Anyone tried this type of cleaner as a fast way to brighten up acorn speed nuts and PF hardware? I have a tumbler and electrosonic cleaner already.

Its a very light cleaner....Like a teaspoon full of simple green in this size is equal, or a pinch of ultradust, in powder.
(Its a Money Maker for Jewelry Stores to sell)

Cleaning is one step in the Ultrasonic.
Polishing is another and a medium gloss, suitable for many, can come from a tumbler.
    Hand Polishing is next.
Plating or clear coating is last if/where needed.

one of my many many many ex girlfriends had the little jar with the basket in it. it definately was not a simple green type of cleaner. you didnt want to get your face to close to it or you got a big whiff of the nasties. it was some caustic smelling stuff.

The MSDS for Goddard's Silver Dip which might or might not be the same product shows thiourea as the active ingredient. Which apparently is specific to silver and won't help brighten steel.

For giggles, the MSDS for "ShineBrite Silver Dip Cleaner" says it's 90% "Hydrogen Hydroxide"
