Quoted from Dan1733:I get fooled. Every. Single. Time.
I see 28 new posts in less than an hour. "Must be new pics or video!!," I say to myself.
This thread is like Lucy pulling the football away from Charlie Brown.
See you again in 45 minutes.
The two general rules of pinside:
1) They hate the companies that make pinball
2) They hate how other people spend there money on pinball
...and they will let you know at any chance they get on and thread on any topic.
Suggestion for the Pinside mods: Add the ability to tag a post as "not relevant to the thread" then give users a toggle to hide all non relevant posts in a thread. So for example if a post gets a very high number of "not relevant to the thread" tags then Pinside can internally mark it as such, then when a user comes to a thread for genuine info they can hide all non relevant posts with a quick toggle. Or if they feel like being part of the shit show they can toggle that off and view everything.
I feel this would be far more useful than the thumbs up system which doesn't really do anything as far as decluttering a thread and also better than just blocking people because then you can genuinely miss good posts. Also this would work well because the forum would look and work identically for people that ignore this feature, nothing at all would visually or functionally change for them.
