Quoted from o-din:

A game themed after the Disneyland ride from 1967? I'm not sure I understand the overall want for something like this, but I can see the possibilities

If we're going for Disneyland rides, how about "Adventures Through Inner Space" brought to you by Monsanto.
Rode on that a bunch of times because it didn't require any tickets. Monsanto's sponsorship covered the fare.

Loved Space Mountain, but those fricken E tickets were expensive. I think we pooled all our cheaper tickets to ride it or something like that. IDK, my memory is hazy. That was my 5th birthday in September 1977. It was good to be a really tall 5 year old. Barely made the height requirement and hung on for dear life. But I digress.

Quoted from o-din:

The Spin Out where if somebody barfed it came back and hit them in the face. They just took that out a few years ago.

Loved the spin out. The goal was to try and get as high up on the wall as possible, while the operator kept yelling "keep your feet on the ground". Always preferred Magic Mountain over Disneyland.

Quoted from o-din:

I was really bummed when they took out the Log Jammer a few years ago. I always loved to do some Log Jamming.

With Bunny and Karl Hungus.

Quoted from o-din:

They ruined it when they put those shoulder restraints that beat the crap out of your ears. But I hear they are gone now.

That thing was so fun. I heard it got moved to Mexico.

Loved mountain express. They used to feature it in a starburst commercial. I only went on it once then it broke down. They got rid of it a few month later.

Yeah, they ruined Revolution. It hurt too much to ride.

Quoted from o-din:

What's real burly is having lived thru the early days of Magic Mountain and going up there now and riding Tatsu and Goliath along with some of the others. You can keep X-2 though. That thing's painful. Twisted Colossus is awesome.
Wish they would have kept Deja Vu too as that thing was a blast.

It is very easy to lose your wallet, keys, or phone on Tatsu.

Never got to ride Deja Vu. There was a 6'3 height restriction.

I think a King Kong pin would be a disappointment to most. We would all speculate on all the ways that Kong would interact with the ball similar to the speculation of how Smaug would interact with the ball.

The finished product would probably be a head with stand up targets beneath it.

Quoted from o-din:

I picture a big head like on Godzilla. "You're in...his mouth!"

Sounds like a Python design.

I'm just not feeling it yet after putting quite a few games on it. There just isn't enough feedback after making successful shots. Both visual and sound "wowness". Hopefully this will get better. What won't get better is the flipper system JJP uses. If I could use the flippers from my TWD on POTC it would make the game so much better. Nice, crisp, responsive flippers that can easily make all the ramps and long shots would be nice. Upping the flipper power doesn't seem to fix that problem. I'm not a big fan of Stern's Star Wars but what they do get right is it has good shot feedback both visuallly and with sound effects. Dialed In suffers from the same problem. It would be cool if someone here could splice the Stern flipper system into the JJP games.

Quoted from bigd1979:

I like jjp flippers over every other company except wpc but they are basically the same.

I just don't see how anyone could possibly prefer jjp or Wpc to the current Stern flipper system (assuming they are working properly). For the longest time, I was a wpc fanboy and tried to fool myself into thinking everything Bally/Williams was way better than Stern. At some point, I just had to admit to myself that the Stern flipper system was superior. As for the Jjp flipper system being the same as Wpc, I can "feel" that it is inferior. Wpc flippers are definitely better.
