I’m secretly hoping it is another original theme. Licences suck and are dated.

#53 7 months ago

After seeing the 2nd video teaser it’s likely got to be:

“Queen of Atlantis
“Poseidon’s Palace”
“Australian Abyss”
“Great Barrier Reef“

“Lasseter’s Reef: the Holy Grail of lost gold mines” would make for a good Australian pinball game.

...agree 100%. Astonished that the vast majority of those in this hobby seemingly disagree. Let’s see where the demand for STh is in 10 years. Will probably be comparable to 24, X-Files, or JM.

Problem is those games you’ve mentioned apart from JM are terrible games. Theme means nothing to me. If it’s a good game it’s a good game regardless of theme.

Quoted from CrazyLevi:

It's not possible for Haggis to get any license. They've sold 18 pinball machines.

.

How many games had jjp sold when they got WOZ .
They say The Beatles was a million-dollar licence , let's just say Jaws is half of that , so if they put $1,000 on each game and limited it to 500 games , they would sell them easily and cost would be covered .

#58 7 months ago
Quoted from Cheeks:Judging by posts in their facebook / the Haggis thread, this is looking more like a FishTales knock off than Jaws.

But do they have the capacity to make 500 games? Jersey Jack had been in the pinball/coin op business for over 30 years when he started JJP with WOZ, so he was well established. I think it will take Haggis some time and a few successful runs of games for them to be able to take on a big license.

Jersy Jack might have been in the business for 30 years before he made woz but how many games had he made ?
Haggis making 500 games might be a stretch but you have to start somewhere .
Their factory is literally 5 minutes up the road from me and I do have a range of crow bars , I could go up there and settle this

I’ve been on record as saying theme doesn’t matter nearly as much as gameplay. But, you can’t tease with direct quotes from Jaws and deliver something else. Just no.

#65 7 months ago
Quoted from Jakusu:

Ironically my current project after Mad Max is my retheme of Fish Tales into Jaws! About half done now, can't wait to get it flipping. Been working on it for 12 months, hope to have it done by spring.
I was thinking Lochness as a spinoff of Celts ...but now thinking a Fathom spinoff. I know one of the guys in the Haggis shed is a mad Fathom nut.
Looking forward to see it what ever it is!

Sopranos would be better...turn the yacht into the orca, yellow barrel pop bumpers, shark cage where the safe is...dock near stripper pole (ok that doesnt work)

The attack of the Muldjewangk's. Never say I didn't call it. :}

Maybe something like a water skier going around in circles. Try to hit the ramp at the right time to eat them.

I had to look up what a Muldjewangk is.
It seems there are different depictions, but this one looks like a giant monster made out of bacon.

Stranger Things is far from terrible. Apparently you haven’t played it since all the code updates.

Sorry yea STh is a good game. Was more talking about 24 and the other one which are veeeeery ordinary

I get a Bioshock vibe from that trailer but that awesome theme will probably never get made into a pin. Not holding my breath...

Settle down people.
As an aside, isn't it funny the staying power that advertising for bad sequels to memorable movies have had over the decades?
Both "just when you though it was safe" (Jaws 2) and "They're Back" (Poultergeist 2) have survived in the pop culture consciousness for 40 years, while the terrible movies are forgotten.

Imagine for a minute they did get a licence. But I guess you know everything.

Think some peeps in here have been spending too much time looking at the "Next Stern title?" thread Enough hot air expended in speculation to float a 1000 Led Zeppelins

Would love a Fathom type game, surfing type game

Was chatting with some friends today about what could happen. I think if they redid some classic Stern titles and gave them the Beatles treatment, but non-licensed, they would have a great bit of potential. Mimic the layout, modernize the rules a little, add a multiball or two. Stern couldn’t seek enough to make it worth it, but Haggis certainly could. Would be a great little niche.

#97 7 months ago

Don’t get how this video confirms a Jaws pin. Maybe a water-based villain such as .... Moby Dick. That’s right, the biggest dick ever is on a sperm whale, Capt Ahab and no licensing fees. I’d like a MD pinball, please.

Would love a Fathom...

anyone know the boardset used in Celts?
