Quoted from Charliew65:

rumored Expo.....i think

Which Expo?

POTC might work but I know a lot of people who are really worn out on the theme, and Depp is starting to become a turnoff. I could see a reaction similar to what I heard for The Hobbit, ie "what do you mean this just came out?"

I'd love to see a Toy Story pin that focused on Buzz Lightyear, which would have a great blend of themes - kidsy and jokey, but also with tons of cool space adventure stuff and an opportunity for some legitimate sci-fi spectacle and loads of (literal) toys - eg, put the little alien guys on the bumpers and have The Claw pick up the balls for a physical ball lock.

BTTF would draw people like flies to honey.

Forget the licensed themes. Keep the originals coming. PLEASE!

This too!

I wanna see the other two ideas Lawlor has, lmao.

#250 2 years ago

Haha I mean, I could see the reaction for both, but I think there's more cultural goodwill towards the Toy Story franchise given that it hasn't become an icon for Hollywood budget inflation like Pirates has, even if people are wearying on Pixar sequels.

I don't know why they need to release an R-rated pin, there's a billion great themes and concepts that would be PG-13 at most.

Everyone I know is incredibly sick of Pirates.

Bugs Life was Pixar's second movie.

Quoted from TheFamilyArcade:

Would you mind walking me through some Pinball rule scenarios for a Toy Story game? What would make the game really compelling in your opinion?

I could imagine a pin that's themed after one of the space adventures Buzz Lightyear is meant to have had. You know, defeat Zurg, lock a ball with THE CLAW, get help from the other Toy Story characters (it could even be the space adventure Buzz thinks he's on in the first movie). The Buzz Lightyear rides all have cool visual elements, so I could see that being a huge bonus, especially in barcades and dark environments where a blacklight or other creative lighting effects might be used.

edit: I mean, come on, a Mrs Nesbit mode? Everything goes pink and wonky until you get Buzz's arm back?

If you want titties, go to redtube.

Quoted from dirtbag66:

And by the way, I will not support anything with Johnny Depp's likeness after the "jokes" he made about a certain someone who currently resides in the White House.

Yeah, it was a pretty unfunny joke. I've always been partial to variations on "other than that, how was the play?"

God, I hate RPO, it's like an utterly unironic and uncritical version of American Psycho. The endless lists of media with entry-level wikipedia descriptions, the boilerplate story, the shabby twists, the crummy dialogue, the flat characters. It's Twilight for guys who still think Monty Python is obscure.

Quoted from Rondogg:

Or, a bunch of awkward unrehearsed speeches followed by the game announcement to a stunned, silent audience. Then comes the price announcement as the audience murmurs their disapproval. All captured by the most choppy/low rez stream you have ever seen. Basically, like last year.

God I hope not, that was gutwrenchingly awkward.

Concentric spinning disks? Woah. That's cool.

#1937 2 years ago

I was so not excited for this but woah some of these features??

#1940 2 years ago

That disc is so effing cool.

Keith Johnson. Code base is insane. I can't explain it.

How about this:

I love that the operator can take the upper playfield out with one screw, that's extremely cool.

Are you saying I should give up on my plans to develop and market a Silly Symphonies spanking machine?

#2621 2 years ago

In a way I almost prefer it, it means they have to be a little creative and it can be more relevant to the ride. The display is incredibly elegant, as well.
