I always get a kick out of the suggestions people have for new pinball machines. It's almost as if they just type whatever comes to their mind at the time.

"Have you ever seen the movie Six String Samurai? Awesome flick. Totally low budget. Sold about 13 tickets when it was being shown on one screen in Chicago. Would make a great pin!"

"My buddy plays in a band called Bubba and the Pickled Monkies. They play mostly other people's stuff, but sometimes they play original songs. No one but their close friends and family have ever heard of them, but JJP or Stern should totally make a pin about them!"

Enough already!

And by the way, I will not support anything with Johnny Depp's likeness after the "jokes" he made about a certain someone who currently resides in the White House.

Quoted from vireland:

I hope they have a fully produced video this time, learning from the Dialed In reveal disaster.

If you thought that reveal was a disaster, wait until all these people expecting Toy Story, James Bond or Harry Potter find out it's just another Pirates of the Carribean game.

Quoted from merccat:

Is there going to be an awesome promo trailer when revealed?

I plan on being there, front and center, just like I was for Dialed In. I'll post as much info and as many pictures as possible!

Quoted from pinmaniac:

Loving my Dialed In, but I hope JJP learned from the Dialed In expo presentation and this one is handled better.

I think the thing that killed the mood at last year's reveal was the fact the theme had already been leaked here on Pinside. Then once we entered the room we were all handed the Dialed In comic book. So before the cover was taken off the machine, we already had a good idea of what was underneath.

I'm holding out hope that the rumor of game #4 being Pirates of the Caribbean is just a red herring, and that they shock us all with something totally out of nowhere.

Quoted from Bugsy:

Let's be honest. Who here wouldn't want to bash Blanche?

Quoted from rubberducks:

There still seems to be significant demand for WOZ ...

Yep. I was interested in a NIB Standard WOZ but was told the assembly lines were being used primarily on DI. So I had to "settle" for a used ECLE (less than 200 plays) for a few hundred bucks less than a NIB Standard. Oh well.

Quoted from Procrastinator:

Well I could be wrong, but heard it from the horses mouth so to say. It is POTC.

It's a pretty poorly kept secret.

I just hope they don't make us leave the room again before the reveal like last year. I got to the room at the tail end of the Ghostbusters seminar to get a good seat. Then, as soon as Jack shows up, he tells everyone that in order to make the reveal work, we all need to step outside. He wasn't joking. So I left my hoodie on my chair to reserve it!

I'm holding out hope that the Pirates of the Caribbean "leak" was just a red herring to throw us off the scent of the REAL reveal. Something totally out of left field that will leave the crowd stunned. Jersey Jack proudly presents: Expo Drama: The Pinball Game. Get the balls locked before Mike yells at you, causing you to claim you will never attend again! The bash toy can be a Spooky pinball machine. Would only take one or two hits before it crumbles under the playfield!

I know, I'm delusional. But a man can hope, right?

Quoted from Rarehero:

You're a GB lover, so your opinion on pinball is fundamentally irrelevant. Newbs like you love GB because you haven't experienced all the great games out there. Play some more games, you'll understand what a vomit box GB is one day.

Why? What does the movement offer? Unlike BDK/B'66 crane or Mick-on-a-stick, the game doesn't know where Slimer is, so his side to side movement is meaningless.

Yeah, GB owners! Not by people who've actually played pinball. They barely work, and when they do, they sometimes swirl the ball to a stop, so it falls straight down the middle. Not what slings are supposed to do.

No, it's true. Slings do a certain thing. Magna slings fuck it up.

Played it tons to convince myself it wasn't a piece of shit. I know what the goggles do. They show a few different ghosts & a child porn guy's cat. They don't fundamentally add anything to the gameplay. Pure visual gimmick.

It's a ramp.

I'm always right. Sorry you like playing garbage for some reason.

Man, reading all of that was so satisfying. And I'm indifferent on GB!

I just hope they don't make us all leave the room again to "make the reveal the best it can be". Translation: we need to clear the front row seats so Jack's investor buddies can sit there!

People are for sure going to get there super early (like me), so I don't want to lose my seat!

#1392 1 year ago

Geez, someone merely mentions boobs and the inner Harvey Weinstein comes out of all of you guys.

Relax. It was a gif.

#1554 1 year ago

$5 via PayPal friends and family for anyone who can PM me legit pictures of the new game!

#1565 1 year ago

My offer still stands. $5 for a picture of the new game!

#1579 1 year ago

Well, it's officially leaked!

#1635 1 year ago

I'll reserve my judgement until I have seen it play, but for now it seems like there is a curse on the even numbered games at JJP.

1 WoZ
2 Hobbit
3 Dialed In
4 Uhhh, look up
5 Toy Story? (Take my money!)

200+ different rewards on the spinning disc!

Was that a Harry Potter slip up?!?

#1963 1 year ago

Played one ball. Drained after 15 seconds. Game totally sucks.

Place is buzzing!

JJP bringing excitement back to pinball in a BIG way!

#2467 1 year ago
Quoted from TRAMD:

As the excitement has died down some, I still have an LE on order but I have some concerns.
1. I don't recall hearing possibly the best property related to PotC: of course I mean Hans Zimmer's amazing score. Did I just miss this? I didn't watch the entire stream.
2. I also didn't see many clips from the movies. Are there plans to increase this?
3. The multitude of modes sounds cool at first but I fear it may make them overall mostly forgettable just like I feel most of The Hobbit's modes are.

The code is probably at like 10-20% complete. Look for more clips, sounds, modes, etc. as the game matures.

Had a chance to actually play three balls today (only played one on Thursday, too crowded).

Only gripe I have with the game is this:

At the beginning you are tasked with selecting your character. Very cool that they all have their own unique abilities in the game! Anyway, someone who doesn't know about the action button is naturally going to press the start button once they have found a character they like. Wouldn't you know it? You're now playing a two player game. I made the mistake as did plenty of others.

Small gripe, but if this game is on location and there are more than one credit in the machine, a first time player is going to start a two player game when they might not necessarily want to.
