Quoted from AbeVigoda:

I think the thing about RPO that people loved was all the nostalgia callbacks. Imagine that book without all the 80s references, just story only. Would you like that? If so, go for it.

Totally agree. The story is kinda "been-there-done-that," especially if you have seen The Matrix, Terminator, Or read Ender's Game.. anyway. But to put it together (it made me think of the Lego Dimensions game, if anybody's played that) was pretty novel

Quoted from o-din:

I'm not sure how Jaws, a story that includes adultery between two of the main characters, would really gel with JJP, a company that is more known for it's wholesome, family friendly themes.

Theme: jaws the film, not Jaws the novel

Quoted from o-din:

Yeah well, to this day I can't watch the film without picturing Hooper and Ellen Brody having their intimate encounter somewhere between drinking all that wine and cutting open the shark.

LOL. The exact moment my mom was imagining when she wouldn't let me see the movie, and was horrified when she learned I read the book! Haha the irony

Quoted from o-din:

Seriously, I just finished reading it right before the release of the movie. But I don't remember the book preparing me for that head popping out the side of the boat.

Ben Gardner! He's not in the book; they cast the guy who played him; a real Martha's Vineyard fisherman in order to have him write Quint's lines

Quoted from o-din:

Yeah and in the book Hooper got eaten by the shark didn't he? How'd they go and mess that up?

Last minute decision by Zanuck and Brown; they talked Spielberg into it. Check out "the shark is still working". God I love Jaws.

Before they ruined it.

oops, always check you are referring to the right game before posting a snarky comment

Quoted from o-din:

Cedar's the king now. After the Northridge quake took out a lot of the rides, I don't think they can build them much taller than they are now. You never know though...

And ever since the original owners sold to the conglomerate, they are making TONS of money. what does food cost now? $870?!

Quoted from clg:

I believe jack said something like a title every 9 months, it was less than 2 a year though. I suspect they will do the same as with DI, put it on location for a while for testing and then start rolling them out after a bit.

It would seem to me that a reveal and marketing of another game would cannibalize the one that was just released (??) or do I not get marketing at all?

Quoted from cait001:

Pixar's Up!!!! Dream theme!
