Here's some pics. If interested further, shoot me a PM. Plays super-fast, outlanes are wide open, tight tilt, have still managed to double Casino Run in one game, but only ever got Mega Visor once. Early production, pinbot type locks, colored arrows inserts, purple/blue ramp sign plastic. Code updated to latest version.

Full cointaker LEDs (not flashers IIRC... it's plenty damn bright.)
Goodie bag.
Very low fade.
Laseriffic Topper

Post edited by Frax: change to just for sale

#2 9 years ago

Glad to see a Dallas listing on here. I feel like there should be a "what's for trade/sale in TX" thread to get more sales and trading activity here.

I just picked up a DE Time Machine tonight so I'm not interested in your Jack-Bot right now but maybe in the future if you still have it. GLWS!

#3 9 years ago

DE Time Machine is awesome. Sold one to my mom's husband. They play the crap out of it. I offered to buy it back for what I sold it to him for over a year ago and he declined LOL!

Just wanted to update this real quick, in case anyone finds it using search. Jackbot is off the market as of today. Had a buyer all lined up and I went to start packing it up and decided I can't get rid of it yet. =| If I do anything with it at this point, will likely be a temp trade involving that buyer, so yeah....off the market.

Funny how fast things change...due to my recent suprise Congo acquisition, this needs to go again.

I was going to thumbs down you for selling Jackbot, but now you get a thumbs up for keeping it

Of course I didn't read the post below it, so you get a thumbs down now

#8 9 years ago

Nice looking Jackbot. I would love to own one someday soon. Too bad you have to get rid of it.

#9 9 years ago

Outright sale price?

#10 9 years ago
Quoted from Taygeta:

Outright sale price?

/facepalm. thought I posted that. 2000.

Actually, need a sale right now, not a trade. We are way over full up now.

Quoted from Max_Badazz:

Trust me, if there was any other way, I would keep it. We are ungodly tight on space, we're really about 2-3 pins over what we should have. Tron and Metallica absolutely will not go anywhere. Jackbot is mine, STTNG is my wife's, and it was my decision to buy Congo, so it's pretty much mine, unless it turns into one of those games we just both can't get rid of.

I have a feeling that Hang Glider is going to be a very soon casualty as well.

Price update bump. Meant to change this a while ago and forgot.

#14 9 years ago

Wish I were closer, shipping kind of kills the deal. GLWS!

Maybe a bigger high score would attract buyers.... that low #1 score scares them away

#16 9 years ago

Sadly, that score is gone, as I replaced the ROMs with the latest version of code, as I was holding an IFPA tournament, so felt it was more fair to have the code everyone really knows on the game.

Still have the 0.4a or b or whatever code chips, as it hasn't been ripped and posted anywhere as far as I can tell....really need to get this code revision archived and sent to IPDB.

#17 9 years ago
Quoted from Frax:

Are there major differences in the versions between those and the latest?

#18 9 years ago
Quoted from Max_Badazz:

Substantial, IMO.

For one, on the prelim code, you can't cheat-kill a bomb in Casino Run. All you can do is hope you get a water bucket to protect you against an errant bomb. You cannot score the "lock two eyes at once" for multiple jackpots in the early code either. There's also a LOT of animations and callouts that aren't used in the early code.. the shuttle animation for the jackpots is completely not there if I'm not mistaken, and several of the light shows and jackpot lights are different. You can't double-flip out of the casino run start animation or multiball start on the early code, which can be a little tedious if the game is set up easy and you get those a lot.

Bump for a local dude.

Also, do you guys know who has the Fire on CL? Man, I'd love to have that machine (firemen in the family!), but its way over market. And price is "FIRM".

That price is truly ridiculous....nearly 3k for a fire..good luck to that one!

#21 9 years ago

Really wish you were closer. If we could work out a deal on shipping (and I'd need a serious deal), I'd pick it up from you. PM me if you're really interested. If not, I understand.

#22 9 years ago

Okay, for the record of yourself and anyone else that has sent or considering sending me PM's that is not local:

Shipping is your responsibility, financially. My contribution as far as that goes is prepping the machine properly (and you -will- pay for materials for me to do so, usually in the neighborhood of 50 bucks.) I am not cutting people deals so they can afford shipping. This game is costing me 40 bucks a month right now because not selling it means I can't use the money to pay off something else. I'd rather be rid of my debt, but it's by no means crippling me to not sell this game.

Just figured I'd get that out in the open, because several people have asked. If you want a discount, that's on you. The price listed...is the price. Shipping is not part of my offer...it never was, and never will be. I would vastly prefer someone pick up this game in person, because I don't trust the shipping companies, but if you're absolutely insistent, I will properly wrap it up, on legs. I will not pay part or all of your shipping bill, and I'm not going to take a few hundred dollars less and drive it somewhere either.

#23 9 years ago
Quoted from Frax:

I urge you to re-think this.

#24 9 years ago

If it is priced right, it will sell. If not, then it won't. Simple as that...

#25 9 years ago

bling bling,
this one looks niiice!

#26 9 years ago
Quoted from btw75:

I urge you to re-think this.

D'uh...why?

You want to pay 1600 for it, or make an offer I might actually consider outside of an emergency that means I have to sell something RIGHT NOW, then you can at least be arsed to drive up here for it Brandon. I already ate the shipping on this game one time. I'm not going to do it again. You want a 250 buck discount, on top of what I ALREADY took off the game, which was reasonable for the condition, and WAY WAY WAY under what I paid GAP for it.

I don't understand what your whole issue is with traveling to get a game, and frankly, it's not my concern. I already delivered you one game to make a deal happen before, and I'm not real anxious to waste 6 hours of my time and 90 bucks of gas again just for the benefit of your convenience and give you a "deal." You don't get it both ways.

So to put it bluntly: I urge you to take the responsibility of moving a game yourself, not on everyone else. I am more than willing to work with someone on times to meet up for people to pick up games. If you wanted it that bad...come and get it, but you specifically told me in PM that you don't even really want this game, you'd rather have a classic solid state, so I don't get why the hell you're even posting that, honestly.

#27 9 years ago

What the heck is wrong with you? I gave you a friendly offer in private, in case you were needing to sell, since we have a history of a good relationship. Then I gave you a friendly ribbing, since that's what I thought you were doing to me.

Ps. Bought my solid state yesterday, and if I want to buy another machine today I will. Your jackbot with its messed up inserts and broken glass in the playfield after falling out of a truck can sit.

-1
#28 9 years ago

So then sell him the game for $1600 and charge him $250 to bring it to him. Youve got to really be an ass to ask for that big a discount and also wanting it brought to you on top of that.

There's no glass in it. Neither did it "fall out of a truck", and any issues with inserts are shown to anyone interested. So go pound sand!

If you want to joke with me about something, better be more clear about it, because "I urge you to re-think this." has no hint of humor to it. Not in the mood to put up with bullshit today, and you're really full of it saying that after lowballing and wanting me to transport it to you...

Here is what I offered - and it was totally friendly as were the replies. Frax and I have been friendly and helped each other put in several ways over the past year, no clue why he went off the deepend.

"Tired of seeing this for sale. Let me set a floor for you, i'll offer 1600 delivered. Hopefully you get more than that, but at least you know you shouldn't go lower."

Which was fine, until the comment above. I specifically told you I might consider it if I had some kind of emergency and had to sell it. That was not a joke, that was a literal statement. Sorry if you thought it was some kind of joke and were under the impression that I was more receptive to your offer.

Just trying to cut a few heads off the hydra here, because I keep getting requests like "What's your lowest price" and "shipping is killing the deal" and of course, your offer.. it's a bit old hat at this point, so I decided to get out in front of it. It's a waste of my time, and for people to ask. There's no "shipping discount"...I'm not Captain Neo, trying to make a 95k sale. If you don't want the game for the price listed, then fantastic...don't ask. This wasn't an OBO post and I'm not soliciting bids. Everyone bitches about that here, and then when people DO post an actual price, we get threads like this, go figure.

For anyone interested in the history of this machine, here is the link where I asked how to clean up glass:

https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/anyone-got-tips-for-cleaning-up-exploded-pf-glass-out-of-your-game#post-1447864

Yes, the game was dumped off a PALLET, not a TRUCK, by R&L in their warehouse. Yes, I have pictures of what it looked like when we picked it up. Yes, I cleaned the glass out of the game. EXTREMELY THOROUGLY, and no, no glass has been seen in this game for damn close to a year now, since I took it to Texas Pinball Festival last year and not a single person said anything other than it looked amazing.

Yes, there is currently a credit dot, something with the trough switch, that I'm about to look into as soon as I stop wasting my time with this ridiculous post. Yes, there is damage under the front right leg that is completely hidden by pincabs and the leg. Yes, there is one ply that is cracked in the back by the power cord. Yes, there is some light ghosting on the multiplier inserts, and yes, I did a repair on one of them that was the most ghosted with UV-reactive resin that looks much better than it did. No, I have not attempted to fix the other 3 inserts because they were nowhere near as bad, and I did not want to even risk making it worse.

Yes, the game is going to TPF this year if it's not sold by then. No, I don't give a flying f--k if I don't have to sell it for less than 1850 by then or not. And no....I don't have anything to hide about this machine, or anything else here.

*Edit* 7:35 PM CST Credit dot is fixed. Game said trough switch #2 was the issue, tested in software test, works fine, credit dot gone.

#33 9 years ago

It sucks that drama was brought into this thread. The game's a good deal and someone local should totally buy it at the asking price. Jackbot rocks, GLWS.

#34 9 years ago

Edit.... new years resolution was to avoid drama threads.... was considering an offer but not worth it.

#35 9 years ago
Quoted from 85vett:

If it wasn't 1850 it didn't matter anyways. PM Sent in regards to what you posted, then deleted.

#36 9 years ago

Well since you decided to bring me in I'll play.

The game is over priced. It's the less desirable version, has fade and insert issues. Also, nobody cares about your little brag fest at the first of your thread and backing out of a deal is shaddy. So your good at pinball but you have a bad additude and is the biggest reason you'll have a hard time selling your game. No clue why you felt it necessary to pm me and lie to me. I know for a fact you've offered someone less than asking price atleast once of which you admitted to in the pm rant to me. That's all my deleted message was about that everyone is looking for deals, even you, so no need to get pissy with people making offers.

To all potential buyers. Give your money to someone whom deserves it. There is a reason why this guy is not well liked in the community. This is a taste of why....

#37 9 years ago

LMFAO..

The fact that you don't even get the difference between lowballing and asking for a lower price due to boards being completely corroded due to acid....yeah. I'm totally sure that you're going to go pick up two games that both have completely dead CPU's covered in battery corrosion that you were told were working and then not ask for at least half the money to cover replacing them, right?

Fading issues...okay. Find me a Jackbot with less fade in this price range. Good luck with that. I really don't care at this point if it sells at all or not. I've done plenty of deals with people, BTW included, that had no problem. Wish I could find his exact post where he stated that I probably said TOO much about the condition of a game when selling it. That would be fun to link in here...

If you have a problem with me, please don't buy from me, even if you're tempted to "make an offer." I'm not that desparate to sell it, I don't need your drama. The condition of the machine will be made perfectly clear before anyone ever lays out a single cent my way, and pretty much everyone in Dallas/Ft. Worth has seen this game in person that is in the D/FW Pinball and Arcade facebook group, and as stated, was at TPF last year as well. So plenty of external references there.

Do what ya want.

#38 9 years ago

Yeah... 1600 as a friendly offer from someone that it sounds like you've done business with before is an offensive low ball justifying your rants. Just read your post in your own FS thread. You're alienating people because of you additude. The fact you can't see that is the funny part.

#39 9 years ago

Im in at 1200 if you're ever in Houston, but any glass in that thing and I won't go above 1000.

#40 9 years ago

I'm curious as how the informal sample vs. regular production survey went during the big pinball social?

#41 9 years ago

Wow, there's sure a lot of drama here. Although I've only met him once, Frax seems like a stand up guy and somebody I want to do business with. The passion he has for the hobby is pretty amazing. I also think $1850 is a very fair price for this machine. I saw it at last year's TPF and it looked amazing. It's not perfect, but it seems like he's being overly honest about the condition and minor flaws. I wish the other sellers I've done business with were as honest about every little thing.

If I can convince my wife to let me have a 5th machine (yeah, I know I'm in danger of losing my man card for admitting that) then I will buy it myself. However, I'm pretty sure it will sell before that happens. I wish you the best of luck with the sale!

#42 9 years ago
Quoted from CrazyLevi:

I'm curious as how the informal sample vs. regular production survey went during the big pinball social?

Because my opinion on it is likely biased, I can ask the guys that were here to post on your thread if you want. I wasn't quite sure how to address it and remove my bias at the same time...we were pretty busy that evening. The real short of it was the three people I asked about it specifically did not have major issues with it. It WAS said that the ball was hopping off the bank, like my bank may be 1mm or 2mm too low, so that might explain why it locks balls better. Obviously I'm going to correct that as I don't want undue playfield wear from the ball hitting the edge of the playfield, but that slowdown on the ball going up to the lock area would certainly explain why my game is an aberration from what other people have experienced with the locks.

For the record, I HAD this game sold to Retrotilt before, and I backed out of it before we found Congo...I wanted to keep it! He bought another pin right after that, got a good deal on it. Super nice dude, and his pins are amazing as well...I promise you will never play a Hurricane or Game Show that are as fast as his are.

Quoted from 85vett:

1600 as a friendly offer

His offer was not 1600. It was 1600 *delivered*, which when you factor in my time and gas to take a day not working to go down to Austin, is 1260. And I don't get paid very much so it's not like my time is worth 75/hour, even with overtime. I told him that if I took his offer I would be doing my best to find some other reason to be down there at the same time... I can't go down there just to sell a pin at a cheap price for any other reason than an emergency...it's just not going to happen.

#43 9 years ago
Quoted from 85vett:

Yeah... 1600 as a friendly offer from someone that it sounds like you've done business with before is an offensive low ball justifying your rants. ..... You're alienating people because of you attitude. The fact you can't see that is the funny part.

I normally try to stay out of drama since honestly he doesn't and hasn't ever needed me to have his virtual back, but sometimes I just can't help myself.

$1600 isn't a lowball offer. $1600 plus the three and a half hour one way drive uncompensated to deliver a machine makes it a lowball offer.

Yeah, sure, gas is sitting at $1.87 a gallon right now and I have 400 Kroger gas points to use this month, but still. If you want to look at it that way, it's seven to eight hours drive time out of our way plus the load/unloading time. Next week unlimited overtime at Frax's job comes back, which means that ten hours is about $300 of pay. So, lemme do the math for you. Original price $2000. The offer was $1600 and we deliver it... from Dallas... to Austin. Ignoring the miles and wear and tear on my car from driving the approximate 420 miles but counting the $40 in gas money we'd be spending, we'd end up walking away from the deal making $1260. Does that sound like a lowball offer to you?

Now that's settled, I don't know or care about any drama. We've done trades with Brandon before, I think he's a pretty nice guy from everything I've seen and read. I don't know what happened earlier, what wires got crossed, whatever. I do know that his post "I urge you to re-think this." was pretty inflammatory on it's own (especially when you look at the math work above). There wasn't any happy smiley faces, no emoticon sarcasm, just simple text. I read that, laughed, and told Josh that he could tell him to jump. If he wasn't being particularly serious with his post, then no harm done and I'll apologize for the mean thoughts I had earlier about his offer. Anyways, it's the internets. *shrug*

Finally, this is a sale thread. It's not a 'who likes who' thread or a 'you're a mean poster' thread. Believe me, I've been reading people's butthurt internet posts about how much someone doesn't like Frax's attitude or opinions for fifteen years now. We met on a gaming message board for crying out loud. What you see is what you get with him. Always has been, always will be. I don't know very many people who would say they don't like him in our local community - and those people that would say that are very welcome to their opinion, as I don't think much of them, either.

Who are you again, 88vette? I'm not sure if we've met.

1850 is a great price....

#46 9 years ago

It was a freaking offer. You don't like it then move on but to come on here all butt hurt because an offer was made is ridiculous. Sure it was a bit low. The asking price is a bit high. What normal people do is counter offer or just move on. Not cry about getting an offer.

I love how the "math" has to come in to try and justify why he got all pissy with people. It's still the same thing. It was an offer and he could have easily just said, "Nah man, I can't do that. How about $1800 and I'll bring it with me next time I come to Austin (as we know Frax comes here sometimes) or you can pick it up next time you are in Dallas (as we know BTW goes to Dallas sometimes too)." Or just a simple, "thanks but no thanks." Either way, still no reason to go off the deep end as what was done. Hell, what do I know. I just offered to deliver a pin for a friend looking to sell a game just for gas money. It was only a 10 hour drive and he wanted to sell the game and the person looking needed help with delivery. Sometimes people do things for friends just to be kind or helpful (sounded like him and BTW were friends).

There is also NOTHING derogatory about someone saying "I urge you to re-think this." That could simply be someone hoping the deal happens but If you have your negativity hat on I could see where you would think that was an issue.

I stand behind my statement. It's the attitude presented that is the issue. For instance, most people don't PM someone that has deleted a post knowing it was not necessary for the thread to basically challenging them to an argument in their FS thread - "So much for avoiding drama...you didn't delete that post fast enough. " Just more reason why he's not liked and why I say he has a bad attitude.

No Quiddity - We haven't met. Like to meet some time as I really have no beef with you (or anyone for that matter). I've met Frax and I formed my own opinion then as well as what I see on pinside. Nice enough guy but I don't like cocky people and thus why I'm not a fan. Just happens to be a fairly common finding from other pinheads I've meet. So I don't like him. I'm sure there are dozens (hell, maybe even hundreds) around here that don't like me. Who really cares though anyways if someone doesn't care for someone (or myself)...

Anyways, the shit's gotten deep enough in this thread. I'm going to go back to my new years resolution of staying out of drama threads and drain this one now since it's a pointless thread anyways and I've said my piece after being called out.

#47 9 years ago
Quoted from btw75:

"Tired of seeing this for sale. Let me set a floor for you, i'll offer 1600 delivered. Hopefully you get more than that, but at least you know you shouldn't go lower."

My thing is $1600 is not a bad offer, but we all know its next to impossible to find DMD games at that price. So why then press your luck and ask for delivery. If I could find a pin out here for that price alone, I would be happy as shit to go pick it up even if the trip was 5 hours one way. If this all was offered via pm then no harm done. I do agree it is in bad taste to talk about any private deals on a public forum, but then thats just my opinion.

#48 9 years ago

Sold my Jackbot for same price. Mine didn't have LEDs and was faded. I miss mine and hope someone jumps on this nicely priced Jackbot.

#49 9 years ago

Bumping for OP and to also apologize for getting caught up in the drama and being a dick. He's helped me out a couple of times after this thread with tech types of things which show's he can be the bigger man.

#50 9 years ago

I personally think this game was very fairly priced. I am not sure what the deal was with guys lowballing, but $1850 for a DMD game these days is a steal. Keep your head up Frax! If I was closer I seriously would have interest in it. anybody that is willing to take a loss on a game and bend the way he did is ok in my book. vett, it takes a big man to admit they could have handled things better, Kudos to you!
