I don't know what's been cleared up for you.
I never claimed i don't use money. I have a shop.
I said that a person's wealth is not a measure of their success in the world.
But you fix on whatever words you want. Your views are not of value to me either.
In other news, i got my invoice today.

If I recall correctly, you asked for the very last machine. The news of your invoice bears a little more weight if that’s the case.

That's correct, i asked to be last. For no other reason except to put my money where my mouth was at the time.

I don't know whether i am indeed last, but the email said 8 weeks until mine will be shipped. I'll see the boys tommorow at pinfest and will ask for a verbal update for you all as to whether this is the case.

And mention my special request one more time.

you get a pretty poster too!

Way back when I first ordered, I asked for last too! Damian told me #250 was gone but he could give me #249. I sent my balance about a month ago. I wanted to be last because that would give me more time to get the money together (plus of course, bugs being worked out and all that...). Good news is that I was given lots of time...

#6556 87 days ago

I guess that means my invoice will be coming soon if the Mermaids are all invoiced. I highly doubt there are more than 20 Classics, so it shouldn't be very long. Would be nice if the lead time really is down to just 8 weeks, but not holding my breath. Including the time to come over on a ship in a container, I'll be happy with spring 2024.

They aren't built by machine number, but by invoice number. I asked to be put to the back of the queue because i wanted all my brothers and sister's who were worried to get their games before mine, as i wasn't worried.

In any case, they are getting to the bottom of them.

After a great weekend at Pinfest I visited Melbourne for a few days. Yesterday I was lucky enough to pay a visit to Haggis & had a good look around the factory. I really like what I saw. Despite space being a premium the factory is well organized with good systems in place to keep parts & materials supplies flowing through without interruption & good stocks of these items. Despite the lack of space the factory was clean & tidy as best as it may be with this type of production. They appear to have all the good quality machinery they need for production & the staff I observed working seemed happy & content at the job they were doing. There is a considerable amount of Fathoms in production either completed or almost completed. A dozen or so machines destined for overseas, boxed & ready to go. There is no doubt in my mind that they are well on track to complete all the Fathoms by the end of the year as Damian has stated.

To be honest I didn't see one so I assume they don't have one. As I said.... space is a premium there.

I also called into Pinball Sales Showroom which is just 500 mtrs away from Haggis's factory & had a look at Paul's lineup of JJP's including his prototype Hobbit & Pirates of the Caribbean. The previous evening we were lucky enough to visit Paul's home where i got to look at the machines he has restored in his collection. Quite simply his machines are breathtaking. He had just completed a Theatre of Magic restore where every cabinet bolt, leg bracket, ramp etc had been gold plated. The cabinet had been re-sprayed, re-decaled, playfield clear coated, all new parts & even new connector housings, light sockets etc. His Creature is also truly breathtaking & left a lasting impression on me. As did the rest of his high end Williams/Bally machines. His attention to detail is incredible. If any of them come up for sale at anytime I'm on it. I thought I was pretty good on the resto but he leaves me for dead.

Quoted from punkin:

Money is a fictional, meaningless creation.
How can it be definable as a measure of success? It's an imaginary number.
If a pirate or a cartel member makes millions of dollars practising slavery then they are a success?

Money itself is not a meaningless creation. It is a social construct. A language if you will. Same as English. But fiat money has skewed our concept of what money actually is because its ability to cheat its user. How can you have fair, equitable standards in which to conduct yourself if the rules of your money are ever changing outside of your control? You think you have it figured out and then the rules of the game are altered. It only inches you closer to chaos.

Imagine playing chess and every time you did the rules of the Pawn were changed. Who would play?

Its exactly what we do with "money"...

With fiat money, everyone is just in search of the best, hardest form in which to preserve their time.

But yeah...I get you on the rest of the statement. The corrupt politician, pirate, or child trafficker is not the measurement of success simply because they have "money". I just don't believe in your take that money is meaningless...Fiat money counterfeit at will, at the expense of the saver, is certainly meaningless in the long, but the concept of money itself for humans is not meaningless.

Damian says they are hoping to have another container ready to go to the US in January. That's the plan, anyway.

Have they already shipped a container? I must have missed that. Hopefully mine makes it into that January container.

Oh, I was under the impression that they already shipped one. Nobody in the US with a Fathom got their game via sea freight?

#6568 52 days ago

I haven't heard of a container having been shipped. I thought everyone has been opting for air freight.

#6569 52 days ago

A week ago, I was asked if I would like my game put in a container. Before it was put in the container, the code was updated as my game had been fabricated some months ago. All good news. Eagerly awaiting pick up in Sparks Nevada.

Same

#6571 47 days ago

I did get notice that my game made it into a container! It is bound to arrive in early December.

#6572 47 days ago
Quoted from Jarson:

A few posts above Damien says there is a January container? Considering they haven't sent a single container yet, I doubt there will be two in two months. Apparently they take a month to ship, so maybe there is a container set to depart in December and arrive in the states in January?

#6573 47 days ago

Yeah, post here if you have solid info on any containers actually shipping out. We are hearing different months.

#6574 46 days ago

Haggis asked me if I would like them to arrange shipment from Nevada to my door, through Crossroads Global Solutions. They gave me a quote of $595 for shipping, and the date still says early December for game pickup. Probably about a solid as it gets until it arrives at my door!

#6575 46 days ago

so it took years to get one container, now they are saying two will be shipping within 2 months? Better build that confidence so people send them more money lmao.

#6576 46 days ago
Quoted from Cobray:

How the fuck did you read that into the second hand reports of what Haggis said.

People will say anything to damage someone here, it's incredible.

I said I wanted to be left til After all of the Export games had been made. Last was fine too. Same sorts of reasons. But also know what it's like buying Spooky games when you're in Australia. I have an invoice, but trying to sell other games to pay that, bad economic conditions. Dire really.

#6578 45 days ago
Quoted from Grantman:

There is no excuse for poor communication. If there is nothing shady going on then why not just talk to your customers and explain what's going on? This whole "pay us in full and we'll deliver your order at some unknown point in the future" would be unacceptable in any other business so why is it acceptable here?

Convid.

Pretty simple. But everyone still pretending in wonderland, so I guess they can't Really say the Actual reason for half of Australias businesses dematerialising, and being replaced with technocorp or other 'services'. Or why they're (most probably) extremely cash strapped like every other business after all the bulls#it and destruction that's occuuring.

My invoice is outstanding, sad to say. I have to sell a game for the funds (which was always the plan). I have Never been unable to sell a game before, but when your Tweaked OG Heighway Alien won't sell for what's basically us$8K and sits there for sale for months, thousands of people viewed the ads, and have to take the ad down with barely even an enquiry a month later. . . there is a cash/economy problem houston!

There is a massive white elephant plague going on. Ironic how the people do not see it . . . the elephant in the room is White, and it's Big!! lol

I support Haggis, and I know they're for real.. With emails, half the worlds people are being given the runaround by the 'Internet Messaging' systems, whatever they have done, updates changes and whatever. My sattelite 'NBN' hardly cuts the mustard for the usability now, and then there's the fake spam, and spam that gets to the inbox. It's become Absurd.

Anyway Angela did call me on the phone about my Mermaid only a couple of days ago. This came to pass because of the Email problems (which are/were mostly at my end with Losing mail from an email account which I ordered the game with), and because the Outstanding invoice (where the reply was just going to be Paying It; tomorrow when I sell the game, right). I've been trying to sell a couple of games to pay, for months it has been waiting to be paid.

I let her know in our call that I'm working on it, and apologised for the situation. But I am sure we were both well aware of the economic situation, the shhhhh topics as well.

What any would-be keyboard bashers need to realise it that Fathom Mermaid by the end will probably have cost them as much to Make and ship, as what they recieved from buyers, without profit, and that's optimistic I reckon, the way prices rose & are still rising. For EVERYTHING. The Longer It Takes Them to finish the More THEY Lose out by inflation in costs of materials and sevices. They would be Cash Poor, and trying to Stay above waterline right now, and yes I feel bad that I haven't covered the invoice. I will get it to them soon. But it is what it is okay, the convid depression and bganksters wars. Goin' down!. Strap yourselves in powder puffs, it's going to get bumpy, for most people it will be bumpy by surprise.

My hopes is, and I believe, that Haggis will make it through. Scottish ancestry

Cheers mate, i thought there were seven in the world, But Geoff Frazer told me they only did 6.

It's the most beautiful pinball machine i've ever seen, but when they rethemed Eight Ball they made them beautiful on the outside only.
It had a ghetto ply and carpet box with a car stereo and speakers in the cab. It's now got a high end sound system and is detailed inside and out.
Eight Ball 2 rule set, new boards etc.

Can't fucking wait to see it, it's been just over a year.

Only started it last week.

There is only six in the world, and the people who own 4 of the six besides me are aware of the thread, including the guy in the states with one. It would be a tiny list of five people even if all the owners were represented.

I expect Scott will chime in at some stage at least.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll have a look at the events and the dates and see if i can get a crew together on short notice. Usually the off weekend has the events that interest me, but it's only up the street to Tweed from here.

You'll know if the Woopi Freeballers are there....

Sorry, this is a bit off topic, but this young man from Australia, mid 20's has become a legend in the off-road race circles, specifically the Baja off road race crowd.

Long story short, he flew from Australia to San Diego. California bought a dirt bike rode it off road all the way to the start of the Baja 1000 in Mexico. Had to buy a new tire for the race and just finished 6 days later. This man is a legend because this is virtually unheard of no support crew, no spare parts, no nothing, just flew in bought a bike and ran the Baja 1000 which is an unforgiving race in the desert, 1000 miles gnarly shit and he just handled it. It sounds like he would have finished first in his class, but he missed a checkpoint and had to go back and finish ninth and twenty ninth overall, which is an amazing feat so well done Australia.

Back on topic. Hopefully they make a cool motorsports pin like No Fear again!
