.

Why use a phone to do any of this? These kinds of options could just as easily be selected using game controls.

Well that would be fun playing a physical game remotely considering the inevitable time lag. 
Kind of reminds me of the German (I guess it was actually Austrian) TV gameshow "Super-Flip" from the late 80s: You dialed in by phone and if you were chosen you could play live pinball on the TV screen, activating the flippers by shouting "FLIP" into the phone.
I really really hope this game does not require or involve any kind of real world cell- or smartphone in gameplay.

I know the english language is kind of strange in that we have multiple possible meanings for seemingly the same word but it is what it is.
