Yes I really would like to see that mod too, very curious about that. In the mid of the process of cleaning my pf.. I noticed how nice is the bumpers area and I really also would like to try a transparent mini pf, I think it would be really cool.
My mini pf is also the less colorful one, by the way.

I hope to be getting the first one installed in a couple weeks, it fits the theme perfectly. You will have to make your own clear mini pf, I did and took about 3 hours and is 99.999% accurate. If you have a spindle sander, drill press and a scroll saw it's pretty easy.

You can’t drop something like that... do tell!!

Sorry you'll just have to wait, but it's way cool.

Man that was quick, Pick is really on the ball, my plastics arrived today. They are sooooo nice I hate to put them on the game.

So the new mini playfields dont come with the red posts?

#259 6 years ago

If they don't come with posts I recommend getting clears posts instead. Makes the game look a lot better. Especially with multicolored rubbers from titan.

No they don't.

My latest mod for my game. Removed the 8 screws from the left and right outlane guides and plastics and replaced them with clear plastic screws then using the Comet Matrix system lit them from under the pf.

Wow! That’a a super cool mod! My congratulations, the matrix lighting system is something I got to try. Thanks for sharing these pics, gonna look for these clear screws too. My JB is still punishing me, hard pin is it, got to practice more- but I like it so much, and changing plastics with new ones was so easy.
Any news about back panel mod?

Thanks much, I love modding my games with stuff like this. It seems that all the metal screws in the game are #8, in other games they are #6. I had to have the plastic screws special made, I couldn't find them anywhere. The best price was at 250 count at $1 each so I have a "few" spares. For the outlanes they are plenty strong enough but for star posts and other posts with rubbers I don't think they are strong enough, if one broke off you'd have to replace the zerk nut under the pf cuz you couldn't get the broken plastic out of it. I have 250 of the #6 coming that are longer for other games also

No new word about the back panel, it's been a couple weeks so I should contact him.

Oh man I FINALLY got my game back together, all new switches, flippers rebuilt, new flipper bats, all new rubbers, pf stripped, polished and waxed, a couple new plastics, new star posts, blue on one side red on the other, Cliffy switch slot protectors, lit up the outlane switch slots with double headed flex led, red on one side blue on the other, replaced the 4 metal bolts on each outlane guide and put red on one side and blue on the other side single head flex leds under the pf pointing up into the zerk fittings to light up the clear plastic bolts I replaced the metal ones with. New coin door with keyless lock, my blue Leg Light-Ups, beatmasters blue shooter housing light up, new clear flipper buttons with my home made light-ups, new lock bar and receiver, new legs and levelers, removed all cabinet and head cartage bolts and repainted, all led's installed, added an OCD board (the stock settings makes all inserts look perfect), added a Pinnovators sub woofer board (WOW what a difference in sound), hand made a new clear mini pf, added 3 double spot lights, put an Ice Blue Frosted 10 led Comet led strip in the center drain, cleaned the cabinet and backbox inside and out, removed and cleaned the power supply, made 2 oak runners for the back of the cabinet (the cheap pine ones were toast), installed new start button, removed pf and sanded 2 pockets for the mirror blades to sit in so the pf doesn't even come close to the mirrors when it's lifted and lowered. I THINK that's it but still waiting for the custom pf back board, it should be here in a couple weeks then I have to figure out a way to light it up from behind. The pictures make the dark areas of the pf look even darker, it's actually lit quite nice.

Looks really nice! Jack Bot is a really good and underated game I think. I have been tempted to sell mine a couple of times in order to help fund a new game but i always end up being glad that i didnt after i play it a few times. Mine is also in pristine condition, that makes it tough to let go of also.

Thanks, I played one last summer and knew I had to have one, such a beautiful and fun game.

Thanks, seemed like it was never gonna get done. To make the mini pf I used a scroll saw, a oscelating drum sander and a drill press. I cut out the rough shape to about 1/8 inch then lined up the long straight edge with the perfect straight edge of the new plastic with the old plastic then taped the 2 together in a few places to make sure neither moved then put on my magnifying headset and got real close to see what the drum sander was doing so as not to nick the old pf. That got all the other edges REAL close to being straight and curved then I finished off with putting a piece of sandpaper on the flat workbench and held on to the plastic as I drew it over the sandpaper. The straight parts are perfect but the curved edges were a bit more work. For the big center hole I drilled a big hole then used a small sanding drum in the oscelating sander to widen the hole. For mini post placement I just layed the old pf on top of the new pf and used a pen to mark where to drill. Have fun making yours.

They are from Cometpinballbulbs, red top leds with white bottom leds. You have to super glue them on to the caps, hot melt just doesn't hold up.

Just got done installing, took me like 5 minutes the Pinnovator sub woofer connection. This pin REALLY rumbles now and VERY much worth the $35. I just wish I could turn up the bb speakers a bit.

hahahahahahaha that's a good one. My camera is a 3 ccd digital (4x3 format) camcorder with a WOPPING 2.3 meg still camera built in. You'd think with seperate rgb sensors my stills would be more color accurate wouldn't you. The camcorder section looks great though.

That ramp doesn't get much abuse so it might be hard to sell. Mine after 33 years of use is till perfect. GLWS sale though.

Welcome to the club. Check out PPS for plastics, a kit was made a couple months ago. Here's the link. http://www.planetarypinball.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Store_Code=PP&Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=GS-3619 Also, if your interested here's my 2 mods, Leg Light-Ups and Piccup Light-Up on my JB. Beatmaster sells the shooter light up.

I have the face plastic from an uncut sheet of plastics; you would need a dremel and a drill to shape it correctly and drill the necessary holes. It has fine scratches since the protective coating was removed, but should flame polish out relatively well.

Let me know if you're interested.

Come on people let's resurrect this thread !

Yesterday I made a discreet score on my JB ...3.300.000.000 and something. I know it's not a great score and I got to improve.
My pals love so much this pin ! Love the pin rules and the pin itself. This pin's got really me hooked.

I did some experimenting today to light up NinJaBoot's magnetic apron cover. It worked pretty well but one way produced some pretty good reflections in the display area of the dmd if your over 5'8". The other way I tried works good for lighting the apron cover with minimal reflection on the dmd but does not light the apron cover as well. Here are some pictures, the first set has the led strip in the position that causes the most dmd reflection.

IMGA0656 (resized).JPGIMGA0656 (resized).JPG

Overhead light on
IMGA0658 (resized).JPGIMGA0658 (resized).JPG
Overhead and led strip on
IMGA0657 (resized).JPGIMGA0657 (resized).JPG

2nd position of led strip, the light bounces off the under side of the chrome lock bar with beer seal removed so light can get out
IMGA0662 (resized).JPGIMGA0662 (resized).JPG
IMGA0664 (resized).JPGIMGA0664 (resized).JPG

With lock bar on, doesn't light the apron as much as the first way
IMGA0661 (resized).JPGIMGA0661 (resized).JPG

Here's the reflection in the dmd with mounting the led strip the 2nd way. Less then half as much reflection then the first mounting way and it's much more of glow then hard pinpoint lights like in the first way.
IMGA0660 (resized).JPGIMGA0660 (resized).JPG

Fun project and of course it looks better in real life.

Just curious Jackbot fans/owners...

When talking pinball or explaining a game, do you ever mistakenly refer to the word 'jackpot' as 'JACKBOT' instead? I catch myself doing this all the time.

I'm a fan of this pin, hope to find one someday.

I don't, I go on to explain that this was the third and last game in the Pinbot series and the name Jackbot was a play on words. I hope you find one some day, with less then 2500 nade they are few and far between. Mine was a reimport.
