Easy
I’m not in the market for one of these but I just listed to the anime guy podcaster do some interview with Arnold Schwarzenegger and as they droned on I was watching the video of gameplay. The game looks like a really good shooter with a lot of shots. Elwin is good with geometry so I have a feeling that the limited few who will get to play these are really going to enjoy them.
Quoted from PanzerFreak:I've updated the list to fit Stern's marketing
2 ultra flippers with 3D ball action
2 super slings with active feedback
4 ultra opto spinners with 360 rotation
2 mega saucers featuring direct lift action
1 4 bank of drops featuring Stern's new bounce back technology (patent pending)
1 3 bank of drops featuring Stern's new bounce back technology (patent pending)
1 3-in-line drops featuring Stern's new bounce back technology with reverse field action
1 360 horizontal spinner bash toy with ultra fast motion
2 pops with twin direction super movement
1 captive ball with momentum feedback
2 control gates featuring active movement technology
then a few stand up targets featuring high density feedback for rapid ball speed
Don’t forget the EXCLUSIVE Union Jack shooter rod (!) with high tension, dual direction spring action!
2023: the year Stern jumped the shark.
Quoted from kermit24:Ice, didn’t you say you were out if the price started with 2? Well it doesn’t. Let’s go you know you want it!
Lol. I do want it, just don’t need it.
The other Bond works for me. Looks very cool and different though.
Photoshop art with poorly placed score reels. Ugh.
Here I thought Stern finally understood aesthetics. Nope.
Quoted from CrazyLevi:I don’t know where all this “no content” stuff is coming from. It’s gaining steam with zero evidence. Why would they buy this license and not use any of that stuff?
I agree. I just read the transcript of the interview with Elwin. Can someone please prove this, no content rumor?
https://insider.sternpinball.com/documents/27/SIPP_Bond_60th_final_transcript.pdf
The only thing I found was this quote that people must of misunderstood. Which happens often on Pinside.
"Keith: To give you an idea how much studying Mark has done, he knows all his
different chimes. We have a chime sound package that's selectable. He's like, "This
chime package, it does five hits and then pause, five hits and pause. And this one does
three just based on various eras of electromechanical games." That's how much
homework he did in some of these sound packages he's putting together"

A retro game with a modern twist of multi balls and “a couple of wizard modes if you can call it that”.
Listening to the interview they didn’t elaborate on content much beyond the “chimes”
Talked a lot about the cool scoring reels being much faster and fun short ball times
Also that interview must have happened a couple months ago… as they said it was gonna launch in December.
Quoted from iceman44:Listening to the interview they didn’t elaborate on content much beyond the “chimes”
The key phrase in that quote was, ""sound package that's selectable".
Also… how is this legit? Is this place selling this game for $12k? If so, how… and if this isn’t legit why is it still up?
Quoted from Mr68:The key phrase in that quote was, ""sound package that's selectable".
That’s good. What about the movie video content? Assuming very little if any, not on brochure or mentioned in interview.
If you like a retro game with modernized elements then that’s how they describe it. Selectable sound packages will be fun with “slot machine effects” too
They also say the retro single level pin is most likely a “one off” for them
Quoted from skink91:Also… how is this legit? Is this place selling this game for $12k? If so, how… and if this isn’t legit why is it still up?

Jason is as legit as it comes. So legit that in the ad it says call him for pricing. lol. Most ads that you have to call in for pricing, have this kind of numeric pricing. Jason and Classic Game Rooms is a great place to shop.

They had it for 99k earlier. Not sure what's going on.
I don't care how good it is, its out of my price range. I can't believe I am buying games at 10,000 but 20,000 is too much sorry.

Maybe, maybe not… that is some pretty sketchy confusing pricing info if you ask me. Isn’t hard to word that stuff so people understand it.
Quoted from hiker2099:Most ads that you have to call in for pricing, have this kind of numeric pricing.
His price is: $ 12,345.00. ...All we need for that explanation is, Count Von Count

Quoted from CrazyLevi:I don’t know where all this “no content” stuff is coming from. It’s gaining steam with zero evidence. Why would they buy this license and not use any of that stuff?
I want there to be clips, but listen to this bit from Keith:
“ The ball times are short, whereas in modern games, they're telling the story, there’s all kinds of clips. Sometimes, the games can take a while. There's a lot to be said about the older games, and sometimes you just want to play a 10-minute game of pinball”
Quoted from CrazyLevi:I don’t know where all this “no content” stuff is coming from. It’s gaining steam with zero evidence. Why would they buy this license and not use any of that stuff?
Because it’s weird that the official marketing material is quiet about this.
Usually, marketing specialists will toot absolutely everything they can. Certainly “content” for a hero product like a 60th anniversary Super Limited Edition based on movie content. So why is there no content info from Stern?
Quoted from skink91:Maybe, maybe not… that is some pretty sketchy confusing pricing info if you ask me. Isn’t hard to word that stuff so people understand it.
the number he lists is
12345
I think most of us can do the detective work.
Jason is one of the good guys in the industry. He doesn't deserve the grief.
Quoted from shlt_thunder:Every single person here who leaves their home and plays on location is going to drop at least a buck or two on this game when they see it, out of curiosity if nothing else.
Not for your 9 months
Why? Just buy centaur for 1/4 the price. It's almost the same layout. I would guess it's actually an even better player.
Quoted from demandecan55:I want there to be clips, but listen to this bit from Keith:

I interpret that as a fast, smooth shooting, bastard of a game w video assets added when it makes sense. Pretty confident they'll find a cool way to implement them...
Another reason for the pf screen...may not be alot of time for looking up...the whole package is just very intriguing to me...
Agree w the pinblades...this one screams for black mirror....
Quoted from CrazyLevi:I don’t know where all this “no content” stuff is coming from. It’s gaining steam with zero evidence. Why would they buy this license and not use any of that stuff?
Because they took out the main method for using it….
Because they said the aim of the project was a classic era game (which didn’t center around multimedia)…
because stern’s own marketing machine isn’t highlighting any assets…. And the guy doing the code basically gave a “it’s not important to this game “ kind of answer to the topic.
Quoted from moat-pin:I’m in. Split with a buddy. Can’t wait.
There ya go..good idea.... I went in halfs on my Paradise.
I can’t understand why they would emphasize the bracket around the playfield monitor like that… instead of covering it with some sort of integrated art.
Quoted from flynnibus:I can’t understand why they would emphasize the bracket around the playfield monitor like that… instead of covering it with some sort of integrated art.
They are terrible with this. Visible screws and nuts everywhere (on all titles). You'd think they'd get better at this over time. They are the anti-Apple.
Oh yeah, and they are STILL putting metal washers under the slingshot plastics? So ugly.

Quite possibly the ugliest art package Stern has ever done. Congrats WPT & 24!!! You’re finally off the hook!!!!
Ok nice. Bond girls prominent all over the cab and back glass.
Pussy Galore should have made the PF though.
The art package, matches the game, “retro”
How else do you get all Bond assets in/on the game?
Front of the cab? What happened there?
I am over the poster art... But for the life of me, I can't understand who looked at the blank black front of the cabinet and thought "That's perfect".
Keith Elwin. 500 machines world wide. No price ceiling.
Most god awful mspaint collage cabinet artwork i've ever seen.
Playfield artwork is cool. but playfield is ruined by that stupid LCD in the middle.
Code is v.90 already. Guess the size of the firmware file could give us a clue as to how much video content is in it.

Agreed....

Nice thanks for the pics! Now.....have you played it?! I'd love to know what the heck happens on the LCD screen.
The topper just looks so boring and uninspired in those pics, more than I realized in the Stern videos.
No side art blades? Is this now not even worthy of a super LE like this? Does this machine include a shaker, or is that now an add-on later too for super LE? Shouldn't the highest of the highest games have all this stuff that really isn't that much $$ to put in the game?
And I know we are all in amazing awe of the screen on the playfield (lol), but this means they saved money by not putting a LCD in the backbox. The score tracking seems like an annyance, especially for playing tournament or VS games.
Even if this isn't about the ridiculous price tag (my opinion and many here's opinion), it still lacks the profile of a super-high end pin that's usually offered at this price and limited production... my question to Stern is- WHY? Even if the playfield disappoints, why the uninspired topper and no art blades.. those seem so simple and generally deliver a big appearance upgrade.
I really wish this whole thread was excitement and anticipation, that's what drives desire for a product... not underwhelming and overpricing, that seems short-sighted.
Who thinks Stern is smart right now? Who thinks Stern is not smart right now? Can our hobby survive all of these cash grabs or are all the frustrating hobbyists going to turn their backs on Stern?
I think we are all missing the bigger plan here - turn Stern into a redemption game company. Most redemption games are in the $10-20K plus new for operators. That pricing model works for kiddo casino where families gamble away their money for trinkets. Code update 2.1 will finally introduce the replaceable coin door with the ticket vendor for this SLE.
Now Stern should wait to build it for two years and raise the price a handful of times while people wait......
$30K!!!!!!

One thing is for sure... that ain't no B66 or EHOH SLE....

This reminds me more of the Primus game...and my understanding is that the quality on those is not so great.
Quoted from Rarehero:Quite possibly the ugliest art package Stern has ever done. Congrats WPT & 24!!! You’re finally off the hook!!!!
It actually looked slightly better in the 3d renders.
There is absolutely nothing high end collectible about that complete package.
I mean really.....?

I mean...there wasn't for the Supreme game either, and look how those sold. Face it...this isn't for hobbyists.
Those live pics are closer to looking like a home edition game. I don’t understand what stern was thinking on this. I absolutely love the 3 Elwin’s in my collection, but just don’t get this at all.
Quoted from Zablon:I mean...there wasn't for the Supreme game either, and look how those sold. Face it...this isn't for hobbyists.
Yeh, but there is also nothing aesthetic about a Supreme brick. There was at least some aesthetic to Supreme pinball.
Quoted from Straight2VHS:Code is v.90 already. Guess the size of the firmware file could give us a clue as to how much video content is in it.
If that’s true it’s even more reason to believe this game will have zero/hardly any video assets. GG’s Bond just got to .80 with only 6 movies of content but this is at .90 and covers the entire franchise? Not a chance. The reason this code is so far ahead is because there is no video. Case closed imo
Quoted from cooked71:It actually looked slightly better in the 3d renders.

It almost looks like they had three different people working on the backbox/cabinet/playfield and they were not allowed to communicate with each other.
