The Nifty LED guys had their Iron Man VE show up without any legs. I thought it was funny. They didn't laugh as much as I did.

Leg arrived today. All good now.

Was it marked "f-r-a-g-I-l-e"?

Bought 2 brand new pins NIB from pinball company Starwars LE & Hobbit LE. Both came last week and the stern was in perfect condition and is a great game. The Hobbit came with a back box that does not line up with the cabinet, I could barley lock it in place, a left rail that does not line up as seen in these photos. I put the right rail photo in also so people could see the difference. There is also about 8 different chips in the cabinet and various scratches on the NIB Pin. I don't know how the mechanical or electrical is because I did not want to turn it on and get blamed for something, but I have heard plenty looking at these forums. I talked to Frank at Jersey Jack and he said they would give me 200 dollars to replace the shooter. Are you kidding me. I paid 8500 for a new pin and they tell me this is common for a new pin and they will not replace it. At least the Pinball company has agreed to take the pin back and refund my money in full. JJP should have replaced this pin with a new one that is "NEW". It is too bad because the PIN would be awesome but the customer serivice at JPP is terrible. I thank them for the competition they brought to the market to force Stern to get better with the technology but JJP is going to have to do more that that to stay afloat when they treat customers like this. I had slated money to buy another pin but will I wait for Stern to come up with something like the Star Wars pin or JJP to step up to the plate and make good on the damaged pin I got from them.

I hope you told JJP what they can do with the $200.

Great job by The Pinball Co. in making things right.

Dumb question: Did you take out the foam blocks?

#110 1 year ago

So the rail and backbox is not aligned...is it as easy as loosening the screws/bolts, aligning them and re-tightening them? Certainly understand the "chips" (don't see them in the pictures) but the misalignment seems to be an easy fix, no?

As for not buying another JJP, I wish you luck with STERN as there have been "horror stories" with their NIB games as well and the buyers not even receiving a response from Stern nonetheless an offer to refund money!

In short, whether JJP, STERN, Spooky etc. there will be issues with NIB machines as it happens! It sucks but it's going to happen!

Wait till something fails on your game that has been a know issue with 5 different board revisions. Stern will replace for free or fix the issue and send you a new one and JJP will charge you.
At least that has been my experience.

I'm a massive Stern fan, but will acknowledge that customer service from JJP is near flawless.
I expect had you escalated the issue, they would have replaced the pin.
Sorry to hear your woes. Glad you got it resolved.
Don't let this taint your perception of JJP!

I had something similar happen to me on a Hobbit Smaug. Ultimately got it resolved. PM me if you want details....I have several very highly rated pins (at least on inside), and this pin is incredible....mine played great out of the box....

I can see the difference in the rails and it looks like there is a crack in the back. I wonder if something happened during shipping.

If you bought it from a distributor, isn't it correct that they should be the ones replacing it?

yeah, jersey jack... you only had ONE job! so go send that last leg to the OP and then you can finally go retire. no more running a huge amusement device manufacturer that you built from scratch.

Wow dude. My post was almost a month ago......yet you pop in now with a snide remark? The OP was designed to be funny but illustrate that "one Job" is to deliver an $8,000 game with one of the most important parts (Which is a large one at that). I get it....you go buy a new car and one of the wheels is missing from the factory. You'll just say "it's ok Ford, no big deal at all"? I think not.
