Quoted from iceman44:

Isn't Eric the guy that fixed the Woz light board issues. Electrical engineer background?

That, and much more.

Quoted from vireland:

Weird. I know I've tried uploading them before and the animation was just stripped out and/or nonfunctional. Good to know!

You can't use them for your avatar.

Quoted from Rondogg:

What in their first three releases, makes you think that they have done any market research at all?

Why is it when I read your posts, I hear Negan saying it ?

Quoted from RichieWrench:

I know it probably to late, But I would like to throw my RICHIE WRENCH Pinball into the mix - It is about a young plumber man just trying to make it thru the days by unclogging sinks and making everyday repairs. I think the code could be good and deep if the right person put their heart into this project. I would waive any license fees and would offer my voice as Richie Wrench to help keep the cost down. Just a thought ......

It could have a cell phone so you could text Joe at Star Amusements, after hours. The more texts, the bigger the bonus.

Quoted from Whysnow:

Toss on top of all this that he has be tutored by the cemented best designer in all of pinball ever (yes, Pat cemented that with DI) and Pat has even said that Eric is a big part of the reason DI turned out so solid.

And Ted Estes and Keith Johnson for input.

Quoted from Whysnow:

I honestly just am hoping the theme is something that really let Eric shine!

I believe Eric will knock it out of the park and be the start of a great pinball designer future. Something sorely needed as the present designers age.

Yes, I've been working like a madman on JJP#4. See you at Expo.

That game is going to be crazy great !

Quoted from vicjw66:

The finished product would probably be a head with stand up targets beneath it.

And gorilla fur all over the playfield.

All captured by the most choppy/low rez stream you have ever seen.

Jack Danger does better than that, doesn't he ?

Quoted from RichieWrench:

if I am correct it is three hours before.....its at 5:00 for the CE Owners and distributer and special guest or whom ever they invite. I am going to preshow and pretty excited to see the game

I'm sad. I didn't get an invite.

Quoted from KingBW:

Just inputting some info here that I heard first hand from the designer himself.

Please remember it all takes time. Arrange the parts, inspect them. Get the assembly line in order. Practice the steps to build. Start to build. Measure and check, etc. etc. Slowly get up to speed.

No idea if they'll roll some prototypes or test games down the line first.

So when production does start. It could take a little time before Jack does the first games leaving in a semi truck and trailer cartwheels.

Quoted from Jackontherocks:

They should have gotten the rights to use all video clips in the movies and with the actors faces.

My understanding is the actors or actresses own the rights to their audio and video. So times 23, this would be near impossible. Add to that get Disney approval for each and every one, every time used.

That sounds like a nightmare of epic proportions.

Quoted from Jackontherocks:

Just curious to know what it would have cost or especially Johnny Deep parts for the game.

No idea. But I think of the nightmare involved. Some of these clowns want a million dollars. You settle on something less. Pay it. Make it. Present it to Disney for approval. Disney says NO. A lot of money and resources wasted, times twenty three actors and actresses.

I think JJP came up with the right formula to get the game made and did an amazing job. Some very creative ideas and work.

Quoted from NimblePin:

Everybody’s heard of Costco right?
They take pretty much everything back.
If you’re not happy 100% with a product they sell, you can bring it back, even without the original receipt, and even if it’s past what the manufacturer deems is “too late.”
It’s just how they roll.

If JJP had Costco's income, they'd roll different too.

Quoted from NimblePin:

Good customer service keeps people coming back, period.

I am sorry you didn't get what you wanted direct.

For your pinball needs ( not necessarily JJP ) try Chris at Kingpin Games. He posts here. Bends over backwards to make his customers happy.

I hope JJP sent one POTC proto to europe already.

Things don't happen on their own. Anyone contact JJP about this ?

Quoted from Psw757:

Would just be nice to see a MFG go all in on whatever it takes to secure all licenses and make it a true collector edition and charge whatever it takes.

But the cost could be horrendous. Deal with each individual actor or actress. And that is the first part. Okay. Rights were bought. Times twenty three. Some cheaper than others. Times 23 all the attorneys and what not to do it.

Then show one of the twenty three parts to Disney. Audio or video. And Disney says no. ( think back to the hell Stern's POTC went through ) then try and fix what ever to get it in, or delete it.

This isn't hundreds more per game. This is thousands more per game.

If this could have been done reasonable. I'm sure Jersey Jack Pinball would have done it.

As it is. JJP is working with what they have. And have some of the best people there ever was doing it. And are working hard to make a great game.

Quoted from Vino:

then why revisit?

There were other reasons in the deal.

Quoted from Vino:

JJP must have known what direction they were going in

Probably not until design and planning started.

Quoted from Vino:

and how to work around it.

They did. JJPPOTC got high praise at it's Expo debut.

Quoted from SwimLaw:

JJP is looking to that as an excuse to cut corners where they shouldn't be cut.

This has already been discussed to death. And no, JJP isn't looking to cut corners. And Disney isn't the main issue either, at least when it comes to the actors and actresses.

Quoted from PinballTilt:

I'll just say that. I went to the pirates seminar by the programmer and my takeaway was Disney would not let them use movie clips with actors, or they would have.

One correction.

Disney could not, not would not. For some strange reason on the POTC movies. The actors and actresses own the rights to their audio and video, not Disney.

Were they forced to take POTC in order to acquire the rights for another title? Package deal?

Stuff like that.

Quoted from Mike_J:

Imagine how much cash JJP would take in if they went with Tron? Since they have already rehashed one Stern/Disney title, why not another?

We weren't there. We don't know what was on the table, or know if there were other choices.

Has anyone heard an update as to when POTC will start shipping?

No. I check the Facebook page daily for any action, or especially Jack doing a cartwheel as the first truck load goes out.
