Looking for someone to test my James Bond edition plate on their Pro or Premium. Will send it for free if you provide me with your serial number. PM if interested. Thanks.[quoted image]

Thanks for the offers, GorillaBiscuits to take me up on the free plate. Will post some photos once installed. Thanks again.

Quoted from DownSouthPinball:

002 of 1000. Nice. In the bond movies, anytime they introduced a “00” other than bond, they usually either got killed or turned out to be a villain.

Quoted from ZoraShinoda:You are in fort Lauderdale. I highly recommend going to glitch bar. They have 8 games. Last time I was there they had
GZ PRO
IMDN PRO
MANDO PRO
RUSH PRO
LED ZEP PREM
DEADPOOL PRO
AIQ PRO
STTNG
Note two of the games are up front, other 6 are in the back in a separate room, ask for the code for the back room at the bar.

Glitch has Bond Pro now. They took out Mando, Led Zep and STTNG. They got instead Star Wars Pro, Stranger Things, Black Knight Revenge, and TNA now also

Quoted from Black_Knight:

If new you mean for the last 10 years, then yes new. It’s been like this since TWD at least. It took over a year for that code to be enjoyable and now it’s one of the best.
Every machine launched since then has had similar issues. Although it seems like the Elwin games are better than the others.

Yeah, I mean "relative to the time modern Stern has been releasing pins."

And yes, TWD is amazing. The best code Lyman did, and probably Stern's best. It's just a shame it's in an incredibly ugly and gross cab/pf art package.

#405 1 year ago
Quoted from Ollulanus:

When was the last time a game didn't eventually get pretty solid code? Offhand everything I can think of in the LCD era at least has wound up pretty damn good in the long run. Honestly, Mando is the only one I can think of in recent history I wouldn't be pretty happy to have on deck if I had space.
I really enjoyed seeing the game develop on GZ and Rush. I'm not entirely sad the LEs are bare bones right now, confident they'll get there and it'll be a good ride. It's a great layout to work with.

In the Spike era:
WWE is terrible
Aerosmith isn't great
Munsters is thin
Mando is better now, but still not great code

There are probably others that have slipped my mind.

It happens. Basically look at the marketplace. Prices are inflated overall but the pins that didn't mature into great code usually sell for a discount on the market.

Can’t comment on WWE. I own the other three which are beautiful games and ok shooters. All 3 could certainly use code updates…Mando just had a new one and I have not checked it out. New code for all games would really be great and a super selling point. However this hobby is still pretty small and most efforts seem to be in acquiring parts and manufacturing.

Just received my Bond LE and it is at my son’s house. He is a much better player than me. He loves shooting the game, but has discovered the code is extremely immature- over half of the villain modes- no code! I did play a couple of games- Bond theme over and over and over… and over.

Yeah I am more disappointed than I expected, but I also realize that the mechs and shots are very good. Excellent complete code is a way off, but could make this a top game.

Cheers!

I noticed on the bond at my local watering hole, if you flip both flippers 3-4ish times while the ball is in the shooter lane, it awards 20 something thousand points. Does anyone elses game do this? I really don't think its a switch issue

Sounds like a switch issue. Pretty classic case.

#411 1 year ago

I haven't been able to reproduce this, but one time I soft plunged and ended up with the ball coming out of the upper ramp path (the one the ball comes through out of the pops) and got a 3x playfield award and one of the bond girls. Is this a super-secret skill shot? It's definitely hard to do on purpose.

Indeed, it was my first thought too, but its weird it only awards the points 1 time, after seemingly the same amount of button presses. I take note of exacts next time I'm on location.

How long does it normally take for stern to release the official mods for a game?

#420 1 year ago
Quoted from BondLE:

Only one you'll be needing, if you have an le, is a topper. Gz and rush toppers are still not ready yet

#421 1 year ago
Quoted from Hayfarmer:

George thought the topper would be the same one that's comes with the 60th. If that's the case, and 60th is released in month or two, then I would think the topper would be able to be ordered as an accessory soon after that.

Has anyone noticed if the playfield multiplier actually works?
I thought I had 3 or 4x - got Power Plant Points and it only gave me the standard 20M points…

#426 1 year ago

Pro unboxed! I like the yellow...sticks out in the sea of sameness.

Production date 11/28....maybe one the last Pros off the line for the first run?

Look forward to seeing how the early code plays.

Yes, my balls were rusty too.

Quoted from cooked71:On the t-molding, are there 2 different colours being delivered on the LE’s - one looks orange, another looks red. The marketing is orange. Just camera exposure?
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

There isn’t 2 colours of t’s it’s just the pic - mine looks as red as red can be in the pic but it’s the same orange everyone else has…

#428 1 year ago

Yeh, after that post I posted that I thought that might be the case. Mystery solved - no red on JBle. Orange looks good.

#429 1 year ago

The sound in the LE is amazing compared to my other LE like STLE. Don’t need a subwoofer with this one. Haters of this game will wish they bought it once the code is done. Fun machine.

My only gripe is if you shoot between the two ramps on the right and the ball comes back it will be STDM. The left orbit also seems hard to hit, but that is fine.

I was initially disappointed with the Scuba Bond, could barely see it, didn't move much ..... turned out it there was a block of foam under the pf that it was zip tied to, for shipping lol.... facepalm! Now he's much more visible and moves around as intended. Just thought I'd admit my dumbassery to help anyone else who didn't know about the foam either.

Finally caught the flow of the game and more than doubled my best score so far!

I'll post more thoughts after I've played it more, but it shoots great! Love the shots, combos, and flow. It's going to be a hit for sure.

Played my Pro for awhile - love the layout and shots. Plenty to aim for and a unique layout.

Great shooter with good flow to it, IMO. I like how fast the upper flipper ramp shot returns to the right flipper.

Few things to dial in...but with future code updates this is going to be a winner.

Bumped around on the PF to find the scores, and it seems like a not gapped well enough Spectre target is likely triggering from flipper vibration. They each award 26,110 points. This is an easy one to verify because when they are completed, the corresponding letter on the backboard is affected. So get it to happen and then see if one of the Spectre letters has changed.

Some folks have said they found the side blade art lame. I think it is really, really amazing. The sketches remind me of what the film people call storyboard cards. It is unique on a pinball machine and I appreciate that.

Between having to adjust the habitrail above the Aston Martin out of the box, and then having to readjust it tonight after working on a mod (replacing the orange/pink plastic under the car, soon to be expanded into a road scene, reference https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/stern-james-bond-007-mod-thread/page/2#post-7298690 for the initial baseline / pics), I decided to look a little more closely at the ejection process and how it interacts with this rail.

I took several super-slo-mo videos after various adjustments, and they show just how different the ejection process is despite very minor position changes. You'll also see it's much more violent than I realized -- the habitrail shakes a lot!

It's important to be sure you have good clearance for the roof to open and not contact the rails, yet still have a smooth feed. This is nearly impossible to see in real-time so I recommend you use this video method to check yours. I expect this will be unique to everyone's individual machines based on slope, ejector strength, etc. As you'll see, all three of these videos end up with the ball in the habitrail headed for the inlane, so you'd think it's all good ... but watch closely, there is more happening than meets the eye.

Here in the first vid, I discovered the ejection was messy -- the ball bounces slightly back toward the car, so the roof panel tries to slam shut on the ball, and then the ball actually bonks off the roof of the car before tumbling down to the main habitrail:

Adjustments made... this time it's redirected a little better but still barely clears the roof/car and kinda floats over to the main channel.

More adjustments made, this was the best I got it for now... it catches a little more of the curved section and floats over the car with a little more clearance. I left it in this setup as "good enough" for now, since I'll be messing with this hardware more as I continue work on the mod.

When you check & adjust yours (by loosening the two nuts at the base of the curved section), you'll want a flat tool to manually lift the roof to ensure you have clearance past the ends of the individual rails. Flex it a little too -- since now you see how much it moves during the event! Test it and shoot your videos by having a loose ball while in attract mode. Any ball dropped into the scoop will eject automatically since the game wants to get reset and ready for a new player.

Has anyone who bought direct through Stern heard anything yet? I'm on vacation on a beach until next Wednesday anyway, but kinda feel like for 13k I oughta have a damn update by now at least...

Yes - I received a shipping update email from Stern yesterday which stated:

“ Congratulations Stern All-Access Insider on your successful purchase of a James Bond 007 Limited Edition pinball machine! We wanted to provide you with an update that your game will be shipping to you by the end of next week if not sooner so expect communication arranging your shipment. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reply back to this email, we're here to help!”

Have a James Bond premium (You Only Live Twice) translite for trade.

Looking for:

Elvira HOH translite or banner
Godzilla pro translite
Rush banner

Shoot me a PM to upgrade that hideous Dr. No translite

BOND LE #772 in the house. After playing it awhile last night I can tell you it's definitely fun. You can tell it's an incomplete game, Code Version .70. That said, from my limited plays so far I see huge potential for this game to be outstanding. It is a little reminiscent of Batman 66 which is one of my favorite games. I have got to believe Stern will come through on the code and make this game every bit as good, if not better. Will it top Godzilla, probably not, but it has a lot of potential.

I would already rather play it than GZ.
Not just because it’s new. GZ is great. This is going to be better than great once you can stack like crazy and control your pf multipliers and see and hear a bunch of the theme.
