Can you drive to Keysborough and pick it up ? I would. Pics of loaded game. "what game did you bring home today " thread.

I wouldn't be able to wait , Id take the afternoon off work and hire a van from Bunnings .

That's Home Depot for our American friends if they're playing along at home.

How long was your payment to ready wait time mate?

No idea to be honest, it was paid in full voluntarily a long time ago. I travel a lot for work and am mostly uncontactable when so, just wanted it to be paid up so it could be delivered when it was ready without me being home if that came to pass

I would love to but I’m not even in the country at the moment! It will probably get home before I do.

Ok, bold move. I hate the whole deposit scenario (especially non-refundable) at the best of times. Impossible to tell in that case then I guess, although sounds like a long time compared to those who were invoiced later.

I believe I am invoice 157 if that helps people playing at home

Invoice 219 payment request received!

Wow so it looks like they are requesting payment for 100+ machines ahead of where they are upto.
I guess they will be hitting up season ticket holders for payment of Centaur to help finish off the last 150 in about 3 years!

Mine was 200, so sounds like a lot of machines in between potentially

Maybe not
Every order for a machine was most likely placed after an order for a clan membership
So it could be that for every 50 invoice numbers it’s 25 machines

#5662 1 year ago

My machine arrives today!

But I won’t be home to open it

It has been so fun! There have been people playing it and taking photos of it pretty constantly. People are just so impressed. We updated the code last night and all seems fine. I have lost my voice hours ago.

There was a ball stuck on a plastic in one shot. The second shot looks like when a solution was being sought while the plastic was removed.

True, trying to work off their invoice numbering has proved pretty fruitless to date by all accounts.

My one comment on the software after playing it at Expo is they have to work on the UI basics on the 7 segment score displays. When you hit start, player one display should be lit up with 00 and the other 3 blank. As you add players, 00 should appear in each successive player score window. When it's a player's turn their score should blink. None of that was happening, so we were having a really hard time starting multiplayer games or knowing who was up. Admittedly, I think this information was probably discernable on the teeny tiny apron displays with the itty-bitty fonts, but come on, at least get the traditional displays behaving right first.

Anyone have close-up pics of the mechs underneath? (I'll go look back through this thread in a moment.) I'm curious if they simply repro'd the old Bally inline drop mech, or came up with something more clever. Also, the flippers felt like the bad old Bally linear mechs; surely nobody would actually bother reproing those? Maybe it was just "show fade" ?

Wondering the version of code that you applied ?

Finally found a picture. Looks like a slight modernizing of the old Bally DT mechs (hard to tell but I'm assuming one thing they changed was how the switches actuate) and the usual WPC-era Williams/Bally flipper mech.

Quoted from Zukram:

They gave us v76 which we applied at the show right before it opened. Damian told us it was still undergoing testing and would be released soon.

I didn't put too much time into the new code since I was busy with show things, but even though the show was loud, I immediately noticed more and fancier light shows and some more sounds.

It's definitely more stable too in terms of getting confused about balls. We had this machine at the Northwest show in June running v62 and there were several times when we had to pull the glass to get a ball out of a saucer because the machine was confused. That never happened at Expo (at least not when I was there).

The machine held up well at Expo too after another essentially three solid days of play. We broke a flipper (cracked plastic, not Haggis's fault) but I was able to buy some replacement bats from a vendor on the floor. (That's why the lower flippers were white instead of translucent blue.) Also there is a physical spot where the ball would get hung up (lower left corner just above the apron). That's what those photos a few posts up show. When we pulled the glass to get the ball, I removed that plastic piece to go find a post from a vendor to block that path to getting stuck, though it was too late and all the vendors were closed by then. But a post to block that area would fix that, I'll install one when we get the machine unpacked back in Seattle. (Haggis may have addressed that in the production runs too, the machine we have was way earlier in the run.)

I like it better with white flipper bats and the next thing I'd be changing is the flipper rubbers to yellow! Happy to read all the great press on the game.

Probably some sort of show fade? All previous reports and videos from owners and other demos seem to agree that the flippers are strong and snappy!

We have had several issues with flippers feeling weak.. In all have had to adjust just about every part linkages too tight, flipper leaf alignment, needed to burnish the flipper leaf contacts, make sure the dual stack leaf was properly gapped and tensioned, etc.. There was something with the dual stack leafs that a when they exhibit low power they are registering multiple times (can tell when the bonus lanes rotate multiple times per flip).. In any case once we got that corrected, flippers feel much improved..

Mine will end up with Precision flippers, probably Halographics.

So I just got my invoice and have a question. Is everyone really wiring this money to them? Seems fishy. I paid the deposit through PayPal (Damian’s account). Not sure why I can’t just do the same or pay by cc.

Dude, went through this with a Halloween distro. Planned on using a zero interest cc, bill came and wire only. I was like wtf, but it was in the paperwork and Everyone assured me it's pretty normal so I wired the money and it worked out just fine. Still would have rather paid 0% interest and take a chunk out of my account but whatever. Going overseas adds a little complication though I understand that.

Yeah that does make me wonder about the timing for more recent payers, in entering my 7th week since full payment. Still reckon I'm likely to land Bond Premium before my Mermaid.

I asked Haggis the exact same question. They are only accepting wire transfers so I went ahead and sent $.

Just the way it is.

Likely because they don't want to take on the additional merchant fees. 3.6% I believe for international transactions on PayPal, CC fees through a bank aren't much better. That all cuts into the bottom line and I imagine the BOM on this game has gone up at least 3.6% since the price was locked in, which I'm guessing has eroded some of the planned margin already.

I didn't hesitate for a moment. In fact, I wired the money within hours of getting notice. There is way too much positive evidence at this point not to if you want the game.

Good one

There are also risks with charge backs and reversals, after they ship the product. At least I have heard from some distributors that the wire transfer is to protect them from that type of scam.

#5697 1 year ago

I agree it’s just too bad that they want the money so far in advance. Especially when I see how quickly TNA is being made and shipped.

Does it seem that most of the people getting NIB's ready and delivered are not in the USA or is it just me? I thought that the buyers in the US were represented pretty good.

Can't wait to see more land in the USA... the one at EXPO was amazing IMO.

I got the games setup after returning from Pinball Expo (after recovering from some con-crud). Had a bunch of kids playing pinball on Halloween.
