    All,

When can we expect #4 announcement?

    Tim

    #3 7 years ago

Tell Eric to scrap everything he's doing and build a "Rick and Morty" themed game.

This would put GB to shame

    #4 7 years ago

Does the podcast mention an announcement date or anything? I can't listen to the whole hour and a half right now but would like to read what the "HUGE NEWS" from the description was.

Edit: Or is the huge news that Eric is the designer? That's definitely great news but I think OP was looking for any teasers about the next game besides who is making it.

    My guess is expo 2017...

    Quoted from Pinball-Pat:

    My guess is expo 2017...

That's my wild speculating guess too. JJP wants to put out at least 1 game per year, per Jack in previous interviews. That would be a full year from the Dialed In announcement and would be a good competitive showing in Stern's back yard (so to speak).

    #7 7 years ago

At some point, JJP is going to have to get out of the cycle of one machine every year (or so). I hope they announce prior to expo. Hopeful? Probably

    #8 7 years ago

Game #4? My question is. Has Dialed In started shipping yet? Has anyone here bought one?

    Toy Story!

    Nope.

    No Toy story!

    arrr!

Willie Wonka and the chocolate factory meets Pee Wee Herman?

    #13 7 years ago

Dialed In is almost ready to go on the production line but right now Hobbit is still running.

    Muppets? POTC?

    #15 7 years ago

Some kind of baby boomer rage bingo - twerking selfie Bieber theme that gives you participation awards.

    #16 7 years ago

If it's Harry Potter, that will be $X000 (or maybe $1X000??) zapped right out of my coffers.

    #17 7 years ago

    Oops wrong thread.

+1 on that ... unless it is more expensive than DI.

Been known for a while that another JJP title is expected in 2017. https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/next-jjp-theme-for-2017

Been off Pinside for about 6 months. Didn't know.

Lots of Toy Story at the start of that link. It ain't #4.

So it ain't #4. That means it could be #5?

    Quoted from arcademojo:

Or #6, or #20, or who knows. Crap happens. Acquiring Hobbit license put two others on hold.

Timing comes into play when decisions are made.

I sure hope Toy Story is made eventually. June 21, 2019 is when Toy Story 4 is released, so naturally would make sense to wait until then.

    #25 7 years ago

I sure hope #4 is Harry Potter with Keith on code That would be epic.

Unveil at Expo this year by dimming the lights, fog machine starts, then Keith comes out dressed as Dumbledore, says some spell and the machine is right there. Crowd goes nuts.

If they make Superman I'm buying two CEs.

    #27 7 years ago

Guardians of the Galaxy would be huge for JJP.

If #4 is not Harry Potter, Muppets, Toy Story, or POTC then my guess would be the original Willy Wonka. The theme is available as seen by the slot machines in the casinos.

After JJP figures out they are only going to sell 300 units of "Dialed my Grandmother", they will need to recoupe development costs which will lead to a rethemed pin called, "Dialed my Aunt". After that fails, they will be on the verge of Bankruptcy and will retheme the game one last time to, "Call Da Damn Bitch" featuring the voice of Samuel L Jackson. This pin will be a huge success and will sell 50k units. So game #4 is technically, "Dialed my Aunt".

    Rocky Horror Picture Show......

I'd preorder a Harry Potter CE pretty much right up to BM66 SLE prices. It's the one theme I've accepted I would pay "irresponsible amounts" for.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but a Harry Potter pinball would probably be a huge boon to the industry. i have heard at least a half dozen times from non-pinball owners that if a HP was to be made, it would be their first pinball purchase. I'm in my early thirties, and HP is incredibly popular with my generation. Go to HP world at universal and you will see a sea of people all ages, some going as far as dressing up. Not my thing, but shows you the passion surrounding the HP brand. Personally, I would order day 1 and get the highest model available without hesitation. HP is Probably the only thing that would be able to compete with a Star Wars pinball, gameplay and art being roughly equal. Exciting times, hopefully it comes to fruition someday.

    Agreed

Imagine Keith code for a Harry Potter pin! 5 objective based modes for each of the 7 years with a mini wizard mode for each year and a final super wizard mode for completing all 35 modes and 7 mini wizard modes. Take my money now! lol

Jack and others associated with JJP have denied other themes over the past year or two...but never Harry Potter I think its going to happen and I think that JJP's incredible work on WOZ and TH helped convince Warner Bros and JK Rowling that the theme and its characters can be trusted to a company like JJP.

Also, Warner Bros owns the rights to Wizard of Oz, distributed The Hobbit films, and owns the rights to...the Harry Potter films! Yup, it's going to happen (fingers crossed).

    #34 7 years ago

I would love to see them come up with a way to have the ramps move around like the staircases from the films

    #35 7 years ago

I have ZERO interest in Harry Potter as a theme, however it sure seems as though the material is perfect for a pin. I would never *not* buy a pin due to theme alone so It will be interesting to see it get fleshed out.

I'm not sure what everyone's obsession is with harry potter. Think that movie came out when I was in high school, maybe if I was ten years younger and had a nostalgic feel for it, like toy story or something. Even then I'm not sure I would buy one, the game would have to be pretty amazing. Some of those little kid movies aren't bad. That one always seemed a little gay to me, then again I've never seen it or read the books. I did see parts of a couple of the movies and as suspected... .

Regardeless, if they decide to come out with a harry potter pin, I hope they sell a bunch of them so they can continue with another title.

I was hoping JJP would get the Star Wars license ….

    You are not alone.

Now the only hope we have is if the force is with Lyman doing the code and the playfields stop falling apart.

    #39 7 years ago

My guess is a new POTC machine based on the new movie that's coming out this Summer. That just fits the kind of machine that Jack likes to do as it's great for the whole family. It's just a hunch based on no evidence but I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet. POTC was an excellent seller for Stern and now that a decade has passed it is probably time to take another crack at it.

Will likely be Ritchie/Sullivan as Lyman and Steve haven't worked together since ACDC. It will sell regardless of who is on code.

    #41 7 years ago

I'm pretty sure Jack specifically said they will NOT be doing POTC.

    #42 7 years ago

I still want to see JJP to do a music themed pin & just copied management for an artist and JJP in an email with my request.

Expo ? Long way off... There's a whole lot of Dialed In before that...

Joe lets see some new video of the new dialed in code. You have any?

They can fill the playfield with unused "Obama phones"!

    Yellow Submarine or Muppets?

    #49 7 years ago

I could be down for Spy vs. Spy or would be alright with Muppets too.

    #50 7 years ago

First JJP music pin? My vote would be Michael Jackson if they could get the license. They would have to open a new factory to keep up with orders.
