JJP#4 looks great. I saw the promo materials w/o pricing. Not gonna reveal it, or share my secret, unless Jack or Jen wants to know how I found out. Nobody tipped me off, I did my own sleuthing. I think people will be pleased. JAM PACKED. Super excited for the reveal video.

#1436 2 years ago
Quoted from spfxted:

You're not "toying" with us, arrrrrrrrrr you?

I'm not toying with anyone, dead serious.

#1439 2 years ago
Quoted from KozMckPinball:

You could reveal the sleuthing method.

If I did, that avenue may be closed up and not available for me to explore next time.

Quoted from thewool:

Give us a clue then!

I can't give a clue, because the Pinside crowd is too savvy.

I don't want to reveal it because I respect JJP and how tight lipped they've managed to keep this. So I will not reveal it to anyone, under any circumstance$. Just excited to not have to wait for the stream, but still waiting eagerly for the stream anyway.

#1442 2 years ago

It should steal the show. Features galore. Regardless of what theme anyone wants or is hoping, they really seemed to have upped their game even more.

#1445 2 years ago
Quoted from thewool:

Ah he mentioned 'steal' and 'galore'. Two words used in the Harry Potter movies!!

The same could be said about those words with the Muppets.

#1451 2 years ago
Quoted from Yoko2una:

At this point, I'm hoping it doesn't leak at all

That's why I'm keeping my mouth shut. I don't even think $100K could get me talking. Still just as eager and excited for the reveal this evening as I was before I figured it out.

#1453 2 years ago

Let's hope the print shop employees don't lose their job. It wasn't them who leaked it either. Nobody leaked it to me. I just wanted to see this thread blow up some more. It's been a wild ride.

#1457 2 years ago
Quoted from jfh:

How about $101k?

That's $1000 more tempting than $100,000.

#1459 2 years ago

Oops, I just discovered the pricing too...

#1468 2 years ago
Quoted from KozMckPinball:

Which means you are online sleuthing

No, it means I did not notice the pricing on the one print / marketing materials comparison matrix with all models when I first looked.

#1473 2 years ago
Quoted from GotAQuestion:

I'm wondering if the thing sevenrites saw is embedded into the page code on JJP's site somewhere

Good guess, but wrong.

#1488 2 years ago

Nothing to see here, move along...

Quoted from Mfsrc791:

How many PM's are you getting right now

If I had $1 for each one I'd call it a day.

5 subway return entry points as well.

#1875 2 years ago
Quoted from bigd1979:

So different art on playfields depending on the model? Wonder whats on the le playfield... we seen the standard and ce.....

I thought the art on SE and LE were the same and the CE had different playfield art.

#1881 2 years ago
Quoted from PinCrush:

Does that playfield in the back corner rock back and forth?

"variable speed rocking upper play field"

#1886 2 years ago

I still can't believe how many features are packed into this thing. Already have a list ready to drop in here w/ the differences between the models noted.

#1889 2 years ago

Yeah trim color, lighting, toys, etc. change between SE and LE but not play field art.

#1892 2 years ago

Woohoo, just got notified the stream is about to go live.

Quoted from bigd1979:

Looks like the standard is missing the 72 leds behind the chest.

Correct on the 72 leds, that's LE and CE. Looks like most stuff is almost the same but wait till you see what they did to enhance certain parts between models. Looks like new stuff I've never seen on a pinball.

#1919 2 years ago

For those not watching the stream for whatever reason -

Company execs introduced, talk about JJP just getting started with plans to go for generations. A bit of a back story on Jack's vision, the road to where they are today, and leading into what's to come. Built up Dev team, improved manufacturing, still want to be better and hit the market faster and that is the plan. They just mentioned all 3 of their games being in the Pinside top 100.

That rocking upper play field is awesome

#1941 2 years ago

Plunder another player's points or ball... Disc is ridiculous!

#1948 2 years ago

Deepest, seemingly neverending code ever

#1957 2 years ago

This thing is a beauty in so many ways. Now we're getting the good HD gameplay stream.

pinballstar so Joe, when's the official PinballSTAR JJP POTC release party for us east coasters? Count me in.

#2173 2 years ago
Quoted from tacshose:

Is there any reason to go CE over LE if you don't care about Davy Jones Art and Armor?

The following extra features are only on the CE:

POTC color barnacle covered body armor and legs
CE custom hand drawn Davy Jones art package
Special CE attract mode animation
Moving ship in a bottle topper
CE Backglass Art
RadCals instead of Hi Gloss UV ink
Printed manual

* EDIT -> also on LE: Stereo headphone jack w/ independent user adjustable volume controls

#2177 2 years ago
Quoted from RobertWinter:

Headphone jack is on the LE too.

Good catch. Swap that out with CE Backglass Art and RadCals instead of Hi Gloss UV ink. Also adds a printed manual.

#2187 2 years ago

If Stern keeps cutting features from games and continues to release them with less and less code, they might as well rebrand as Zizzle. It's a shame JJP didn't get Star Wars. #5 is gonna be sweet as well. There isn't a JJP game I wouldn't want to own.

#2197 2 years ago
Quoted from HoakyPoaky:

Tilt remaining inserts on the playfield.

Another subtle, yet super kick ass feature. I haven't seen anything like that on any other games. Also 2 ways to save the ball from drains.

Looks to me like the LE is the best value, the CE just doesn't have enough extras I care about since it's mostly looks and cosmetics and gameplay isn't affected. I also like the extras in the LE that aren't in the SE and think they're well worth the extra $1000. But if I were a true collector, I'd definitely go for the CE anyway because it's more about rarity and etc at that point I think.

#2237 2 years ago
Quoted from TKDalumni:

How do the different combinations on the 3 spinning discs work

They help randomize different things so there's more options and variety available in the gameplay. Some things were "plunder an opponents ball" and different scoring multiplier combos, etc. So instead of 1 disc landing on something, it's a combination of where all 3 discs land to get the end result.
