OK, everything about the drop targets seems to be working fine, but for some reason I am not getting the extra thousands that should be scoring on the drop targets after running the ball through the upper lanes. The upper lanes score correctly, but during the whole game, drop targets are only scoring their "base" 1000 points. It's always "ding," and not "ding....ding-ding-ding."

Any ideas? Where should I be looking for mis-adjustments?

Thanks,
Mike

If none of the top rollovers make the drop targets give the extra 1000, when you've made all 4 top rollovers, most likely the normally open switch on the Drop Target Score relay (G) with a Gr-Wh-Red wire on one terminal and a Maroon on the other is adjusted too wide. If that's not it, check the 4 motor switches in this circuit.

For a switch to work 3 things are necessary:
1) When open, there should be a small space between the contact points (duh)
2) When closing, the long blade's contact point should push the short blade's contact point enough to move the short blade
3) The contact points should be clean, which they usually will be if #2 is happening

Thanks for the help.....I checked the switches you suggested, but the problem persisted. However, I think I may have found the culprit--there are four wires on the "sequence bank" that have been disconnected, with the ends wrapped in black tape. I also see two (but only two) switch lugs that have no wires connected to them at all. These were obviously disconnected intentionally, maybe to keep scores lower? I would like to re-connect the wires, but don't know where they go.....

I'm not near the machine right now, but will try to post a closeup photo of the bank later this afternoon.

That would be great!

I took a closeup look at the bank on my JO. This won't be easy. I notice some differences in wire orientation and a couple small wire color differences (I have solid orange jacketed wires where your machine has solid blue wires) and it is very busy in that area with switch tabs and wires.

Might be easier if you can identify the wire colors that are taped off or disconnected and I can try and see where they might attach.

I took some photos anyway, but I'm not sure they are going to help much. LMK if I can zoom in on an area.

I'm not near the machine tonight, but I will take a look at it and try to identify the disconnected wires and post again in the next day or two. You're right--there's a lot going on in that area!!

Thanks so much.

Viewing it with the playfield up, from top to bottom, the wires are (1) white/green double wires (2) purple/pink, (3) purple/white, and (4) solid purple.

Photos below show the wire colors.

Got it, Runbikeskilee! Your photos got me in the ballpark, and I connected it with jumpers initially until I confirmed it was all correct. My soldering iron is cooling off now, and my machine now works 100% as intended

Thanks so much for helping me with this!

Great!

I was getting drowsy relaxing in the easy chair last night when I saw your post with the wire colors, but couldn't rouse myself enough to go down and open up the machine. Figured I'd do it this AM and find where those specific wires attached and try to verify with the schematic. You pretty much tracked it down yourself from the not so sharp photos.

Enjoy the game play.
