    Quoted from MrBally:

What is the significance of that?

    Neopotism maybe?

    Quoted from too-many-pins:

I don't have a dog in this race and basically will never buy a new machine myself but I think everyone is missing one important point. JJP having investors my turn out to be a very bad thing for JJP and pinball overall. The problem with investors is now Jacks first concern will be keeping investors happy and this likely will not be a good thing.
From my past experiences dealing with several great smaller companies over the years. When they we owned and run by one guy products were great and kept improving but after any of these other guys took on investors quality went down, prices went up, and I no longer deal with any of those companies. Hopefully this will not be the case with Jack but common sense tells me when you are borrowing money you need to keep the people happy that gave you the $$$. And to do that normally cost money that has to come from somewhere.
    Just my 2 cents here!
Two great examples of my point are Kibbi Renegade Motorhomes and Goldrush Trailers.
15 years ago both were owned by individuals but as their companies grew they took on investors. In 2001 I bought a great motorhome from Kibbi for around $160,000 (well built & fairly priced for a heavy duty Class 8 motorhome). A couple years later the owner took on investors and now all they build is high end $500,000 rigs. (Their new rigs are pretty but quality is not near as good and they cost 3 times as much).
Goldrush Trailers went the same direction about 2 or 3 years later.
Nothing like the owner controlling everything but once you have investors - they are really the ones calling the shots.

Investors should be the ones calling some of the shots. But the alternative would be Jack can't cash flow and then there won't be any pins coming out his factory floor.
