Hoping and waiting for Centaur!!

#1619 2 years ago
Quoted from punkin:

I sold my Bally Centaur and kept my Fathom. Just saying.

Saying what? What do you like better about Fathom, the art work? It's a beauty for sure, but Centaur sounds awesome and the art work is beautiful ugly!
I don't know what it is? Steampunk maybe?

Quoted from punkin:

Lenticular is my new fav since i got my Tron.

I've been saying this for ever! I can't believe we don't see more of these! Avatar is an amazing lenticular!!

Quoted from swampfire:

I see 2 different kinds of mindsets. There are those who are always creating something of real value, either through restorations or mods or brand new games. Or yes, opening an arcade AirBnB. That’s creating real value. Then there are those who try to capture all that value by squeezing every dime they can out of the hobby.

Totally agree with this!!

Quoted from Flowst:

Will Planetary Pinball Supply be carrying the standard version? If so, can one pre order it?
Any realistic production updates beyond the Celts being finished and supply chain issues?

Bump..

Seriously thinking a Standard edition is in my future!

Quoted from Pinchild:

Falling for 1970s and 1980s machines over the last year.
I almost never touch my newer machines?
Anyone else experience this oddness?

Yes, this includes some 90's pins as well, like my BSDrac. It's why I'm thinking Fathom Standard. I wish I had come to this realization sooner. I'd be on the list for a mermaid now!

So is Haggis using the Multimorphic P3-ROC board system for Fathom? If not, then what??
Thanks!

Quoted from swinks:

FAST Board set

Yes, I found their web site and read up on it. Great stuff!
So, I'm assuming this is a non proprietary system like P3-ROC - unlike Stern Spike? And therefore, we would not be at Haggis's mercy for replacement boards in the future? Or am I wrong? I don't pretend to understand this stuff!

#4101 1 year ago
Quoted from TreyBo69:

The boards aren’t open source, though the software library to use them is.

Well this is a big deal then if I understand correctly.
I have heard that certain Stern node boards have boot strapper code on chips that can not be legally programmed by a 3rd party as their software is not open source. So I'm assuming this is not an issue with FAST or P3-ROC?

Quoted from rai:

Great times in the hobby except for the cost.
Italian bros

You mean Pinball Brothers?

Quoted from John_I:

We have a hundred great pictures of the cabinet and bottom of the playfield, but still none of the playfield itself up close with the playfield glass removed?
First mod for my game will be something similar to the foam light blocks that come with pinitech displays. It makes the displays look much better by blocking the backbox lights from the display area. I had these on my Meteor and Paragon:
[quoted image]

Yes, those come with the Wolffpack Tech kits as well.
