It takes time. Back then WOZ's were on the small line. Hobbits and then the Black Arrow Hobbit were on the main line.
Then test all the prototypes that are out there. Finalize improvements. Start ordering parts.
Then make some changes to assembly line. Get everything in que. Train some people for differences from previous games. Slowly start assembly. Check measure each and every piece and each step. Then slowly start them down the line. Again measuring and checking everything.
Not to mention the low quantities of parts needed as compared to millions in other industries. And playfields and parts get made in the order they are received and paid for. Fortunately JJP now has suppliers they can count on so less delays and mistakes.
Heck, I can't understand why they aren't done with Dialed In and have the next game on the line ?

Lift playfield up and lean back. Remove the rubber on the end of the plunger. Remove the metal E clip holding the washers and springs in place. Watch the spring and everything fly off the end and who knows where. Find the clip, spring, and washers. Remove the plunger. Swap spring and washer to new plunger. ( knob - spring - washer , in that order ) stick the plunger back in. Then on the inside put washer - spring - E clip - rubber tip.
Refer to page C-28 in the manual to where and what order things go.
