Quoted from abagwell:

Thanks! The one issue I'm dealing with on it is that left ramp shots are "clanking" off the top left part of the plastic after the ramp and falling back down about 50% of the time....anyone else ever encounter that?

I get that a lot of the time, with fast shots. Chalked it up to just part of the game.

I had that issue when I rebuilt mine. I added plastic post spacers between the ramp and the plastic, problem solved

Thanks for the feedback all....have been out of town for work but should be abke to get some video of it this week.

Occasionally when on a Casino Run, I'll see a reel with a big "3" on it roll past, it think it also says something else, but I never land on it so I have no idea what exactly it says or what the prize is. Can anyone tell me?

MK3 hint. It's an embedded advert for Mortal Kombat 3 which was released around the same time by Midway. If it lands you get an instant EB. Supposedly, if you hold both flips just before the tumblers start rolling it helps land on it.

Ah yes, I've heard of that. I'll have to remember to try the flipper button trick.

Welcome to this Club. The more I play this game the more I like it. It seems a simple design but it's a masterpiece of deep rules and tricks, addictive and a very fast pin, pretty hard to master. After a couple of years I definitively can say it's a keeper. And very easy to shop too, new plastics are available. Have fun! Cheers.

#559 4 years ago

Mark my words.... This pin will be in the next wave of titles that will be going up in price. With new decals/plastics available and it being a fun title, demand will be there for it

It's also a coveted tournament machine, that when set up PAPA style, might be one of the best for competition from the DMD era.

And who doesn't like saxophone music?!?!

Suffice to say, mine isn't going anywhere soon.

Got her set up
This game is very fun wow
Looks to be complete,I wouldn’t know if it wasn’t,and very clean
Right flipper is slow to come down sometimes but other than that I don’t see anything wrong
Happier with this purchase than I’ve been for a game for awhile

I stumbled upon this pic of a JB playfield and to me it looks like the top of the target bank has a steel flap on top, slightly less wide than the bank. Makes sense, on mine occasionally a ball can get ‘stuck’ at the seam between the top of the bank and the pf slot when it is down. But it doesn’t have the flap and I can’t find any pics of another JB with it. Anybody know if this is a one-off mod somebody did? Because it looks like a good idea! Except the balls would bash the flap as it is slowly going up and down.

After a week man I’ve decided this is a keeper
I just love it this is a good game I am confused as to why this game would be thought to be a lesser value game than the bride
Gotta have the big man front and center
Beautiful artwork just a classic
Got the titans,flip mechs,pop mechs,drop target mech
Get this thing going like new when it’s tuned up its fast as fuck
Super happy with this game at the price point I paid even at the higher end
This one is staying

#565 4 years ago

Undervalued unappreciated game like the rules love the nuances of capitalizing on opportunity

#566 4 years ago

Best of the trilogy

#567 4 years ago

I am finding it tough to hit eye shots
Is that normal doesn’t seem to be anything prohibiting the shot
Maybe I just need to play better

#568 4 years ago

I have no problem, you just need to play better I think.

#569 4 years ago

You mean you are missing the eye shots, or the ball is going in but sometimes just not ‘sticking’ in the locks?

#570 4 years ago

Who shoots for the eye shots?

I only shot foot casino run...

Forgot to say, looks like you have either a very early production machine, or a protogame. The inserts above the keno card are color matched to their corresponding columns, and the ramp entrance sign is the blue version. If the light boards are red, its a proto. IMO doesn't increase the "value" of the game any, but just a cool difference. There seems to be a bit of confusion with the production runs of JB, so it's kind of neat that yours is different from "most" of the others.

#574 4 years ago

By missing the eye shots I mean they. Rattle around a bunch has to be perfect for it to stick
Makes me think maybe something was aligned wrong but again I think I just need to shoot better
Just when you send one flying up there and you feel like it should be good and it pops out ,it’s a little frustrating as I am trying to build toward a epic game and those shots if they don’t go in become out of control don’t like wasting them when it takes four shots to the left eye for one to actually stick

Somebody mentioned that to me on another site
That’s cool
He asked for the number on the back and then said it was early
just stoked to have the game goes great in the lineup
New pop bumper mechs this weekend!

#576 4 years ago

Was looking at pictures of JB being shopped and noticed this one doesn’t have wire guides on the outside of the holes under there
There are extra posts on the far left and far right
Maybe that’s why I get rattles back out from there so much
Maybe I could get in there this weekend and put slimmer post sleeves in there

The earlier productions of JB have different eyes that do not catch the ball as well which is most likely why you are getting frustrated with rejects. The later production games have scoops instead of saucers for the eyes. Supposedly, the eyes were redesigned because the saucers from the pinbot design don't work as well with the newer higher powered flippers.

This is exactly what's going on with your game Spacemanrats.

#579 4 years ago

Fuuuuuck
Well makes sense after the flippers were changed out it that’s when it started getting to where it was frustrating
Got to be a way I can figure to cut down on that thank you!!

You have a sample jackbot. I tried for years to fix the eye lock issue. I ended up selling it to a friend with full disclosure that it was a sample and explain the ball lock problem. I recently bought another jackbot but this time it was a production model with the upgraded ball locks.

I am gonna try to find something I can do any advice would be appreciated

#582 4 years ago

It’s not like it ruins it but to hit the shot consistently it has to be a pretty perfect shot not only placement but speed

#583 4 years ago

I’d say right now it’s mostly the velocity in which it flies in there that makes it pop out

#584 4 years ago

I wonder if there is any sort of retrofitting I could do...

#585 4 years ago

just spoke with cpr and the JackBot Backglass with custom mirroring is coming out soon.....

Exactly. The two dead giveaways on these samples are the colored visor KENO arrows (on production they are white), and the sky blue plastic over the left ramp (on production they are black and purple).

I hate these sample games with a passion. They appear to have made a ton of them for a game with such a low production run, they pop up all the time. I just got an email today from someone who wants to sell one (they included pics).

The weird thing on these are the cabinets ALWAYS look perfect on samples - they don't seem to fade in the reds and yellows like production ones do. I think they are direct printed rather than decals or something.

People (including me) have tried everything. Dead foam, rubber, dropping the mechs a little with washers...really nothing works. The WPC flippers are simply too strong.

Do what I did - change the settings to three easy multiballs instead of two to compensate for all the rejects. I suppose you could put the weakest possible flipper coils in there and make the game as steep as possible, but that will create other problems (good luck making the ramp). Really ruined the game for me, and I LOVE Jackbot.

let us know if anything works. As far as I know the only way to really fix it would be to acquire and install the proper eye lock mechs, which would require routing/drilling the playfield a bit so they would fit.

That's cool but won't do me any good, my tl will do just fine. Now if they came out with a 3d tl that would be a whole new matter.

#588 4 years ago

I am going to acquire the other parts and see about installing them be already installed full assemblies for the pops flippers drops and was going to do all new mechs for the slings
This game is too nice to let go the cab is beautiful you are right about that
I don’t know what the case is with other peoples games but this one isn’t driving me batty enough to sell at all
No need to change settings on this one
It’s gorgeous
The right eye hits almost every time the left is giving me trouble
Taking the kids out for pizza so I get some pinball time later will play for a couple hours keep track to see how bad it is and hopefully something will work
The wire guides make more sense for sure not the post maze they have there to “guide” the ball to the hole

If anyone has a pic of what’s on top and underneath the playfield for the eyes it would be much appreciated!
Thanks for all the feedback!

If anyone needs a mini playfield I have a spare new in package and a new one with a fee flaws.

#591 4 years ago

If the early version with saucers just has a glancing plate mounted behind it, maybe you could experiment with a layer(s) of shock-absorbing gel or tape between the plate and the playfield, or on the face that the ball hits, might cut down on the ball popping back out on hard hits.

Done and has improved it greatly
I’m at 90 percent on the left one the right one is improved as well but I haven’t adjusted that one much
I’ve ordered a couple different style glancing plates cause they are cheap and thought I would give it a try
Have no hesitation on changing the mechs but I like the way the foam I have has worked.
I used the same stuff that is behind the stand ups

#593 4 years ago

The stand up foam, after many adjustments, have have greatly improved the shots
90% of that stuff is gone stick really well

#594 4 years ago

I did try putting gel between a saucer plate and the pf on another game but honestly don’t remember how well it worked. Plain old thick felt would probably work well too, adjusting the plate holes forward a bit if necessary.

#595 4 years ago

I have a beautiful Jackbot but it's missing the right side lane guide plastic. Not the lane guide itself but the plastic that mounts on top. If anyone has one I would be forever indebted. Can't find one anywhere. Thanks
