The pinwoofer kit was a game-changer for me too. I think I can get by without it on Bond, but it's a must for Jaws.

Actually, it was incredible on bond. Check out his new amp, it's pretty cool.

His new amp is similar to the new pinsound from TPF. Curious when people get both how they will stack up.
Has anyone had an upper playfield flipper go rogue and does anyone know if this is a simple fix? It's getting held up about halfway down in this position. The flipper still "works" and extends fully up but won't go all the way down. It's definitely mechanical because it's sticking when the machine is off. I'm newer to the hobby and haven't had to repair a flipper yet so hopefully this is not too difficult lol
fsdfdbdbfd (resized).pngThat’s happened to me twice this past year, and both times the spring had broken off (but they were older pins).
Quoted from swampfire:That’s happened to me twice this past year, and both times the spring had broken off (but they were older pins).
It appears you are correct. On second inspection I found the spring dangling back there. So this is going to require purchasing replacement spring, removing the upper playfield and then just a simple swap correct?
pasted_image (resized).pngThanks for the help. Does anyone know the part number for the spring itself? I am having a hard time finding one for the mini flipper on Pinball Life

You might be able to remove the old one and bend a new loop in the end with needle nose pliers so you can still play, then maybe order a few so you can replace this one and have a few spares

Guessing it's a standard Stern spring?

Still debating on if i want to swap mine into my Pro. I REALLY love the OG movie poster image.

The pro version is the only translite that will work for me. I had one for my Premium before it even arrived. The only thing that could top it would be the LE.

Yeah I bought the Franchi version at TPF 2 years ago in anticipation for the game having a bad factory one. I didn’t know they were going to use the iconic image for the translite.
Hi everybody. I'm new to the group. I got my Jaws Premium last week. I'm slowly learning the rules on .89, and I've launched Shark Hunter a few times, but I'm not really sure how. I think I saw Quint's shack light up light blue, and I got the ball in there, but I'm not sure how that lit up. Any help?

One of the Fish Finder awards will light the right ramp for Video Mode (Shark Hunter Game).

ahh, thank you very much. I was scouring through Tilt forum searching for "Shark Hunter" and couldn't find it. Light Video Mode it is

Id love to buy a franchi translite if anyone is selling!

I like the franchi artwork but I’m old school and I’m not sure anything could top that epic jaws movie poster art. Absolutely iconic and the mirrored version on my LE helps when I think about how over priced it is. I just love the way it looks.

I like that the premium has the best of both worlds, since you have the movie poster art on the sides of the backbox and drawn art on the translite. I grew up when pinball was always art, so I like the drawn art.
Quoted from Jace:Hey guys. When do you think stern will start selling the toppers? Any ideas what it would be?
No one knows. Someone posted earlier about game settings inside the code that alluded to two toppers: an Amity sign topper and shark attack topper. George Gomez said the John Wick topper would likely release next, then Venom. It will probably be a while for Jaws.
Incase anyone wanted to see the game with white flipper bats. I choose clear for most of the playfield not done yet. Upper playfield red translucent. Wizard Mod flipper decals for anyone interested in those. Just waiting on a couple more things. Tasteful mods is my priority.

Ok thanks.
Just picked up the fascinating 5-pound tome, 'JAWS: Memories from Martha's Vineyard' (2011, 294 pages). I've seen this movie so many times since it's 1975 debut, I know every line in it. But so much background of it's making remains largely unknown or forgotten. For instance, how many times Mrs. Kintner (Lee Fiero) had to actually slap Roy Scheider to get the right take? Would love to see those cuttings, or just one in the game videos. She recounts shooting this scene in the book:
"I had been taught how to slap in theater. You do it with a loose wrist, and that's what I did. But 17 times in one day? Steven (Spielberg) took me off my mark and said, 'Lee, you're losing your freshness. Do you know what to do to get it back?' I said 'Yes'. Then I slapped Roy so hard his glasses went flying'".

They should use the slap scene in an alternate tilt graphic, lol
Quoted from Laserbeak21:They should use the slap scene in an alternate tilt graphic, lol
LOL. Brilliant! I'd pay for a code mod for that!
Quoted from dboeren:I'm in the same situation here, deciding between Jaws and Bond (and also Foo). Thing is, I'm very confident that a Pro is all I need for Bond or Foo but I'm not sure on Jaws if the Premium might be worth getting which makes that option more expensive. All the local places just have Pros, but there's an LE across town that I need to get over and play in order to help me decide. Also, the Pro has better decorative mods you can add to it with the Real Bruce and ORCA.
Also, if you can wait long enough there will be HUO Jaws on the used market eventually and you can save some bucks. Bond has used copies now so maybe get Bond first and Jaws next year or whatever? I really think you can't go wrong with either game.
I was in this dilemma - Bond, Foo or Jaws. I ended up buying a Jaws and a used Foo Fighters from a local seller after selling a couple pins I had. Bond I love the theme, the code is mature but the game length worried me I'd get it and play it for a few months and then be bored. Foo the shot geometry is interesting and flow of the shots are a lot of fun, code is finished and honestly I am not a big Foo music fan but damn is it fun. Foo Area 51 upper playfield I think is nice
but I also think I'd be happy with a Pro too.
Jaws to me is the best of both worlds - theme integration, interesting shots, theatrical score with more code updates I think it gets better and better. I personally would get a Jaws Premium and maybe look at the used market - upper playfield shot and flipper up there is worth it on the Premium. Recent code added an interesting selection option after hitting the upper reel. I still play Foo Fighters regularly but Jaws is the pin where I'm like damn I need to play that again and that's with the code being early in its life cycle..
As promised, here’s my mind map for Jaws - I haven’t done one of these in a long time. Because the code is so deep, some details are missing, but hopefully I captured 90% of the game. The way I use this is to print it out and laminate it, then give it to new players so they know how to get started.
Feedback is welcome - I know this can be improved. Found one already - “Quint’s Shank”, lol

Tilt Forums is my go-to for any new game, but I like to see the basics in a diagram. I did Congo and NASCAR too. I think Walking Dead will be next.

Curious, how hard would it be to get the premium to look like an LE (white rails, backglasa, speakers etc..). Anyone gone down this path on the mod side?

Hey, I did some custom cards for Jaws. I’m happy to take what you’ve done, add the backgrounds and upload new cards for everyone. Would that be alright?

I bought white powder coat armor from pinballife and my premium looks way better now!
IMG_5287 (resized).jpegPlus, the premium has the original movie art on the side of the backbox, which goes well with the translite.

It’s really meant to be viewed on a full sheet of paper, but knock yourself out. I’m going to fix a few things tomorrow, if you want to wait for that update. I’ll update the pic in the post above.

Stern website sells them. Some distributors as well.
Hey chums!!
Another early 3am paint day! Always need more prep parts to fill orders which is great!
Chum buckets with realistic blood and guts …uck! You can almost smell it! Detailed right down to the 5gal bucket handles.
Hey Chums!!
Double tanks for left slingshots and single tanks for the uppers. These are designed and hand painted and have a sweet water slide decal for the aqua-lung dive tank and valve sets to match the movie, clips, playfield artwork and theme! I mean there’s a tank right next to it in the playfield to match up with for continuity.
Takes time but love the end results and the seamless look and feel in the game.

On the premium/Le model, when the machine is in either attract mode or after a game has been played, does Bruce stay popped up, or does he retreat under BG’s boat?
Quoted from Hawks:On the premium/Le model, when the machine is in either attract mode or after a game has been played, does Bruce stay popped up, or does he retreat under the BG’s boat?
I believe I've had it do both, stay up or down. not 100% sure but I can play a few games and check.
.

Out. After a game it takes a few mins and Bruce will pop out and stay out.
Might have already been mentioned in the forum but I don’t recall it. But one other thing to check on the reel spinner is that the post on top of it is clearing the return wire for the right ramp.
Mine had been working perfectly out of the box but then started to not spin as well the past couple days. I checked it out and the post was grazing the wire form. I gently bent the wire and it’s 100% again.
