Quoted from Annelise:

It's great to the restoration process of this beautiful game! From a newbie's perspective, it looks like half the fun of collecting pin games is the steps of restoration, seeing the engineering that went into a game, & getting to know it piece by piece.
Question about PM games & Jig-Saw in particular: How deep is the cabinet?
I just bought a Jig-Saw auction online & I am thrilled to get it home soon!
I'm debating whether I should have it shipped by a specialist or take a road trip out of state to pack & drive it home, if it'll fit in my small SUV.
It is in "original working condition" and I'd like to keep it that way without overspending on shipping only to have it damaged en route.

If packed properly, a Jigsaw can be mailed via FedEx or UPS, insured, for between $80 and $130 to a commercial address within the continental USA. I've done so several times for Rockola and other similarly sized games.

Cardboard should be placed between the glass and the playfield. Alternatively, leave the glass behind and just buy a new tempered sheet locally.

Even a professional pack-and-ship facility would likely cost $250, $100 less than STI.

Check out my Pinside thread: shipping: the good, bad and the ugly. Search those words to locate the thread. Bob Cunningham and Fast Eddie are both excellent options for delivering games, if they cover your geography. Their contact information is included in that thread. Good luck.

Quoted from way2wyrd:

Reassembly begins after a good wax. No poly on this one

To take these prewar playfields to next level, I apply Howard's Feed & Wax. It replenishes the dry wood and won't harm the graphics.
