Quoted from Ollulanus:

The existing bumpers are fine everywhere but on the henchman ramp - they take the vast majority of the impact, deflect and minimize actual impact on the exposed edge behind it. It's a standard design and really does work fine. The problem with the henchman ramp is twofold - that bumper is set too far away from the ramp to do its job best for the upper flipper, but more importantly, where it sits means bricks off the lower flipper will dead-on it regularly, and HARD. Some impact and wear is normal in a pin, it's about managing it.

No, they are not. My rail to the right of the rocket had a big ding in it. All of these ramp rails should have been bent on the ends like my STLE and the villain ramp should have a better bumper that is on both sides and doesn’t take up the lane with a thick bumper on one side only.

Quoted from iceman44:

Yeah I’m not buying the whole “Lonnie takes this amount of time on past games…..”
This is today and for what Stern is charging they need to get it together. No excuses
Elwin games seem to come much better prepared at launch and he has a great team working together.
I got my LE over a month ago and just got it set up this weekend figuring a code drop was around the corner.
I’d say it’s slightly ahead of BM66. But It was the first LCD game under the Spike system I think. How many years ago was that?
The game has great potential and I think it’s gonna end up being fantastic. But come on man, let’s go
Small updates more frequently?

Yes Exactly

Quoted from iceman44:

Is there a bug on .80 code where the jet pack won’t start in the proper position?
He stays in ramp position and ramp shots hit him and fall off the ramp. Started doing that after updating code.
Test mode won’t work either. It will move over to the missle and back.

I had this issue in one game. For some reason at the start of the game he didn't index out forward of the ramp and balls would gather or fall off at his feet when running into him. I restarted the machine and it has worked fine ever since. No idea why although I wonder if I hit the START button to fire a new game too quickly (or at exactly the right time) after finishing a previous game and it somehow missed the step to set the start position of Jetpack Bond?

I attributed it to immature code and handling of various events but since it hasn't repeated, I haven't been able to confirm.

#2204 1 year ago

Played a few games again last night. Exploring the shots and combos. I really hope they do something to involve the fire button more. For now it's not in the code yet but I sure hope we use it for other things than just a bonus multiplier for the Bond Girls.

Also, if I recall someone said there is an option to have the jukebox music on even if you are not playing. Like in attract mode. Like AC/DC or Metallica. Is it true ? Metallica and AC/DC you just have to hold the right flipper button for a few seconds and then hit left or right to shuffle between songs. I always liked that option. They paid so much for that license and since we don't have the best songs in the pin (yes Goldfinger and Thunderball i'm looking at you) can we at least be able to hear whatever 10 songs we are suppose to have whenever we want ?

Last (for now) they really have to correct a few things so multiballs doesn’t cancel a henchmen or a villain mode when you are already into one. Stack option please.

That is all……for now…..thank you

Thx. I’ll have to play around with it tonight again and see what else might be causing it. Maybe waiting longer to hit start or re install code again.

Yes, just hold both flippers in together for a few seconds. Screen will show "Choose Your Mode of Play." Use the flippers to pick Standard, Competition or DJ Mixer. Hit the action button to select and you're in. Once the DJ Mixer is running, you can exit it by hitting Start. At least on code 0.80 this is how it works. There are only three songs in the DJ Mixer so not much there yet but obviously we'll expect more as time goes on.

Godzilla has this along with a couple other features. I assume these other features and adjustments will come in later code updates on Bond.

Thanks, I knew someone mentioned it somewhere.

Quoted from Ollulanus:

Here's a before/after with the standard thin stern post sleeve and a normal thick sleeve on the pop/bond girl divider. Should take care of the edge impact there, and shoota a little smoother to boot.
Also put that edging from Amazon on the henchman ramp - works great, doesn't affect the shot at all that I can tell. I've got it dialed in pretty good and still hit it fairly consistently. Great find there.
[quoted image][quoted image]

Yep I’m changing to thick sleeves on that same girl divider and on the right side of the henchmen ramp. Will use Amazon edging for left side of henchmen and possibly the Q ring scoop edge as that has taken some hard shots I feel as well.

Getting the game set up. It was on location, so giving a quick wipe down making sure all the posts are still tight, replaced one post rubber that was getting worn at the entrance to the rocket ship. Looks great and looking forward to turning it on and playing.

In the meantime, I noticed I have these ramp edge protectors installed. Don’t know if it’s aftermarket or if it’s stern, but it looks factory.

I've been blocked by moderators from posting photos in threads, so can only post a link to the photos. (not a criticism of the mods either, just stating a truth)

Until there is a dragon tank mod for pre/le I think the 2smd red flasher gives better effect.

Why were you blocked from posting pictures??

Those are the Stern factory edge protectors, but they don't actually protect the ball from hitting the edges exposed on the henchmen ramp. Might help with a straight on hit, but most of the henchmen hits come from offset or side hits and that ramp edge is completely exposed and ready to chew up balls.

Has anyone made a custom card to replace the insider connected instruction card?

#2214 1 year ago

I hope next update has more of Q’s gadgets and really hope we get integration of Bond women when scoring mode started. Movie clip or some dialogue.

What else do owners want to see?

Any kind of update would be nice

As stated recently this is beyond ridiculous

I'm hoping for a flipper status check.

#2217 1 year ago

Has anybody come up with a fix for the drop targets which constantly reject strong shots? It’s brick city at my house!

I want to see the passion Gomez showed us at the unveiling lol

He promised a lot of things i'm still waiting for, he can take his time, but in the end that's what i'm expecting.

Licensor approval for videos is one thing but completing modes for villains, henchmen, bond women, Q gadgets, spectre weapons is another thing. Get on with the modes even if there is no videos or speeches but let us see what you are doing so if you get too far ahead and there is some alterations to do we can catch it.

Better have all the feedback you can now instead of coming up with a full version only when licensor approved everything.

We all know when the next cornerstone will come out people might jump ship and that would cannibalise sells. Show them the potential of Bond with more modes now.

Anyway, that's how I’m seeing it.

From what I saw in the assets a DB5 multiball is in the works, and some Q branch stuff.

bond2 (resized).jpgbond2 (resized).jpg

And I'm hoping they can make the scoring look like this:

Anything and everything. I've never bought a game with this level of early code before. This is painful.

To the person that said they can die happy now that they have a Bond LE: No, you can't die until the code is finished! (And you hopefully have beaten the wizard mode.)

#2221 1 year ago

Just played Dr No Pro on location for the first time. Interesting that you can time a bounce to use the back of the upper flipper to put the ball into the jetpack eject hole. I wouldn't call that a "backhand" shot but what is the term for that type of shot?

Quoted from Grantman:

Well, “you only live twice” so maybe he can!

Perhaps this is some often under-utilized strategy taught at the Wharton Business School?

We got spoiled with his multiple podcast appearances and live streams last year and now it's been radio silence as there's not much to talk about until new code arrives. Hopefully all the lost momentum will get restored with a juicy update soon.

I guess now, lol

Cool. Sounds like they added a bunch of modes as most of the shit they “changed” is completely unfamiliar to me.

Yeah new code looks like a lot of fixes.

Curious to read the upcoming feedback. I am on the fence for buying this machine. But, I kind of agree that this update seems like 90 percent bug fixes and not much in the way of content. Hope I am mistaken.

Orient express, disco demolition, and outer space hijack sound like new modes to me.

This is .84. A lot of the “fixes” are stuff that was implemented since .80.

And the “preview model” text is gone !

Release note says "Added 22 Insider Connected Achievements" but the website still shows 39 (https://insider.sternpinball.com/insider/games/118/achievements). Does anyone know how long it takes for that to be updated?

Jet pack multiball start just ended my Q mode. Not looking good for stacking.

#2239 1 year ago

Funny! Walk over to my laptop and see new code is released. Walk over to Bond and it's nearly finished updating.

This game has the flow, combos, shots and feel I enjoy. Only can go up from here!

#2240 1 year ago

I heard my game gurgle and pop, which means it must have updated and rebooted.
Can’t play tonight though
It’s dark out now and the aliens come at night, it’s not safe to go downstairs till morning.
I’ll try the new code tomorrow

#2241 1 year ago
Quoted from Psw757:

Nowhere near the same level of force. It’s been talked about over the years.

Just played the outer space hijack. It was a one of the new SPECTRE hurry ups. Used the same music from MR Henderson. It was basically shoot the rocket shot over and over again and was worth a ton of points. Seemed to have some cool lighting effects too.

Could you share how you got the rubber stripping in place? I’m finding it extremely challenging.
