Don't mean to sound insensitive but.... A go fund me page for someone who can afford very expensive luxury toys is kind of off-putting. How about helping out those who lost what very little they had?

The guy this happened to had some real class and posted to the page organising the go fund me to say he didn’t need it. He had insurance and was financially ok. He asked that people instead donated money to Ukrainian refugees or other people in the area that were struggling.
That’s why the page doesn’t work anymore.

Nice, good for him and that does show class.:} Sending him a "High Five" and hope he gets his games and life stuff back togther soon.

Good point. Guess we need to share the love.
Fortunately our government has stepped in with assistance for people but of course it will never be enough.

How does flood insurance over in Aus. work? Private or thru the government? State side, FEMA is pretty much the only option and runs the NFIP (National Flood Ins. Program), but it appears some private companies are finally starting to jump in the ring.

It's private unfortunately. Flood insurance is quite expensive in Aus, especially for businesses.

Yes it is expensive. We have had a number of natural disasters in recent years & insurance companies have taken a hammering. We had similar large floods the same time last year, as well we have had bushfires, many hailstorms etc etc so of course this has all affected premiums & coverage.

Skeletons want to know where’s their update? Any pics of a production game? Any pics of an apron with lcd working? Any pics of boxes of parts? Any pics of a production line? Anything positive to report?

And that is exactly right if you post it on the net you have to expect it's going to get shared. Particularly, if it's interesting, shocking, controversial, thought provoking or just plain pornographic.

Wow yet another dangerous/poisonous/potentially lethal animal in Australia. The more I learn about this country the more it seems like a place you’d send a bunch of prisoners.

The world has sharp edges mate. No wonder you guys don't get out of your car. You're scared someone will shoot you if you walk into the bank to deposit a cheque.

Fucking guy lives in Detroit and calls this dangerous. At least we only have to worry about animals killing us.

The city of Detroit, in the U.S. state of Michigan, has gone through a major economic and demographic decline in recent decades. The population of the city has fallen from a high of 1,850,000 in 1950 to 680,000 in 2015, removing it from the top 20 of US cities by population for the first time since 1850.[1] Local crime rates are among the highest in the United States (despite this, the overall crime rate in the city has seen a decline during the 21st century[2]), and vast areas of the city are in a state of severe urban decay. In 2013, Detroit filed the largest municipal bankruptcy case in U.S. history, which it successfully exited on December 10, 2014. Poverty, crime, shootings, drugs and urban blight in Detroit are ongoing problems.

As of 2017 median household income is rising,[3] criminal activity is decreasing by 5% annually as of 2017,[4] and the city's blight removal project is making progress in ridding the city of all abandoned homes that cannot be rehabilitated.

Poverty
The U.S.A. Census Bureau's Statistical Abstract of the United States: 2012 ranks Detroit first among all 71 U.S. cities for which rates were calculated in percentage of the city's population living below the poverty level. The individual rate living below the poverty level is 36.4%; the family rate is 31.3%.[87]

Australia, once known as New South Wales, was originally planned as a penal colony. In October 1786, the British government appointed Arthur Phillip captain of the HMS Sirius, and commissioned him to establish an agricultural work camp there for British convicts. With little idea of what he could expect from the mysterious and distant land, Phillip had great difficulty assembling the fleet that was to make the journey. His requests for more experienced farmers to assist the penal colony were repeatedly denied, and he was both poorly funded and outfitted. Nonetheless, accompanied by a small contingent of Marines and other officers, Phillip led his 1,000-strong party, of whom more than 700 were convicts, around Africa to the eastern side of Australia. In all, the voyage lasted eight months, claiming the deaths of some 30 men.

And the point of that little history lesson besides a bit of demeaning national stereotyping? Bet that's against pinside rules. Maybe only if it's directed at a person from the United States of North America though.

What are you referring to that is affecting you from 250 years ago and half a world away?

Probably should be up on your own history before you start quoting ours. I heard about this level of ignorance, and the Norman Gunston Show got a few laufghs, as did Borat. I didn't think it was so widespread within the so called educated class though.

North America
The British Empire used North America as a penal colony through a system of indentured service; North America’s province of Georgia was originally established for such purposes. British convicts would be transported by private sector merchants and auctioned off to plantation owners upon arrival in the colonies. During its course of settlement it is estimated that more than 50,000 British convicts were banished to colonial America, a population representing one-quarter of all British emigrants during the eighteenth century.

Do not want to shit on the parade. But after Andrew Heighway & his updates with no employees in the photos. Moving to multiple locations, delays, & going under. You would think new companies might hire a PR person or provide frequent updates to promote sales. Pinball is hard! But you should keep people informed of problems or how production is moving forward. Rick got a sample, is it being used for promotion, & testing?

Yeeesh. Thought I was taking the piss with a guy that understood that type of humor. Thought it was a pastime there? Didn’t mean to degrade your great great great great great daddy’s name and lump him in with those other scoundrels. I’m fully aware of the irony of calling anything anywhere dangerous from Detroit.

Hey mate, no issue with you. But fyi, you come across as a wee bit sensitive yourself. Probably best to move on from pitting countries histories against each other.

No good can come from it. We all have dark and not-so-great parts of our cultures and histories.

And what any of this has do with Haggis or Fathom? I do not know.

Yes, observant you are.

I am sensitive to getting poked, and will poke back harder.

I did not start anything about pitting countries past against each other, maybe have a read without your tinted glasses.

I'm not only happy to move on, i wish the person had never started this disparaging crap.

Fuck all of this thread has to do with Haggis or Fathom as we are waiting eagerly to get more news and shipping notifications, so nothing to talk about except squirrels.

Anyways… everyone convinced Centaur is the next Haggis barring financial collapse?
Makes the most sense.

So let's try to get back to the meat of this thread.....no more National Geographic animal talk, entertaining as it was. No more white-knighting of Haggis by some thong-wearing, leaping gnome-type character. When the hell are they going to communicate with the masses regarding their status? Why all the secrecy? Seriously-isn't ANYONE here just a bit suspicious?

Well they’re either nose to the grindstone making the machines or embarrassed by the lack of results and blown projections. Either way they don’t feel like giving updates just yet. Worst case scenario a bunch of people lose $1k or so and the company folds. Best case is everyone gets a machine that’s better than anticipated and well worth the wait. Best BEST case scenario is that every machine comes preloaded with a pet drop bear in the coin box and everyone’s happy.

It would be great if this topic would stay on just fathom and if there isn’t anything new - then we will just have to wait.

I find the Australian discussions interesting but i which those topics were in their own thread so that I can read them separately.

Agreed. That would be nice and also a novel approach to some of those that post in this thread. It's ok apparently to divert the conversation when it suits, just don't you do it, lol.

Roll on positive news about Fathom production.

That version of australia history is a totally out there fairytale, and most aussies have heads burried so deep in the sand they don't even know it themselves; believe it like gospel. Taught at school, must be right hey? lol. Australias "history" is the most nonsense full of holes joke of all the worlds fabricated histories.

The prisoners whom Were on the boats were brought to 'New Holland' not for stealing bread and petty crap like that but for attempting overthrow of corrupt govt. Put them with the white rebels (survivors) who were already here pre 1770s. After scratching the surface it starts to get even more interesting.

Way more lies in the world than anyone could have ever imagined. It's all about at the point of coming out now.

Australia may have the dumbest full of holes false history. But europe certainly has about the most harrowing false history setup. :3

Don't worry about the drop bear fairytale. Start collecting kangaroo feathers instead.

WHERE IS A WORKING HAGGIS FATHOM!!!!!!!!!! Doing my 2021 Tax’s and need to know if my Fathom deposit needs to be entered as Charity or an Entertainment Expense?

#2549 2 years ago

Below is an email I received couple days ago from a Haggis rep responding to my request for the Haggis Christmas package since I ordered through GAP and never received one. I originally requested in Jan. Rep responded few days later saying they would send me one. Waited a month or so and sent a follow up email and below was the response. Not earth shattering info but thought I would share.

Hi Jason

Sorry – the laser has been going flat out with Fathom production so the team have not let me get some time on the machine to make up some more cards yet !.

Don’t worry though, I’ve made a note of you needing a pack – I’ve definitely not forgotten you need one .

Cheers,
Georgia

Any more pictures of what seems to be the only prototype Fathom. Or is there the one & only. Rick at PPS got one to approve. Just silence here from Haggis Pinball. You would think they could show rows of cabinets, assembled playfields, parts, production, test stations, & employees actually doing pinball manufacturing.
