No, no--don't do that, that's how the virus spreads

Only in groups of 500 or more, if we cap at 499 we're still good

#203 4 years ago

Doesn't matter if you feel the virus is real or not , or if it's going to affect your life or not. This ain't the flu, we can stop those bullshit comparisons now. The reality is what is happening all around us is no joke and neither is the death toll over in Italy. You can stick your head in the sand if you want to, but as a business owner this is already affecting my business.

I am a firm believer that this was an accidental release of a biological weapon that was being developed out of China. I also firmly believe every leader and military in the world is fully aware of this. See, if the entire world was to turn on China, the globe's largest importer/exporter/manufacturer, the global economy would collapse overnight. Look at the U.S. stock market, it has shit the bed just over what the media tells us we should know. It's called wag the dog, not the tail. It's easier to scare and control everyone with half truths than it is to convince everyone they should be pissed off with the real truth. So in a backhanded way for political and economic reasons we have what we have, mass hysteria. This is all temporary, but it's going to get much worse before it gets better.

Gotcha, it wouldn’t surprise me if it was.

I thought the Australians did this exact same thing about a month ago?
The Chinese are claiming theyll be rolling out a test vaccine for "emergency" situations next week. Whatever that means??

You don't need to be a kook to do something irresponsible.

Irresponsible is carelessly giving someone the Corona virus because you, for example, didn’t take it seriously enough, and didn’t consider the potential impact on other people.

Irresponsible is downplaying a global pandemic.

Travish is not being irresponsible.

NY Post? Oh, I see.

lol. Won't read a valid story about vaccine attempts because of a link If Mike had included the link from msnbc you'd be applauding wildly.

Anti-science much?

Just like the other story put up here that you didn't read. You applauded that even though it said the opposite of what you expected.

Try actually *reading* before DV'ing wildly.

"I have no words." Indeed.

Word of advice. Don’t listen to news sources that try to trick you into thinking they are reputable through word association with actual established news organizations that have been around for well over 100 years.

Example

New York Times vs New York Post
Washington Post vs Washington Times

Jesus Christ it's a valid story that's been linked from all over. You guys won't actually read something until it's been pre-approved by your choice of filters?

Scary.

I went to a walk-in clinic yesterday to be treated for a cough that's been pretty nasty. They referred me to urgent care elsewhere, so I could get a chest x-ray to determine whether or not I had bronchitis or pneumonia. My lung x-rays looked fine and I did not respond to the nebulizer they gave me initially. This led to them having security and police clear the hospital hallways and escort me to isolation at the ER, as they entered talks with the department of health to see if I was a likely COVID19 case.

What a bizarre experience. After about an hour, they let me know I no longer needed to be in isolation and unlikely to have COVID19. I feel for the health workers out there, this has to be incredibly stressful times for htem.

I said nothing of the story. Just be wary of the source.

I know. you didn't even read it. It's nothing remotely controversial.

Believe me I'm wary of *all* sources. You should be too.

Did you feel like a celebrity with the police escort?

But wow... thanks for the heads up.

I got a lot of odd looks from people. I don't like that kind of attention, but the nurse had some humor about it.

I was kind of thinking "hey, if I got it, I guess this isn't so bad and it's good to get it out of the way" but also thinking about what a mess that would make at my work if I exposed a lot of people to it. Glad it's just bronchitis.

roffels,
Sounds like you will be ok.
In the end were the charges reasonable, or did they create a bunch of drama so they could charge you a shitload more money for misc other charges?
I'm sure tension is high in many hospitals and clinics world-wide with this new virus spreading.

The title of the thread reads like a statement from Ron Burgundy.

#229 4 years ago
Quoted from iloveplywood:

I agree -- the title of the thread was originally annoying, but it's a time to be a little easier on people and try to come together more not look for reasons to jump on people. People are going to be freaking out and panicking -- empathy and understanding might go a long way in a time like this. I have to really work on this myself as I have a gut reaction to be annoyed by people freaking out and panicking.
Get better Travis!

I was very much angered by the deceptive title, but you are 100 percent correct. Very much working on this myself, assuming everyone is a piece of shit is just toxic . Best of luck OP.

Hope the best for your daughter. Does seem like the results are taking a few days. Our governor claimed the state had a way to get results quickly but doesn’t appear to be so. Just crazy how much the numbers keep increasing daily.

Lol, your spin is hilarious. Keep reaching.

Spreading false information intentionally and doing it because of ignorance are two different things. I don’t think he’s a liar.

Shopping Shortages occurRing northern Ontario. Buy gas cans and fill them up. Generator if they are still available. The current gas war is good news for us but strike fast.

It’s not false if he has it. Do you know he doesn’t have it? No, you don’t. My “spin” is reality. Not sure what yours is.

He was overly dramatic and jumped the gun on saying he has it, since he’s not sure. But “not sure” isn’t “not”, so cut the guy some slack.

If this matters, a lot of the stuff Travish posts I don’t agree with. He’s of a different “ilk” if you know what I mean. And I know you do. But he doesn’t deserve the bashing he’s getting here.

I actually enjoy the banter, even though I obviously get annoyed sometimes. But we are all made of flesh and blood. And we are all in this together.
