No. 6... unbelievable. This one was on ball 1 but costed me the entire game. Someone needs to redesign the compensation-rule code. This is BS!

Is there no coin door ball save? Also, judging by the ball trail you're playing the crap out of your new game so obviously enjoying it, that's awesome!

Yes but it is off by default. You have to enable it in settings.

Was looking for a spot to put my Perth mint Thunderball silver coin and discovered it’s the exact same diameter as the tournament button plug. Covers it perfectly.

They also have you only live twice and Dr. No coins available.

Quoted from GRB1959:

Well, I knew it might happen at some time, but my James Bond LE arrived about an hour ago and the box had quite a bit of damage and the cabinet was also damaged. After inspecting the shipment I told the Fedex Freight Priority driver that I will not accept the damaged James Bond LE pinball machine and he was very cordial and said he fully understood and loaded it back onto his truck.

FedEx freight is turning out to be a nightmare here. At least your delivery driver showed so,e sincerity.
I have now rescheduled delivery for the 3rd time. Each time I take the day off and stay home, only to get a call well into delivery window telling me they are not coming.
Yesterday I had hope for today’s delivery window as tracking showed it arrived in Long Beach yesterday afternoon. I got a call today saying that they were not able to get it in to the Long Beach station (even though tracking shows it.)
I know there are serious weather delays, but getting cancellation calls well into delivery windows is frustrating.
The delivery for my FedEx “Priority” shipment is now January 10 - 21 days after shipment. Hoping for a miracle of no significant damage.
I do have a new topper idea for pins that survive FedEx!

It's good to know that I can buy a $500 coin (legal tender in Tuvalu only) for $30k in case I'm ever in a Brewster's Millions type situation.

Bear in mind, with the exchange rate that's about $350 USD, not $500. Don't want you feeling screwed when you cash it in

Our 007 dress up kits are now available to cover the apron warning and QR decal. These ship overseas for just $2 extra! Bond is the first game where the seizure cover up on the the apron is available as a magnet or a decal. This gives premium and LE owners a choice for their metal apron.

I've had some time off this week and finally put in a few more games. I really like the way it shoots and can't wait for some more call-outs and video assets to be added! I also got my clear plastic protectors from Gameroom Mods and they fit like a glove. I appreciate that they added protectors for the shooter lane plastic as well as the plastic below the eject on the left.

FYI, I picked up some ninjacamp switch protectors in bulk prior to delivery, mainly to pop one in the right inlane where people have had ball hang issues. Works great there, have had no trouble. However, I put them on all the slots since I had them - lots of minor negatives, with slowed shots, occasional hangs and rejects. Good product, good company, but I think they're just a little thick for regular use on this game at least. Still nice to have for high wear areas and I'm selectively installing some on some other machines. Did solve the inlane hang on the right, too

Also, if you put them on bond I'd go black, not clear.

Happy New Year to all!
Looks like more and more Premiums are starting to ship. Just got an email from Dominic w/ The Pinball Company that my premium will ship out on Tuesday 1/3. Can't wait!!

My weekend project is playing with flipper angle adjustments, since it's super easy with Precision Flippers being topside adjustable. Early yet, but definitely agree with the earlier posts about the upper left adjustment, and I've tried a few variations so far. Interestingly, my stock flipper was pretty much dead on where suggested here out of the box (see photo), so maybe Stern figured that out too.

So far, lining dead center on the alignment dots does seem best for the main flippers, but I'm just getting started. If anyone feels like theirs is shooting really clean for all shots, I'd love a dead level photo of those main flippers to try where you're at. I'll post what I feel is best Sunday once I've had some time with variations.

#925 1 year ago

Just got text from FedEx, Premium to be delivered Wednesday 2 to 4 PM.

#926 1 year ago
Quoted from Jarson:

Got my LE yesterday! Been playing it ever since. Luckily for me it arrived in nearly perfect condition. (although needed some tweaks to fix the upper right gate and kick out of the lower left). One thing I have not been able to tweak to my liking, is the pop bumpers. The action just is not like other pop bumpers with individual operation. Since both pops activate at once, the ball hits the opposite pop but it does not activate right away, most likely because there is not enough time for the mechanism to reset. I will futz with the pop strength in the menu if I can find it but I'm bummed for now, as that is a long shot.
Looking forward to a mod that will give me back independent pops!

But Stern swore up and down that we'd never notice the difference! I remember when they said they didn't have stereo sound (SAM) because we wouldn't be able to hear the difference. They just make the narrative fit the situation.

So, I have an LE on the way. And I got my chance to play one today, have previously only played the pro.

Godzilla is a game where you absolutely must get the premium if you can. This is not. 007 is the only Stern game I’ve seen where I don’t think there’s a real point to spending the extra money.

The virtual locks for the Bird 1 don’t matter that much. And the jetpack honestly doesn’t add much. The diver under the glass doesn’t add much like the Krang toy on TMNT does.

Don’t get me wrong, I like this game and I’m sure I’ll enjoy my LE. But I think if you get a pro, you won’t be missing much.

There is going to be at least one additional jetpack mode so we'll see how much that adds to the game...when they get around to finishing the code. There is a lot that is missing right now and I'm sure hoping that they put in the effort required to polish this game the way that it deserves.

Yeah, Godzilla got a LOT better over the first year. I have no doubt this will too.

I really wish they’d pay for more music. That same theme is already getting so old so fast.

I was under the playfield this evening and this wiring caught my eye, it was pulled super taut, to the point that it was flexing the lug on the switch:

20221230_230357 (resized).jpg20221230_230357 (resized).jpg

In the bundle right above it, the wires in question had an extra loop wrapped & cinched in this zip tie. I carefully cut the zip and freed the loop, to relax the tension on the wires. Next time you're inside yours, you might want to evaluate and see if you have the same. It's not attached to anything that moves but still not ideal to have it stressed like that.

The wiring to the light on the orb in GotG Pro was like this for me. No wire to spare.

Is there any alignment mark at all on the upper flipper? Just curious…. Thanks.

#935 1 year ago

Any of you LE owners willing to share a high resolution scan of the LE certificate? You can certainly remove your game info if needed. (Not trying to pull any shenanigans here! ) Working on a piece of art for the gameroom and this would fit perfect. Have a Premium coming soon and want to do something different than the art on it.

PM me if you can. Thanks in advance for any help.

Speaking of clear coat. Our Bond PF has more of a textured finish - not exactly the high gloss finish we gave on all of our other games. Has anyone else noticed?

Quoted from NC_Pin:

It seems to be the new normal at Stern. Very, very thin clear so the underlying art ink gives it a kind geographic relief. Some of the last run Godzilla were worse, IMO.

Quoted from matt68061:

Not on the LE at least, probably due the plastic over the scuba scene there. Currently I've got one of the screws holding it down centered in the tip of the Halo flipper, though I think I'm gonna bring it back to the right a bit.

Same story here. I've worked with mainehomerec before, so I'm not worried about it - but it's frustrating to have such a long wait with no communication from Stern.

Finally set up Bond last night. Love the shots on the game and I see a ton of potential. No use beating a dead horse on the code, it’s bare bones. Came with .7 code, so updated that and swapped all the easy to access rubbers to titan clears. Lots of fun. Ready to see how it evolves.

Looks really nice. I'd change out the start button to a red one and put a red translucent shooter rod on to finish the look.

This has probably been posted before. I apologize if it has.

My LE arrived. Got it setup. Great game. No issues right out of the box. I decided to install my custom shooter rod I got and lifted the playfield. I had no idea that the Bond underwater action figure had shipping foam and a zip tie on it. I removed all of the shipping stuff above the playfield but hadn’t raised it until I’d played a few games. I had thought that the figures weren’t moving much initially. They do move a bit better now. I was at a friend’s house today and noticed his still had the foam. He wasn’t aware of it either. Thought I’d reach out.

Just a PSA for LE and soon to be Premium owners.

This will be a great game when code is done. Leaving mine off until the next update. Without a complete theme it gets boring quickly.

Indeed, my tech adviser in hindsight always smugly reminds me to “RTFM”, in reference to my lack of reading the Effing manual before firing up whatever it might be. That said, 007 never had much patience to listen to what Q had to say about the latest gadgets on offer, LOL!
