It keeps the ball from rolling all the way back down the ramp. Once you pass the first skill shot hole, you are guaranteed to get at least the bottom shot.

I will join this club shortly. Proudly.
In the meantime... Rick at pps, as I asked for Jackbot plastics:
"We are about to run them using the original WMS artwork, so should be in the next 2-3 months to be available.
Please let others know.
Thanks,
Rick".

Awesome!!!
My visor was in poor shape, it was cracked and heavily scratched. A friend of mine came to the rescue and created a replacement. I'm not sure how this visor is supposed to be mounted, the old one was mounted in a way that it would move up when the dome over the locks would raise... which leads me to believe that maybe the visor should be elevated with spaces so it clears the dome as it rises. Does anybody have any pics of how the visor mounts to the back of the ramp?
I think he did a really nice job, he recreated the bends and riveted the metal guides beneath it.
Here's the before and after -
We had our annual Pinball BBQ yesterday and out of the 27 games that were there I kept coming back to Jack Bot. The game was in great shape and played 100%. I'd like to own one some day, it would look great next to my BoP. This game is waaaay under rated.
I've got a Jack*Bot on its way to my house this weekend. The cabinet is faded and there's a few broken plastics, I've managed to find NOS slingshot plastics so will be able to replace the broken one. Hopefully not much else will be wrong with it.
Super excited for it to arrive I love the music and sound this game has!

That's great. I bet parts are hard to find.

Keep us informed about these. A backglass or tl remake would be nice too.
Bump - wanted to see if anybody could tell me how the visor is mounted to the ramp from my question above.
Thanks!

I'd tell ya.....if I had the game. This club is pretty quiet so it may take a while to get an answer.

I will take some pics when I get home from work.
Anyone have a re-imported Jack Bot? I will be talking to someone that has one for sale so I'd like to get some info from a re-import owner.

Mine is a re-import, I can try to answer your questions.
Also, hoping to still get a picture of how the helmet/visor is mounted to the black plastic ramp... I think I'm missing spacers or something on mine.

No spacers on mine, screws right down to the top of the black ramp, approximately 4 - 5 fasteners I believe.

Thanks but the seller answered my questions.

Meant to reply and say thanks for the input. Mine is definitely affected by the rising helmet, maybe, my helmet rises too high? I need to investigate more.
I'm updating my Jackbot and the manual says the shooter rod spring part number is 10-148-3, blue spring, high tension. I switched out my old shooter spring (red) for this one, and now I can't even make the spiral ramp off the plunge.
Can someone check what spring they have, maybe I'm missing something.
Quoted from JReedie:After waiting for what seems like forever my Jackbot arrived this week. I played 2 or 3 games and just had to strip it down and get to work. Its cleaning up very well though!
Whats everyones best casino run by the way?
Congrats, that's what I'm looking forward to when I get mine. Hope your gonna pull those star posts and clean them too.

I really enjoy the initial cleanup of a machine, so satisfying to see the results. And yes i will be removing all the posts. I just wanted to get an idea of the results i will see so quickly cleaned and waxed the corner by the vortex.

Sweet! I got to 995,000,000 and wanted to beat 1 billion but of course hit a bomb on the next spin. I was gutted!

No doubt. It took a few tries, but, like you I wanted one billion, and wasn't going to stop until I got it.
What a great pin.
Unfortunately I have so much fun going for casino run that's all I play for and haven't put up a decent score.
Oh well
I'm not in the club, but there is one of these wonderful machines at an arcade type place I frequent. I liked the game so much that I decided to get a pinbot (for diversity). Figured it's basically the same game... almost, at least the shots are anyway.
I was hoping to get my pinbot to play the same as that jackbot. They both play so different, in pinbot I utilize the middle post a lot more and can get control of the ball faster. Maybe it's just the jackbot that's near but that damn game is so freakin bouncy, nearly impossible to get the ball under control. The thing I don't understand is the jackbot has black rubber rings on the playfield and my pinbot has white (which is supposed to be bouncier). I even tried red rubber on the flippers, nothing really changed.
I tried looking up to see if there were different grades of flipper rubbers and couldn't find anything. Just info on silicon superbands and titan, nothing about different grades of black rubber. So I figured maybe it's the batch that jackbot has, maybe the incline. I can try over and over but never see over 2 billion, damn game is so frustrating. Half the time I'm lucky if I hit 1 billion.

I see, you had me worried there for a minute. I'm the same way, clean with new stuff added. I already have a new coin door, rubber rings, clear flipper buttons so I can light them up, show quality chrome shooter housing with beatmasters light up, my Leg Light-Ups with show quality leg bolts and a new lock bar receiver.

I'll be putting white ones on my game so I'll see what happens.

Yes Paul, and I remember you being sold on the machine without having gone on a casino run. Just wait my friend, it's so much fun...

That's great. Your game was THE best game there, I just had to have one. There will be 2 of these in MN, I wonder how many of the 2400+ made are still playable out there.
Hey guys CHECK THIS OUT!!! https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/jack%e2%80%a2bot-plastics-set-complete-needed-as-loaner Finally after all these years, I'm gonna get a set.
Received confirmation yesterday from Rick@PPS:
"Supplier is working on getting samples at which point probably 30-45 days"
Just wondering if mini pf will be done, I suppose no?
I found a pinbot one and got it as I was assured here in the forum it fits perfecly, just in case...my jb is gonna arrive in a week.
Think this pinball will be much more appreciated in the near future

30-45 days, not bad.
Mini would be nice.
Are Pinbot graphics the same as JB?
I hope so too.
Have fun with yours, I have to find time to go and get mine, it's 260 miles away.
Quoted from PokerJake:I miss my Jack*Bot, if anyone sees one for sale in the midwest PM me.
When I get mine your welcome to come over and play it. I think you'll like my gameroom.
Quoted from PLAYMASTER:Just bought this Jack*Bot, and it has a signature, does anyone know if it is anything special I should know about it?
Ouch. Is that chalk? How's the rest of the game. Congrats.
everything is nice, 3-4 cracked plastics, but the playfield is very nice, but the artwork on the sides are faded. going by the serial number 5335101 2534 09/26/95 maybe one of the last ones made. anyone have any dates after this?
Sounds like you could use a new plastic set too. Retro Referbs sells new cab and bb stickers so you wouldn't have to paint it, good price too. I'll check back on that when I get my game.
Quoted from MustangPaul:You have the new light up speaker panel don't you, it looks like it?
No that's just the LED lights reflecting onto it. I have the Pinball bulbs LED kit installed on my machine. It looks great other than the purple behind the back glass, I'm going to change that back to whites. I didn't know they made a light up speaker panel for Jack Bot?

I see. Here's a link, https://pinside.com/pinball/market/shops/1032-lighted-pinball-mods/00944-jack-bot-jb-colored-led-speaker-panel-ultimate. I might get it for my game when I get it. I've got one for HS2 but I can't figure out how the red dmd lens and the dmd go on. Lighted Pinball Mods doesn't seem to understand my question and the instructions are of no help.

That is pretty sweet! Jack Bot is a pretty cool game, I think you will like it.
Picked up my reimport Sunday, 530 mile round trip but well worth it. Needs complete shopping and a new coin door (which I have) but it's in beautiful condition with just a little bit of decal fade and just a couple of scratches and leg wrinkle. Pf is beautiful with no broken plastics but the shooter lane is VERY dirty where the ball comes out. Started cleaning and modding with beatmasters shooter housing light up, show quality shooter housing, clear light up flipper buttons, 8 way power distro board and my blue Leg Light-Ups with more to come. What really floored me was that the apron is totally mint, not a flaw on it.
