It's missing the mermaid porn.

It’s there
Just not as I imagined it….

Quoted from Pinball-Wiz:

Does it seem that most of the people getting NIB's ready and delivered are not in the USA or is it just me? I thought that the buyers in the US were represented pretty good.
Can't wait to see more land in the USA... the one at EXPO was amazing IMO.

I know of 2 US delivered that don’t post on Pinside. But it does seem that mostly Australia owners are posting.

Only US folks posting are the ones that opted for air transport. Some posts back there was mention of a container being filled for a slower sea shipment.. So if that is the case there will eventually be a largish number all at once in the US receiving..

Did they send you tracking or freight id info of any kind ? Depending on the transport there may be a sight where you can track where the ship is on the ocean even..

No.
Mine was paid off for approximately 2 weeks ago. There's an additional 8 weeks approximately that you wait before it hits the container.
Haggis has been great no concerns here.

I'm about to clock up week 9 since payment and don't expect mine before Xmas though.

Nitro informed me that 5 of their units are built and waiting on a container which is not filling due to the number of air shipments. They asked each of us if we would be willing to pay for air freight as they don’t see the container filling any time soon. I opted to pay for air.

You could still opt for sea freight by yourself by LCL (less than container load) - will be significantly cheaper than Air. Get a rebate for the portion of freight that Haggis allowed.

Quoted from rai:

I agree it’s just too bad that they want the money so far in advance. Especially when I see how quickly TNA is being made and shipped.

Not a slight, but Spookies lines have been humming with HWN and UM pins for almost 18 months. Its a decently well greased operation. Haggis is not there. Odd comparison really..

That will be 17 weeks then. And no doubt they will have a xmas shutdown for a couple of weeks so you may see it at the end of January if you're lucky.

Thanks. I actually just played one in a local friend's collection last week.

Cool game! He's had a few issues with it unfortunately though.

No mate. It's the right money, but you have to want a full resto Taxi i spose.

Thinking of going from 26 machines down to 8 or 10 and buying a house with the proceeds.

#5720 1 year ago

If you stop buying and selling the Australian pinball sales will halve ! ha ha ha
House is more important me thinks and if you wait a little longer I am sure you will get a bargain
at another poor soles expense due to economic climate.

Pretty much stopped buying already, have Mermaid coming and a new resto of an NBA Fastbreak. The rest is just selling now unless i see something i fall in love with.

Quoted from frobozz:

My one comment on the software after playing it at Expo is they have to work on the UI basics on the 7 segment score displays. When you hit start, player one display should be lit up with 00 and the other 3 blank. As you add players, 00 should appear in each successive player score window. When it's a player's turn their score should blink. None of that was happening, so we were having a really hard time starting multiplayer games or knowing who was up. Admittedly, I think this information was probably discernable on the teeny tiny apron displays with the itty-bitty fonts, but come on, at least get the traditional displays behaving right first.
Anyone have close-up pics of the mechs underneath? (I'll go look back through this thread in a moment.) I'm curious if they simply repro'd the old Bally inline drop mech, or came up with something more clever. Also, the flippers felt like the bad old Bally linear mechs; surely nobody would actually bother reproing those? Maybe it was just "show fade" ?

The flipper mechs are modern WPC. Flipper strength would be adjustable in code, there could be some show fade but by default they should be snappy.
The drop target mechs were kept fairly consistent with the original ones because we were using the same targets. I created an opto board to replace the switches for sensing when they are down and instead of using a coil + plunger solution to drop the inlines in code, that is done with a magnet and arm (similar to other modern 'smart' drop targets).

It went on the back burner while doing Haggis stuff. But...
Working on it currently. Tweaking some of the shots a bit because geometry was a bit tight but it is staying roughly the same. Hopefully have my 2nd WW cut before the end of the year and can fine tune and start coding modes etc...

#5726 1 year ago

Shots wouldn't be so tight if you moved some of those pinballs out of the way....

You still owe me a Celts lesson too.

It's a lovely machine & certainly had a lot of work put into it. Worth that money all day. I played it at Pinfest & thought it was beautiful. I have even briefly thought about buying a couple of times when I look at your add. But I suddenly come to my senses & remember I have the same problem.... 26 machines. I need to go down in numbers not up! Been thinking about that a bit lately. Reckon I would clear the late model machines & have a dozen or so mostly 90's Williams/Ballys. I'm finding these days I'm walking past Godzilla to play Fishtales. I'm leaving GnR off & turning Getaway on. I'm not in a Rush to play Rush. Instead I'm spending the time on my WCS94 resto. Weird or what?

I've barely changed the front five that i play all week in months and months.

Tron gets more play than all my other machines put together, JD and Indie next and then the other two are rotating a bit. I'll have a modern Stern up there (DP atm) and then an old single level game. Atm it's Orbit 1.

I must admit i didn't think a lot of it years ago. It's sort of grown on me over the years. I played it at an event & had a blinder on it & the love began.

#5733 1 year ago

Funny i was the opposite. Just after i got my first pinball we went down to Pinfest and the two machines i walked away liking the most were Fishtales and Whitewater.

Still haven't got a WW, but i had a FT here on loan for a couple months and hardly played it.

Had a Whitewater. Regret selling it. Did so in 2018 for 3.5k. Very nice Japanese import. Won't be buying it back at todays prices.

I can’t stand Fish Tales

Part of it was the particular one that was a fixture in my league that routinely crushed my nights. But more seriously, I think the scoring balance needs work and the music gets on my nerves. The topper is so loud and annoying. The video mode is cute until you’ve done it, and watched others, a couple hundred times.

Maybe I’d like it more if it had the standard flippers and not lightening. Idk. That game always leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

FT is one of the " Best games ever" IMO
Most ( except Gary ) when they have it, they sell it and then buy it back again.
I cleaned up one for my Big Bro's 50th and it is a fixture in the Dolby2 house.

But Fathom Mermaid is mine and mine alone when she arrives.

We have the topper unplugged at our club for that reason.

I’m in agreement with you. I can’t stand it. Was my first pinball and I played it to the point that I couldn’t stand the sight or sound of it.
I’ve tried it on a few more occasions thinking things may have changed but no. Still cringe.

Whitewater is my biggest regret for pins I sold. I always told myself that I could just replace whatever I wanted later at a similar price... boy was I wrong.

Not even sure what's going on with those Contacted AMD the other day and was told still no need for a deposit at this stage and they weren't sure of what their allocation for Prems would be yet. Just looked on their website before and now showing TBA for price on Pro's and Prem's where before they had the new price listed. FK knows what's going on with that???

But yeah it's getting fkn ridiculous i agree, once shipped it will be about $15,350 or thereabouts.

Yall are considering paying 15k AUD?
I don't want bond for 10k Usd or really any other game for that price.

I think if you look at whats going on in general with that particular release, as opposed to previous releases, you can see why AMD are still in the dark there this late in after the launch.

We'll given $A14950K is $US9600, yeah. I don't get how the exchange rates cause so much confusion around here still. I guess that's why I still always convert to USD as a matter of course when I'm talking costs, etc in posts to avoid confusion..

NZ pricing for 007 is:
NZ$14,490 pro
NZ$18,890 premium
NZ$25,890 LE (indicative at this stage)

Exchange rate and shipping are being blamed.

Skippy2904

#5749 1 year ago

Shipping is insane, the reason why AMD is not quoting prices is the shipping rate is changing day to day.

Where i used to get, say 15 cbm LCL from China for $3kau odd, the last one 2 weeks ago was $10.5kau.

My mate just got a Godzilla Premium balance bill and they kept it at $13.5kau, so it's just Bond that is fetching a premium i guess.

To put it in perspective, at Pinfest in sept there was Haggis there with two x mermaids, $12kau odd each.

Next to them was Homepins offering, Spinal Tap, listed price we were told was $17.5kau

One more up was AMD with Rush premium listed at $13.5kau

GO HAGGIS !!!!!

#5750 1 year ago

All I can say is... Bond will want to be a F&%king great game!

If this is the future of new machine pricing I don't see quality used machine prices reducing to any great extent anytime soon.
