For most of you in Oklahoma or that have lived in Oklahoma in early October we lost a crown jewel of the pinball community. Jimmy Hefner passed away on October 9th. He was 52. He was so much more than my repair guy...he was a true friend. If there was a machine in Oklahoma he probably had something to do with fixing it. He was always fair and honest and just a genuine person.
First 2 machines I ever purchased were from him. I'll never forget seeing the KISS and Charlie's Angels come to life in his house and loaded on the back of my truck and brought home. He always had great stories, funny stories and just a great outlook on life. His family meant the world to him and like I said more than anything else we have lost a friend not to mention so much knowledge and history of the game. He was never stumped and didn't waste time, effort or energy on fixing a machine. Just a few weeks before he passed away he came out to the house, fired up the machine and instantly knew the issue, fixed it in about 5 minutes and then we sat there in my kitchen for an hour just shooting the crap.
I'll forever miss the "What piece of junk did you buy this time?" when I would call and he wouldn't even say "Hello". But that was Jimmy. Funny as hell and I'll always cherish the time spent together...not the fact that he fixed my piece of junk.
Fly on brother...fly on. Hope it's ok to post a Go Fund Me that was started for his family. It's been HUGELY successful and that right there shows the impact he had on all of us as a person.
Damn I'm gonna miss my friend...
