Ballsy indeed. They can always retheme it to something else, like Bill & Ted’s Pinball Adventure
"Sharkanado" might actually be a better pinball theme if you think about it, at least humour could be an element too. Maybe Spooky should bang out 250 Sharkanado games to take on Stern's JAWs game "shark-to-shark"! While we're at it, American Pinball could do "Megalodon" too.
That would be pretty awesome, right? Three cool super-fun shark games.

Just thought I’d share. Decades ago, I wanted to design my own shark themed, non-licensed pin, White Death (a nickname for the great white). The furthest I got was this ugly-as-sin playfield blank prototype I hand-routed back in early 2000. Forgive the magic marker “artwork.” I also made a foam core/poster board mock-up to gauge the ramps and shots. Unfortunately, due to my horrible programming skills and inability to find extra help, this is the furthest I got. I attempted another PF blank with modified shots and less cluttered inserts, but much is similar to what you see here.
Just in case a Jaws pin does get made and some inserts are laid out like mine, I have the time stamp to show I made the first attempt. Hopefully, one day I’ll get some extra help to get a working homebrew made.

I'm having nightmares of all those inserts lifting, but the teeth are certainly clever.

...somewhere deep inside the Stern R&D labs Keith Elwin is swearing "That's what I was going to do!"
Quoted from TreyBo69:I'm having nightmares of all those inserts lifting, but the teeth are certainly clever.
It’s a prototype, after all! The insert count will be minimized in the next update.

The inserts in the place of the sharks teeth is a great idea keep those!

Those are absolutely staying!
Currently what is the best “water” based game that’s been produced?
Whitewater comes to mind straight off the top of my head as maybe being the best. Although Baywatch is pretty packed and way underrated.
There’s Waterworld which gets a hard time but I’ve noticed more and more people saying it’s actually pretty good if you get past the theme and terrible art but I’ve never played it so can’t comment.
What do others think the best water based game is??
Like Predator was?
Quoted from PINQUEST:It's possible the game was being developed without the license officially having been acquired yet. Ballsy, but possible.
Quoted from underlord:Inserts look badass! If they could be made to never lift around after years in place it could work. Art looks like a shark with flames coming out his butt.
That’s fine though. It’ll sand off.

Funny and so true

Didn’t intend it to look that way, but ok! LOL

I’m debating whether or not to do a separate homebrew thread on my idea, even though it’s only in its infancy stages. I don’t want to distract any more from the Jaws talk than I already have...
Just ordered my 36” Bruce from SharkcityOzark.com
Museum quality replicas. Amazing work.
Will go great with my 36” Orca boat.
Wife thinks I’m insane.

Nice, we have a few of their models in both light and heavy gore.
Quoted from PINQUEST:More smoke for Jaws than anything else lately...Right?!
True enough. Waiting game now.
just glad the Munsters announcement is finally happening so we can get on with the next juicy round of rumors!
Quoted from bgwilly31:Best thing i read in this thread is the license was just acquired that means something else is coming.
BEETLEJUICE! I mean cmonnn! The soundtrack of that movie is perfect for pinball![quoted image]
Would be a perfect Spooky game!
Quoted from J85M:Replace the baby with a pinball and there’s the main mech for the game!
Magnet on the orca, orca tips back Jaws rises out the playfield ball is swollowed!
Do this Stern and I’ll buy it Day One!!
[quoted image]
Horrible parents...
Detail on that Orca is too plain.

Argosy
Quoted from KozMckPinball:Any chance at this point that Brian Eddy the designer for Jaws?
He’s been rumored to be designing a James Bond themed pin, its still a possibility that he or another designer could still have Jaws- all rumors
Quoted from underlord:Horrible parents...

The story behind its creation was pretty awesome. Some sculptor works at a place that creates custom fantasy-themed beds for kids, but after creating ANOTHER airplane bed for a kid in California, he began wondering what a nightmare-themed kids bed would look like, so he made this and some others. I'd like to see all the other ones he made!
Quoted from PinMonk:JAWS-themed baby bed to go with the pin...[quoted image]
In four months .... he’s going to need a bigger boat.
Quoted from jeffspinballpalace:In four months .... he’s going to need a bigger boat.
They make them into like 10 year-old sizes now.
Quoted from Fytr:Would be a perfect Spooky game!
I'd much rather have Stern build it.

I love rumors!

Sounds right on Jaws. Someone posted when Stern received the Jaws license and Eddy's game was way into the design phase already by then. So it looks like Eddy's first pin for Stern is not Jaws.

Yeah the rumour about Stern getting the Jaws licence was pretty new and made it sound like Stern very recently got the JAWs licence.
Honestly I wouldn’t mind the wait if the reality was Brian Eddy game #1 was Bond and Brian Eddy game #2 was JAWS gives me time to save up for both!
Would love Brian to design 2 of my dream themes, love all of his games.
