In my opinion the only way a new SW pin is "epic" is if JJP is allowed the full collection to choose material from. I haven't researched recently the distribution rights of the first 6 movies, but I believe that 20th century fox has those rights, Disney owns the IP but that includes any likenesses and so on and movie distribution from here on out ie Episode 7+. If Disney doesn't have rights to distribute the first 6 films wouldn't that hinder the material JJP could pick for the LCD stuff? I am not sure an Episode 7 pin would be so "EPIC". Secondarily isn't Stern in bed with Disney? I mean POTC, TRON, X-Men (Disney bought Marvel), Avengers..

All of this "epic" definition really ignores the fact of how it came into its current usage via 4chan circa 2008.

Yes, these days "epic" and "awesome" are synonymous. Sadly.
(And "awesome" has itself been watered down to contain no element of "awe." Also sad.)
Thought of another possibility - hobbit pinball release bumped up to earlier in the year. Maybe with adding assets from movie 3 with a software update later. Just a guess based on the apparent need to push games out the door and start making some money.

Hmmm, well if he makes the announcement in regards to being in London I'm thinking its going to be about one of the three things.
1. 3rd pin is Harry Potter, JK Rowling lives in England, all the films were shot over there.
2. 3rd pin is Star Wars, Episode 7 is being filmed in England.
3. JJP has hired one or more of The Hobbit actors to do custom voice work and / or custom video capturing for Hobbit pinball.

He was always going to be in London for EAG so not sure if the announcement is necessarily linked to the UK

Star Wars doesn't really make much sense for #3, seeing as the film isn't really close to actually filming, and the source material will be virtually unknown and subject to significant likely delays, for quite some time now.
I don't think the London thing has anything to do with it.

Its not really meant for most of pinside. Its meant for the super high end collector or WOZ fan. Its mainly marketed with the 75th annivarsary WOZ stuff.
