Quoted from aingide:The one thing I’m wondering about is if someone with no rule knowledge can step up and still have a great time without being overwhelmed?
Great point! Many of us play our machines with friends and relatives that are not huge pinball fans. We rarely talk on Inside about how accessible these games are for newbies. We all want more folks to get into pinball, but are we setting the entry threshold too high when it comes to rules?
I know that this is complete guesswork, but what is a reasonable delivery expectation for an LE order placed at TPF - October or November?
I played Pirates many times during TPF and was blown away by it, as was my wife. This game has so much going on and is so well integrated into the whole pirate experience. Tons of fun and I just kept coming back for more despite the three games having consistently long lines.
We spoke with all the JJP folks and with Christopher from KingPin Games and ordered an LE from him. I think it is a hidden blessing that they did not get the rights to unlimited movie clips. Instead, JJP got very creative in producing screen content that is useful to the shooter and not just entertaining for bystanders. They have found a way to use this and the small compass screen below the flippers to guide you through an immense game. The fun level is unbelievable!
I am confused about what is being done with the discs. Doesn't the video show three discs moving in the new version, just like the original? I can see that there are art changes, but what is the difference in the disc motion? It seems like what he is saying doesn't match what the video is showing.
EDIT: Please disregard; I just found the other thread.
