Jaws is the only game that would even make me consider buying NIB.

All I know is if the shark doesn't somehow eat the ball, then someone fucked up bad.

My dream for the game, besides the shark eating the ball (which I feel like is mandatory), is that they have an Orca ship upper playfield that will "sink" by lowering the front of the upper playfield down and turning the upper playfield into a giant ramp. Think Phantom of the Opera. Maybe put the ball eating shark bash toy under the boat.

My other major idea for the game is there need to be two story ladder progressions, one where you are the Humans and one where you are the Shark. I think the idea of rooting for the Shark is a ton of fun.

On a LE have a lower playfield where you are the shark going after people's legs which are drop targets.

All of this is way too expensive for Stern to do of course. Oh well...

Kind of like the original Jaws 3, People 0 idea for Jaws 3 that they didn't go with? Would have been a much better movie than Jaws 3D.

Yeah the script for the original Jaws 3 is great. That said, Jaws 3 is a guilty pleasure for how bad it is. Jaws 2 is derivative. Jaws 3 is laughably bad. Jaws the Revenge is just bad bad (although I do love Michael Caine's character is named after a sandwich)

    Quoted from benheck:

OK here's the thing with a shark. It needs to swim and emerge from water.
So really you can't just have a shark mouth just sitting there and you shove balls into it. You need a spot for the ball to land, the music plays, and shark emerges eats ball and disappears.
Look at Dino on JP. It's standing there, it bends over opens mouth and eats ball - just like eating the lawyer off the toilet. Fits the action of the movie.
I don't see modern Stern putting enough time into a proper mech to do this. Maybe they reuse the sinking POTC mech but why would the player want to sink the Orca... Unless player IS THE SHARK? Which is possible a PS2 Jaws game had this premise.

That's Jaws Unleashed and that game was a great mediocre game. Honestly, I think being the shark is a much better idea than being the "good guys" (and yo, it's a shark...it's not a bad guy; it's an animal). Are there any pinball games where you are ostensibly the bad guy?

Sinking the Orca is such a key part of that film. Even if you're the good guys, the boat needs to sink at some point.

But you have a great point about the shark head popping up. I think it's more realistic that it'll just be a Groot-like bash toy, but it's fun to think of how Bruce could eat the ball. Maybe something like the gator on Nip It? Have it hidden to the side and it just snatches in the ball to lock a ball for multiball? I thought the way Zen Pinball used the shark cage for multiball was inspired as well. That and their use of the fin

    Quoted from JoelOmatik:

Just thought I’d share. Decades ago, I wanted to design my own shark themed, non-licensed pin, White Death (a nickname for the great white). The furthest I got was this ugly-as-sin playfield blank prototype I hand-routed back in early 2000. Forgive the magic marker “artwork.” I also made a foam core/poster board mock-up to gauge the ramps and shots. Unfortunately, due to my horrible programming skills and inability to find extra help, this is the furthest I got. I attempted another PF with different shots, but much is still the same as you see here.
Just in case a Jaws pin does get made and some inserts are laid out like mine, I have the time stamp to show I made the first attempt. Hopefully, one day I’ll get some extra help to get a working homebrew made.

I'm having nightmares of all those inserts lifting, but the teeth are certainly clever.

Dun Dun Dun Dun...You're gonna need a bigger cabinet.
