The ability to hype should be reflective of what actually happens/ gets announced. The vast majority of the fun yet wildly speculative guesses in this thread revolve around Pat Lawlor doing a non-liscensed #3 for JJP. Anything less will likely be a disappointment for many. A proper hype machine needs to deliver the goods along with the hype and needs to do so in the right amount of time from hype to announcment. It is a fine art and both Dutch Pinbal and JJP seems to not be very good at figuring out the equation...

I agree. Making an announcement of an announcement is lame and just sets yourself up for disappointment. I think PPS got it right when they announced MMR. Just make the epic announcement when it's ready to be made.
I really hope the announcement lives up to the hype and is indeed PL designing JJP game #3, but I have a feeling it will probably be something Hobbit related.-Perhaps Benedict Cumberbatch doing voice calls?
Some of you guys are hard to please. I think this is a great announcement! The only thing I'm not excited to see is what the price tag will be. Arguably the best pinball designer of all time is coming back to design an original themed game with fewer budget/creativity restraints than he was given with Stern. And you know he's almost assuredly bringing Youssi in to do the artwork and Granner for sound. Lawlor, Youssi, Estes, Keefer and Granner is about as "Epic" of a design team that you could have.
Someone should start a poll about what would be more epic:
1. Lawlor with his dream team doing an original theme or
2. Balcer doing a Harry Potter or Zombie theme
I'll go with #1 any day of the week.
