Quoted from Tsskinne:

Just putting this one out there someone should contact ColorDMD about coloring Goldeneye! I don't have the skill, but I bet one of you owners out there does and I would love to see that dmd in full color

Couldn't agree more, I'm very computer literate so could probably do it no problem but really need to read up on how it's done but I'd love to see Goldneye in colour it's the last modificstion/modernisation/upgrade I'd do to my Goldeneye.

Lookin good Nate, there really isn't a lot to work with the helicopter is about as basic as it gets for a mold, I've replaced the tank with an official goldeneye licence replica think it was 1:64 scale cannot quite remember, but it looks superb really detailed. Unfortunately they didn't do a helicopter model that was much smaller than 1:18.

I'm in the process of restoring my Goldeneye to new with NOS satelitte, boards, playfield, plastics, decals, every mech and target also new. I've also got licenced db5 and Ferrari to go on ramps.

Only thing I need to tackle is the helicopter and I might go for a custom mold/sculpt which won't be cheap but my NOS playfield and new cabinet with decals haven't been cheap so what the hell.... Would there be much interest from other goldeneye owners for a detailed toy or would people just be looking for a repro of the basic factory model??

Quoted from zucot:

Would love to see a new bond pin that spans the history of the franchise. Don't think it's feasible given all of the licensing involved, and doing any subset of it would feel incomplete. I'm guessing the only way this could happen would be if it focused on a future movie.

I might be wrong but guessing by some of the merchandise that's available maybe certain aspects of Bond licensing allows the inclusion of the franchise as a whole? (Obviously never say never again wouldn't be counted)

Even though the rights have changed over the years, they keep releasing updated franchise box sets with each new film that's released, monopoly based on the whole franchise, posters, collectible magazine series, the history of Bond vehicles etc. Fingers crossed my guess is right because I would buy a bond franchise pin day 1!

#244 7 years ago
Quoted from Tsskinne:

I've heard rumors of JJP being in the process of this.

same here, the rumour I've heard is JJP wants the franchise as a whole which would be perfect, especially if they timed it with the next new film release and had assests to work with from the film ahead of the movies release so they could coincide the releases.

Quoted from Rondogg:

Those look dynamite. You could also print onto clear stickers or water decals...

They look awesome but that was the first thing I thought when seeing them could they be printed on to a clear material? Great work Nate!

I have a NOS plastics set, would anyone be interested in repro plastic sets? If I could get HD scans of them and some sets made here in the UK I would be happy to before I installed them on my NOS playfield and begin my NOS rebuild this year.

Just wondering if anyone would be interested, as I am considering doing it anyway so I have a spare repro set for myself.

#304 7 years ago

Awesome thanks for that Rondogg I didn't even think about Retro

I have pm'd Pete RetroRefurbs about some decals so I will message him about this project, depending if I can get enough people interested, be great to help out fellow GE owners.

#305 7 years ago

If people would be interested in a set of repro plastic set from Goldeneye using scans from my NOS set, either give me a thumbs or post your name here so I can keep track of numbers, I am terrible when it comes to keeping track of my pm inbox, so either a list of names or thumbs on this message that way I can keep track and thumbs or @ tags will link straight to you guys, that way I can fire you a pm to update anyone interested.

Quoted from brenna98:

What was the process to get to the After?

Yeah that is one hell of a restoration job, I have zoomed right in and wouldn't have known if you hadn't of posted the before pic, very nice work

#339 6 years ago
Quoted from PappyBoyington:

I'm going to scan and retouch the satellite sticker on the ramp unless somebody has already done this? I just don't see the point in paying $40 for a complete set when I only need one sticker. I'll give it a couple of days before I start. Hopefully somebody has already done this.
Also, I know somebody has already scanned the 007 crotch rot area and replaced it with a sticker. Hopefully this person will also speak up.

Quoted from toasterman04:

Well jeez..... hope it's just a fuse..... so many times it is not .... such a fun game thou!! It's never leaving!!
Oh and ya I hope we can find the crotch rot master.... mine is bad

I have a NOS playfields, NOS decal/sticker set and NOS plastic sets.

I'm more than happy to take scans or HD pics of playfield areas, the same with decals hd scan and make repros, I did post in this thread about getting some repro plastic sets done from my NOS set but literally 3 people got back to me.

Quoted from thestreetzking:

I love the game though, I got the game for a steal but put so much money into it to get it working.

I really am at a loss, and its depressing, id take a big loss if I sold it.

If it makes you feel any better I doubt anyone has as much money in Goldeneye as I do

I have brought every possible game specific part NOS with the plan to do a NOS restore it will look as good if not better than when it came out the box, which is only going to swallow up more money but it's my grail game so I don't care

#353 6 years ago
Quoted from PappyBoyington:

And that's all that matters. I have a couple of games like that.

Exactly! It was the one game I kept during/after my messy separation and I had a nice collection, but Goldeneye had to stay at all costs

#355 6 years ago
Quoted from lemonski:

there are so few parts around for GE

I may be to blame for that

I am going to speak to Pete RetroRefurbs about it but I also have a local company that do all sorts of print work so will be speaking to them and then seeing how much interest there is for stuff before I use all mine on my restore.

#357 6 years ago
Quoted from ledge:

nice.
my helicopter has seen better days.... none of those around are there ?
i did put an aston martin on top of the right ramp and that looks pretty good...
contemplating mirror blades

I have a set of original SEGA models, but I also have diecast models that are movie accurate for the Helicopter, DB5, F355 and best of all the Tank

I will probably use the diecasts as they just look 100% better than the originals but I am still unsure if I am going to go for a completely original restore or update it a little here and there.

I like the idea of Gold Mirror Blades

Cool keep us posted richyrich I plan on starting my NOS restore of Goldeneye and I have been trying to workout if I am going to go original with all my NOS parts or custom in some areas, interested to see what you do.

#372 6 years ago

I plan on re-plating my ramps always interesting to see other options though.

#380 6 years ago

Are a couple of those images are from the recent Goldeneye game? The one with the shadowed man with the glowing eye looks familiar.

#383 6 years ago
Quoted from lemonski:

At some stage I need to redo my cabinet, but I'm torn whether to stay original with Retro Refurbs decals, or do something like this. I'm not big on mods and bling, Swinks' upgraded satellite dish is as far as I am going

Same dilemma here redo the original artwork with decals I got a few years ago (from Germany, although I have looked at the retro refurb version and may pick a set up and use which ever is best/closest to the originals) or go with something original that would work with the rest of the art on the translite and playfield, decisions, decisions

2 weeks later
#390 6 years ago

A new speaker panel decal would add the perfect finish to your new art package

#392 6 years ago
Quoted from richyrich:

Funny you mentioned that.
Working on something ,at the moment

Cool, look forward to seeing the final package. I'm not sure whether to go original with my restore or custom or maybe a little in between

#393 6 years ago

Would anyone be interested in this Tiger helicopter? It needs re painting stealth back to look exactly like the one from the film but other than that it's the exact model used in Goldeneye.

I have a couple that are on a smaller scale that I will be using on my rebuild/restore, so just thought I would ask if anyone might want to use a slightly larger model?

Don't want anything for it below are some pictures.

If you'd ship it I'd take it.

Yeah that wouldn't be an issue for me I don't want anything for the model, would just rather someone here can use it over chucking it out.

Aslong as you don't mind paying the shipping, send me a pm with your details and I'll see what the quickest and cheapest way to get it to you is.

Quoted from alistaircg:

Does anyone have High -res artwork of the triangle apron stickers on the left and right please?
Mine are totally faded, I have resources relevant to Goldeneye to trade if need be

Give me 2 weeks and I’ll scan the apron decals and satellite decals for those that have asked and post links in here.

I have a NOS set of decals that I can scan.

#484 5 years ago
Quoted from Tsskinne:

Anyone else want one of these...

Yes please how much?? And I assume it’s a translite?

And can he do one for the other 23 Bond films?? I’ll take one of each!

#486 5 years ago
Quoted from alistaircg:

Thanks, now i just have to scan in the cab artwork , retouch it and print it out. Unless anyone already has the cab artwork ?

I have hi res cabinet decals, they have the pixelated look of the original artwork, although not quite sure how to scan those in

#491 5 years ago

Does anyone have a NEW, LIKE NEW or NOS middle ramp?

#493 5 years ago

Thanks Swinks I can see the left and right ramp in the search but no centre ramp l, if you can see that your end could you send me a direct link, thanks.

#499 5 years ago

Yeah I have a couple NOS spares for my rebuild, where you located? Pretty sure pinballlife had these very recently.

Fellow Goldeneye owners I’m hearing someone on Facebook is making new Goldeneye ramps, has anyone else seen or heard about these posts? I don’t have Facebook and I’m waiting on my friend who told me about this to find the post/link..

#599 4 years ago

Ok Bond owners/fans I’m looking for abit of a vote/opinions on doing my Goldeneye restore.

I have all the game specific parts, playfield, ramps, plastics NOS will get the wireforms plated gold. But I haven’t been able to find new SEGA side rails, legs and coin door, should I get these blasted and restored or just use Stern parts? What’s everyone think?

#602 4 years ago

Is that a chrome or just a cleared finish? I was thinking black but maybe a satin finish so nothing shiny, I was also thinking about having some custom rails made with the gun barrel cut around the flipper button.

Quoted from dstickler:

HI everyone. I just picked up a Goldeneye and it is in a rough condition. Any information on Original or reproduction plastics, ramps, helicopter, etc? I have been looking online and not much is showing up. I figured I would try here.
Thank you all for any and all help!

I have a NOS playfield, ramps, plastics etc etc, I have offered them out for reproduction but as of yet none of the ramp guys are interested in doing ramps for Goldeneye yet.

#640 3 years ago
Quoted from dstickler:

Thanks for the update. I hope they will make some new ramps soon. :/ I am still looking for two ramps.

Left and right can be found still or at least a few months back I saw some, the middle ramp is unobtainium.

#649 3 years ago
Quoted from Daximus:

I just got mine all done. I didn't need to find new ramps but did replace a lot on it:
3D printed satellite: https://www.shapeways.com/product/DY42C9EQF/goldeneye-pinball-satellite-dish-modded
I didn't like the look of the tank or the helicopter so found some die cast on eBay and replaced those. May be willing to let the originals go if you want them.
Helicopter: ebay.com link » Postage Stamp 5600 Hughes Ah 64d Apache Longbow Helicopter 1 100 Scale Diecast
Tank: ebay.com link » Rare T 55 Tank James Bond 007 Goldeneye 1 50 Military Model Car Dyg3
New magnet board: https://www.mypinballs.com/electronics/store.jsp
New stickers for the targets were also on eBay
I made my own alternate translite (full res link above) and had it printed by Game on Grafix for $47.
Then a ton of parts from all the usual suspects.
Hope that helps!

Same models I’ve brought for my restore the factory helicopter and tank are terrible.

I also got the db5 and Ferrari from the same serious as the tank for the ramps.

Anyone interested in custom pop caps? Was thinking either Goldeneye silhouettes like the stickers on the factory caps or classic bond gun barrel silhouettes..?

#651 3 years ago
Quoted from Daximus:

Dig the idea of the gun barrel silhouettes on the bumper caps!

I’ve spent that much already buying NOS playfield, ramps, decals, mechs pretty much everything for a complete collectors condition restore that I figure what’s a hundred more on some killer pop caps, was considering casino chip ones as well because of the playfield art with bond and Xenia playing baccarat.

#657 3 years ago
Quoted from MJW:

I see someone post an Apache helicopter to replace the stock one. I found the exact model that Was used in the movie. It does have German markings though.
Also found exact tank “343“. That was used in the movie. [quoted image][quoted image]

Yeah exactly the same as the models I have although the heli will be getting a movie accurate paintjob

Like docquest I plan on putting the LED inside the new model although I’ll probably use red.

Anyone able to give me a little help with an issue I’ve got with my Goldeneye.

F7 fuse blows every time the game is powered on, board checks out fine, the magnets don’t fully work there’s power to them but they are weak.

Anyone had this issue themselves and know what to look for? Thanks

3 weeks later
#665 3 years ago
Quoted from Pintucky:

I can't give you a definitive answer, but if either or both of the magnets are old and weak, I would invest in new ones. I put two or three on my pin a few years back. I think I paid about $30 for each. They are rather easy to change out and maybe that will resolve the fuse blowing issue. If that doesn't do it at least you know you have good magnets in there. I am left to wonder if a bad magnet makes for a huge power drain when you turn it on and it's too much for that fuse.
Mike in Kentucky

Cheers Mike, a good friend of mine worked out the problem, issue with the flasher circuit, causing the HV circuit to bug out once that was removed magnets back to 100%.

Couple more gremlins to work out then the strip begins before rebuilding with a NOS playfield and ramps, should be a beauty by the time it’s done.

#667 3 years ago

That’s cool I’m thinking of making some custom pop caps either bond silloutes or casino chips. Not enough mod love for goldeneye.

Quoted from Pinball_Nate:

Sending out the help beacon again...........
My magnets are totally dead, I have - purchased the brand-new magnet board, installed new magnet.
The switch and ramp work, and the satellite dish turns as expected, but NO power to energize magnet, it is not possible to shoot the satellite.
I will check for 50v on J1 pin 1 and 2 I think?
The modification to move the pin 1 wire into slots 1 and 2 has been done - I think that is the white wire with orange stripe on it.
I am totally flailing - has anyone had to resurrect totally inoperable magnets? (the between the flipper mags are also not functioning).
When I try the magnet test, it doesn't do a thing, they do not activate, when I press the button inside the coin door to activate the magnet, it just makes a "ping" sound not unlike on your computer when you select a key that is not valid and you get that ping sound.
Sooooo frustrated! I recently had a chance to trade this pin for a pin on my want list that rarely shows up, and I can't trade it!
Thanks, Nate

Nate I’ve just had a similar/almost identical issue with the magnets not working, my issue was a short on the flasher circuit blowing the F7 (I think, I’ll need to look in my backbox again to confirm) fuse, kept knocking out some of the high voltage, coils would still work and playable game but no power to the magnets. Might be worth a check.

#671 3 years ago
Quoted from Pinball_Nate:

Thanks! Could you specify exactly what was shorting out, and what you mean by "flasher circuit?" I have checked the fuses and they all appear to be working.
I would really like to find this solution - I'm sooooper depressed that my favorite game goes to someone else because I can't solve this issue and make a trade!
Appreciate you getting back to me.
Nate

One of my lamp holders was the cause for the short, the bayonet lamp holders have the little piece of I’ll call them cardboard between the contacts/connections, one of those was missing creating a short and that was knocking my magnets out of action.

Probably not the best description so give me until Sunday and I’ll snap a pic and you can give your flashers and lamps a look over, took forever to find the issue and it was purely down a very skilled friend of mine who managed to eventually find it after eliminating just about everything else.

1 month later
#705 3 years ago

Just to follow up swinks no one wants a dish smashing mid game. I’ve had a couple of replicas won’t say who sold them but one blew mid game and it created an absolute mess, not to mention a piece dropped below the playfield and sat in the satellite jamming up it’s movement, not what you want with Goldeneye as it’s a temperamental mech at the best of times.

Would be a lot easier for someone stateside to send over a ramp, if someone can do this awesome!

#801 2 years ago
Quoted from Boat:

I haven’t checked in a while but it might be when you shoot the tank ramp, so whatever switch is on that ramp might trigger the trap door

In the code the ramp switch triggers the flap which is operated by the “Tank Trap Door” coil. Testing the “Tank Kicker” coil will fire the ball out of the tank area.

That ball guide was notorious for snapping a tab or the head of the top wood screw clean off. I found a set of NOS ball guides 3 maybe 4 years ago, spent the previous 5 looking for NOS parts to do a full NOS restore, so I doubt there’s anymore about if there was I’d like to think I would have found them.

Is anyone in this thread close to Cliffy? I emailed him last night about some ramp protectors as the factory ones don’t actually cover the ends of the ramps and I don’t want my NOS ramps to ever get smashed up.

Some ramps protectors and a new ball guide 4 would be nice additions for all owners.

#826 2 years ago
Quoted from YERFDOG:

I am down for a set of ramp protectors and ball guide #4. I am in desperate need of them haha! Hopefully somebody is close to Cliffy and we can get these going. Thanks!

I would send my ramps to cliff but being in the U.K. the cost to ship them and send them back would be bonkers.

#830 2 years ago
Quoted from MJW:

Can anyone tell me if Goldeneye right habitrail by flippers has ball bounce back before dropping?
Had habitrail replated and not sure if there was originally some factory absorption material there.
[quoted image]

I have never known Goldeneye to have anything at the end of either ramp.

If your game is fairly steep you will get bounce back off a metal wireform as the balls picking up speed on the way back, you can add a washer or two at the slingshot mount sometimes that is just enough to slow the return and drop the ball through, worked on my AIQ and Goldeneye.

#833 2 years ago
Quoted from YERFDOG:

1)Anybody have a solution to get the satellite ramp to be flush? When activated the front sits flush so there is no problem there, only when it is down it will affect a slow moving balls path. I haven't taken the assembly apart or anything yet but can it be as simple as bending the ramp flap?
2)Is there a crotch wear decal available? I remember reading on here somebody made a cover up decal.
3)Looking for at least (1) speaker grille. Anybody have 1?
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

1. You can add a couple of fibre washers or metal washers to the front of the mech depending on how much you need to lower the flap, that usually works for levelling a number of mechs.

2. There used to be a decal, not sure if it’s available anymore, a lot of people simply colour in the area as it’s black with no graphic detail and mylar over it for added protection.

3. I might have one or two available once I finish my NOS restore, as I might go with custom speaker grill panels of the bond gun barrel silhouette.

#835 2 years ago
Quoted from DrGonzo:

If anyone have a good photo or scan of the crotch without wear I can make a new decal. I need one for myself also so that would be great!

I have a NOS playfield, if you can wait a few days I can snap you a photo pm me an email so I can send it over unless I can send it via pm without Pinside compressing it.

#838 2 years ago
Quoted from YERFDOG:

Thank you for the tips! I am definitely interested in the speaker grills if you go the custom route. Thank you!

I do have a special request if it isn't too much trouble. One of my "Train and Tank" inserts is chipped. Is it possible to get a decal made for that? [quoted image][quoted image]

I can take a photo of any area for anyone as currently the playfield is unpopulated once I start the refurb it will be a little trickier but I will take a shot of the crotch area and the train decal for you mate so you can get a decal made up your end.

LED colourdmd for me is the obvious choice for goldeneye due to the speaker opening design of goldeneye as well as the GOLDENEYE lights on the speaker panel.

However I am a fan of the LED to begin with because I do not like dots XL etc I only use the standard colour DMD dots.

Anyone able to send me a photo of the goldeneye backbox decal/printing.

Trying to locate a replacement screen printing or at the very least a decal but want to check everything is correct first thank you,

Quoted from JFresh389:

Are you looking for just the artwork, or the warnings on the back, or both?

Just the warnings on the back of the back box please dude. Thank you.

Quoted from JFresh389:

Mine isn’t perfect because it had some repairs by someone in the past. Not sure why they decided to paint over the caution symbols (triangle with exclamation point inside), but you can see part of it in the upper right. “Attention” is written in the 5 different languages below the vent holes. You can just see the Italian writing at the right side on mine. If images aren’t good enough, PM your info and I can email.
Hopefully this helps with what you are looking for.[quoted image][quoted image]

Awesome, thank you! Now to see if there is a screen print repro stencil/decal out there.
