Just curious if anyone has bought, or knows of, Jamie Scherr out of Tacoma Washington. My buddy wants to buy an arcade game off of him but we're in Guelph, Ontario, Canada, so some guidance would be good. Thanks all..

hes a collector and been a good source for boards and parts and I think your good to go

    Thank you.

He posts all the time in the arcade groups with PCB for sale. Numerous times I've contacted him about a purchase then he when total ghost. Happened twice now on 2 different items.

Can't say I'd recommended him at all.

Not Recommended. I'll leave it at that.

I've never bought anything from him and have had only a few on-line interactions which have been perfunctory at best. He's known for high-ish prices and yeah, ghosting isn't unusual. I haven't heard anything hugely negative but opinions of local folks I've chatted with have been mixed.

He posted a Fish Tales for sale here so I messaged him about it on a Saturday. He then replied to my phone saying he has a couple Fish Tales with pics of his garage, stuff he is working on, etc and said he would be available the next day (Sunday) after 3pm and would text me at noon with his address (which I already knew but that's beside the point) so I could come by and check it out. He never replied. He seems to have some cool stuff but didn't have the common courtesy to follow up. Why someone would post something for sale, commit to being available to show it, and then disappear is beyond me.

Bummer to hear, I’m talking to him about a game and I’ll be a couple hours from him but don’t want to play patty cake back in fourth , must just be a little flakey

I went with a friend last Summer to pick up a metallica from Jamie and have nothing but good things to say . Game was as described, mint, very fair price, a nice guy.

You will get what you paid for from him. It will be as described. If it is a purely straightforward transaction, you pay, you pickup, all done, then no worries. If it turns into anything other than that, it will not be pleasant. He will consider himself 100% in the right, regardless of circumstance that might suggest more nuance than that.
