Working on a Jack Daniels pinball machine that wont boot up a game and the displays don't light. From the pictures you can see that this game is a custom re theme. A friend pointed out to me that it was originally a Bally 8 ball. I did a small bit of research and there are several of these around. They all appear to be done by the same artist but all seem to have been created from different donor games. I found 2 other different ones. The first one is on Ebay for sale now, it is advertised as originally being a Strikes and Spares. The other one was made from a Gorgar. There are some other ones also but these 3 share similar but not identical artwork. First off does anyone know the history on any these games? Like who made them , were they intended for brand promotion or sold as kits? and secondly and Most importantly, what should I be checking for to get it working? I haven't worked on many games of this era. Attaching the Ebay add for reference and some board pictures. The MPU looks original, assumably running on 8 ball rom's ? The power supply with transformer has had considerable work done to it. The driver board is a newer Alltek. Any and all help, advice, info appreciated.

At heart this is a Bally -17 game. You can get the manual for 8 ball on ipdb.org and you can get troubleshooting steps on pinwiki

Thanks Cheddar & Steamfitter I looked around and got a newer altek board out of a Dolly Parton copied over the dip switch settings from the board of this this game to that & I got this Jewel up & playing nice. It Plays "Call to Post" Kentucky Derby when you start a game in chimes type sound. Pretty cool lil Retheme for what it is. I am Still hoping someone can provide more info on the origins of these 3 Jack Daniels games. With the Kentucky Derby & whisky influences on the Theme its got me wondering.

I was just at Dezerland in Orlando and saw this Jack Daniels rethemed Eight-Ball machine in the arcade there. How did it come to be at Dezerland? I'm also curious as to who was behind it and it's sisters, the Gorgar, Warlok (Pinball VPX) and Strikes and Spares versions.
