    Quoted from PINQUEST:

Alright folks! I know there are some rumors that Jaws will be Eddy’s next machine.... my question is, on a scale of 1-10(1 being no chance, 10 being its happening) how confident the community is that this is actually what he is working on?
    Thoughts?

Lots of hints thrown around. Anyone see if the license was snatched up?

    #24 5 years ago

Brian Eddy is working on his next masterpiece, so I hear? Jaws by Eddy...yep.

It was 14% truth, 86% speculation at this time based off of what was read on FB. I no longer know any insiders in Stern, so there is that. But I have been a bug on Stern’s windshield for years on this title. Maybe this is them hitting the wipers on me or actual interest.

    Quoted from Shapeshifter:

    Hmmm....
    It's a - [quoted image]

That album cover sums it up. Bunch of buyers waiting for ‘THE’ title to be released.

    Lmao.

    Quoted from Plungemaster:

I am pretty sure Jaws will be made one day. But theme alone does not excite me anymore. When you do Jaws you need the dumdumdum music, plus all other songs, Spanish lady etc. you need all characters on board. You need awesome boat- and Jaws toys, Shark fin and waterskie droptargets, Big yellow barns pop ups who can submerge, all fitted in a fun lay out Amity style.
I am afraid we will never get the Jaws we would love. This game will be dissapointing like all other fantastic pinballthemes last few years, by lazyness, cheapness and or license restrictions.

Don’t lose faith Brother. I always wanted a Zombie themed pin, pushed Gary ( and my friend at the time working there) it would be a great idea. Look how TWD turned out!

    #55 5 years ago

Focus on artwork, light green cab with Orca on sides. Quint and Hooper on head sides, Brody on coin door. Translite is all three fighting shark. Maybe zombie yeti art?

Pf art would be mix of amity and ocean. Blues and browns, some reds for color. Sounds and dots would be original scores with action scenes and some family/ amity/ mayor humor.

Toys are just that, toys. Springs? Hanging sharks? Biting shark? Yeah, ok. But pf design will always be king.

    Lmao. That’s great!

    Quoted from Our_Man_in_Oz:

I'd so stoked to see Jaws, especially from the likes B. Eddy Only a bit earlier in the year in thread on machines you'd like to see I listed this as top of my list

This demographic grew up on Jaws. When cable tv first came in our home, circa 1978, the Starz Channel played it in an endless loop for months. I must’ve watched it 150 times!

Stern bump for Ben Heck. As he requested.

Inserts look badass! If they could be made to never lift around after years in place it could work. Art looks like a shark with flames coming out his butt.

That’s fine though. It’ll sand off.

Just ordered my 36” Bruce from SharkcityOzark.com

    Museum quality replicas. Amazing work.

Will go great with my 36” Orca boat.

    Wife thinks I’m insane.

Stern is wrapped up tight. No leaks.

    #133 5 years ago
    Quoted from PINQUEST:

More smoke for Jaws than anything else lately...Right?!

    True enough. Waiting game now.

    #139 5 years ago
    Quoted from J85M:

Replace the baby with a pinball and there’s the main mech for the game!
Magnet on the orca, orca tips back Jaws rises out the playfield ball is swollowed!
Do this Stern and I’ll buy it Day One!!
    [quoted image]

    Horrible parents...

Detail on that Orca is too plain.

    #148 5 years ago
    Quoted from KozMckPinball:

Sounds right on Jaws. Someone posted when Stern received the Jaws license and Eddy's game was way into the design phase already by then. So it looks like Eddy's first pin for Stern is not Jaws.

My daughters first semester college tuition is paid off. That kidney idea is sounding doable if Jaws gets announced.

    #170 5 years ago
    Quoted from Ericpinballfan:

    Note to Gary Stern-
Dear sir, please dont make this pinball unless you pay for some music rights. The machine without the right music would be an epic fail.
Also, please pay Richard Dreyfuss for the call outs.
    Thank you.

    That’s why we have Cleland!

Getting my home ready for the next LE.

1/6 scale Orca handbuilt from wood and a Paul Shipper original poster from the UK. Getting excited.

At first I thought Eddie was designing Bill and Teds. But seeing the Martin pic at Stern I gathered Martin Brody.

Hoping it’s right. Brian’s first comeback design since leaving Williams? Epic potential.

    #183 5 years ago
    Quoted from GCS2000:

I'm odd I love Widebodies, lol.
Already been a pricey year for me MBRLE, POTC LE, Houdini and trying to make a deal on a NGG. Oh and 18k reno on 2 bathrooms due to a leak we never knew about, oh well.
Jaws hitting this year just might be the straw that breaks me. Just wish it was JJP and not Stern making Jaws although if JJP did make it I know I would have to get the ultimate CE or whatever they would call it for lord knows how much. As is the Stern LE is gonna eat me alive - pun intended.

True enough. I just got 2 more Williams widebodies for my collection. Out of room. Daughter in college, out of money. Will have to find a way to get an Orca LE.

    #189 5 years ago
    Quoted from iceman44:

Hate to say it but I don't believe Jaws is coming this year.

Maybe, maybe not. Speculation can be fun though.

    #198 5 years ago

Well, 12k BM66 was a dark night 2008 layout. So that worked for Stern.

    Sea Witch layout for Beatles.

Original Jaws was magic despite the shark. All others with a nod to Jaws 2 were highly inferior and borderline campy.

Just like Lake Placid. First was timeless movie gold.

    Quoted from Hazoff:

    What a foolish comment.

Not really foolish. Let’s call it...cautiously realistic.

Price increases, which aren’t being reinvested into higher end materials and engineering.

Speed of darkness on coding and issue fixes.

    With that being said...

Pins are fun as hell and lots of great shots.

In a huo collection how much serious wear and tear? Minimal.

    #223 5 years ago
    Quoted from Wakky:

Unfounded rumour which is not true . There is no plan in the future to release this as this whole topic is just an unfounded rumour.

He was razzing on Pinfidel’s comment above.

    #225 5 years ago
    Quoted from Hazoff:

I don't mind waiting a year for a Stern to mature as I did with Maiden and TWD and thusly very happy. Ok it might come out with shallow code or some needed fixes but thats pinball right now so maybe foolish was too strong, how about moronic and stupid? Yeah I think thats better.

    Much better....

    #229 5 years ago
    Quoted from benheck:

The Kraken ship Stern of the mid 00's is gone.
You're all dreaming of a game that will never match your expectations.

    Expectations aren’t usually met anyways.

That’s fine. They were too realistically high. Bring on the cardboard pf’s and plastic cab legs!

    #234 5 years ago
    Quoted from PinballManiac40:

But that was before he started working at Stern. This is a different ball game now.

Stern tried cheaping out Steve Ritchie too...eventually SR got his way and made great titles for Stern. I’m sure Eddy will follow a similar path. He’s no Dwight...

    I keed, I keed.

    #241 5 years ago
    Quoted from PinMonk:

Well, it's not like they didn't have examples to copy stretching back to Fireball where it worked. There's a predictable safety in never stepping outside the box and just rehashing what's come before.

    What's that theory called again...hmmm.

Oh yeah, business. Safe until the masses stop buying...then and only THEN pull out the risk.

    Quoted from drfrightner:

Universal Studios is remaking Jaws. Universal is hoping to start a new franchise of films like JP.
So I have no doubt this will end up a pinball. I would love to have Jaws pinball.
Any Jaws pinball will never have clips from the movie because Speilberg would never approve them. Either way Jaws themed pinball would be fun.

Universal is NOT remaking Jaws. Steven said no way. It’s DOA. Besides, the original is epic. I would think Hollywood has had their fill of refake losses.
